the distortion comes from the photo receptors in your eyes not receiving any change. similar to how your brain fills in the gap of the blind spot kinda. the problem is your eyes are always moving even when staring at a single spot, the wobble ever so slightly due to your heart beat. I always thought it weird I could stare at the floor as a kid and it would start to move like water.

If you stare at a digital clock and make engine/fart noises between your lips the digits on the clock will completely wig out and bounce around. Change the pitch of the sound and it changes the movement. Its crazy, but I think its just because your eyeballs are vibrating with the fart noises coming out of your face.

I actually done this when I was a child, looking at the red digits of my grandmother's clock in the dark, I never thought that someone else would share this same kind of info, ha ha. Oh well this is the internet! 😄
This is due to our brains ability to "fill in" information. Since it's blurred out your brain compensates by filling in blanks with given information, since it's your own face and you're telling your brain that your face should now be smiling your brain tries to fill that information in. Our brains have a hard time handling faces in particular, for example: we can't "create" faces in our mind. Try to remember the face of your mother, or even your own face in detail. Our eyes/ brain is easily tricked, there are many of these tricks that are pretty much impossible to distinguish whether they actually are mistakes in some kind of matrix that we live in or just these optical illusions. It's a great philosophical topic.

Ah, FINALLY, I come to a comment that makes sense. I figured the same thing. You are absolutely correct. It is a matter of 'fill in'. When he mentioned 'emotion', I had an 'ah-ha' moment. Depending on the emotion, one's brain (or lack thereof) will determine what that person sees. It's the same idea as dreaming in a conscious state. That's why so many others have equated it with acid trips. I, too have seen videos by Richard Wiseman and know exactly what you're referring to. A little research goes a long way!

This is an ancient practice. It's been used for thousands of years. Use a single candle in a dark room, stare into the mirror into your own eyes without crossing them and trying not to blink and you will see versions of yourself from your past lives. It works perfectly.

This is intriguing but I would be too scared to try it for myself. I'm already scared of mirrors (for example, I'm scarred of: my reflection doing things that I'm not, seeing someone/something other than me in the mirror, my reflection not being real, etc), I don't think I could handle it. Although I still use mirrors to do my hair and makeup, mirrors give me serious anxiety and I don't wanna risk having a panic attack or something like that.

When you meditate deeply, and see that this flow of existence is beyond our control, we die a little too. Not because we really "die" (nothing does), but all the nonsense we have been fed about identifying with a name, a job, friends, titles, etc., we see it is a lie, and not a life. I discovered that years ago by accident, but you have to be in shady room or dark room with candle, stare at your reflection in the mirror as long as you can WITHOUT BLINKING. Then after this "scary faces" effect, your face starts to disappear. Another weird thing is, you can do it with anything you want. you can stare at whateverm and then it also will disappear.

I have tried where you look in the mirror really close and move your eyes back and forth really fast and you can't see them move. If someone else is there they can see them move but you can't it's weird.

Ian Pat I assure you my claims are reality my friend. The mind is a powerful tool especially when your third eye sight is awakened. Why don't you go ahead and try this game if your so sure it doesn't work? If you think nothing happens then your doing it wrong. I have other tricks that reveal that this life is nothing but a hologram matrix with many other entities and spirits behind the curtain of this reality. I did this , and i saw a skeleton (not a scary one) in the mirror instead of myself
Blur your eyes. If that doesn’t work dim the lights. If that doesn’t work just turn the lights off and close your eyes. You’ll morph and glitch so much you won’t even see yourself. (Don’t believe anyone who says morph with that much sincerity.)
