He has been my idol since day 1 on screen and you can see the kind of guy he is, he's gracious, not conceited and I loved this interview, long live your acting days Sir Sly!!
Although very successful, Stallone as an actor is very underrated. The scene in First Blood where he breaks down emotionally and tells Colonel Trautman the story about his dying friend in Vietnam is one of the best performances ever in the history of cinema.
@@ryanrobinson8682 Nobody is saying that he isn't respected or admired. As an actor he is underrated. He won't show up in anyone's top ten list of actors from his era like Pacino, De Niro or Hofman. Yet his performance in First Blood is outstanding and especially the ending is one of the best dramatic scenes put on film.
I’ve seen that movie plenty of times and like the scene; HOWEVER, it is kind of hard to make out the words he says in that scene, in my opinion. He kinda hasn’t broken out of that action hero mold though, but he’s still an iconic actor.
I Love This Man!!! My uncle had a part in Rocky 4... played one of the russian generals in the crowd. He was paid well... feed well all of it. He said that Sylvester Stallone was in every way a nice kind and gentle genuine Gentleman!!! Got to know him abit. Had pictures taken with him and rocky's wife. Anyway its nice to know that truely nice people are in this industry... He really did it on his own!!! Very inspirational... Keep Rocking Rocky!!! People call me Rocky because of my name though lol... Roxanne... Anyways All The Best!!!👏👏👏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇🌈🌈🌈
A very smart man. Not much else to say really. Rocky, Rambo and some of the comedies are just great. All rounder and a lovely fellow from what it seams.
He's proven himself in the action/tough guy genre many times over. I wish he would tap into his vulnerable side more. The first Rocky movie did that, and I liked his performance in Copland. I'd like to see him pursue that more.
Stallone seems to have a great sense of humor. Not just talking about his films and life, but even in his films (the Rambo joke in Tango & Cash, the Expendables movies)
The original IV or Rocky vs Drago, Stallones Directors Cut?. I think around 31 minutes of the original movie have been replaced with different or extended scenes compared to the original.
A Hollywood gentleman making hardcore action old school great movies we all miss. Thank you Mr. Sly for all you have being doing for the last 30 or 40 years... Holywood Legend! Thank you
The rocky series changed my life. Funny to say but it shaped my childhood in subtle ways. Walked out of the theater, ran home, asked my dad for a punching bag...fast forward 25 years became a black belt, and even today work out every day - and in small ways I attribute this to Rocky even to this day.
You didn't need the clickbait title to get people to watch this. It wasn't until near the end, when they started talking about Arnie, that I realised they hadn't mentioned him yet.
Sly is an icon. We all watched growing up. An hes right rocky 5 was below standard but balboa was a good end to probably 1 of the best characters in movie history 🎬👏
Wonder if anyone has ever asked Sly if he’s seen or would watch Dead Mans Shoes? Great Shane Meadows film and Paddy Considine is excellent. Has a bit of a UK First Blood vibe.
Listening to Slys story of his father. I used to work in a yard in Bilston West Midlands England. and in the daytime the travellers used to drive their trucks in the yard and drop the scrap metal into a pile where they would sit all day separating the copper the brass the steel and the aluminium.. Each had different values when weighed in. One of the travellers old Joe lived in the yard in a caravan and he had a horse and cart.. He used to go to the pub each evening and come back hammered.. Sometimes we woukd work to late in the evening and see him come staggering back . One night as he staggered down the yard the horse raised up at him and with one sharp blow he punched the horse on the nose and it fell to the floor. Joe must have been strong as an ox. and he was in his late 70s close to 80..True story
My Papa was the manager of the meat processing center in the films at the time the Rocky movies were made. He said he met Sly but didn’t think much of him since he wasn’t a known actor. He always said how annoying it was during the filming because the crew slowed production. My Papa ❤️ was a no nonsense man, and he worked hard for his family. He was a boxer in his day and won the golden gloves!
I CAN WITNESS IN "RAMBO" MOVIES, JOHN RAMBO KILLED ALL GUYS WERE DEFINITE BAD GUYS OR WHO WERE WORK FOR BAD GUYS. RAMBO WAS REALLY "SACRIFICE" TO HAS FULL OF BLOOD ON HAND BECAUSE HE HAD TO RECUSE GOOD PEOPLE.
"the snake is a snake, the bomb is a bomb" - this is how its supposed to be! nothing against CGI, it brought us many, many beautiful cinema moments, but it should only be used as a tool and if absolutely necessary
I agree. I don't like to leave home at my age anymore because everything is just annoying. My kids can live with me forever too. I don't need to know everything they do or micro manage them but it's comforting just to have them in the same house. I can't even comprehend people that want to rush their kids to move out.
He has been my idol since day 1 on screen and you can see the kind of guy he is, he's gracious, not conceited and I loved this interview, long live your acting days Sir Sly!!
funny commend considered Sly day 1 on the screen
Send Him to Ukraine he has plenty of ammunition

Agreed. What a beautiful scene.
How is he underrated? He's massively respected and admired globally. What a strange comment

That and the Mick death scene. Absolutely capable and just had a vision.

Great interview...loved this. Good chemistry between Sly and Jonathan.
Strange comment

This is one of my fave Stallone interviews. I saw it in 2008 when it was originally on TV. Brilliant..
No one mentioned the tulsa king can't wait for season 2
@@paulskinback717 yup, Tulsa king was the shit back in 2008

You think Sylvester Stallone well answer us...
No
Congratulations on being in love with another man Thanks for telling everyone
This guy is truly immortal as an actor in the action genre! Perhaps one of the most influential action stars in history so far!
And will
What a great interview, it was clear how much it meant to Jonathan having Sly on the show. 😊
Can't wait for Tulsa King season 2!
One of the best things he has done. Love it.
Me too, brilliant. 75 years old and charisma high!
Hell yeah....awesome

He has to get massive credit he could of retired but he took a lot of stick from critics about Tulsa king but I Wana see part 2 dam straight
Smart talented man . Never liked him as a kid but looking back this man was awesome.
How come you never liked him as a kid
Weird !!!! He was like every kid's hero in the 80s and 90s
Very strange
One of the better interviews I've seen on this channel

True yep, or more theatre style comedy like Oscar (for those that say he cannot act theatre style)
Copland was great!
My two favorite Stallone films. Great performances in both.
comedy would be good

Grew up with him all my life from rocky to rambo havent seen tusla king yet but watched all his movies. Love him.
Funny how Jonathan talking about Wambo and Woky movies 😂😂😂
Thats wocky to you my son !!!!
13:48- “Now you knocked him out, why don’t you try knocking me out now”. Reminiscing..
Hey, Tommy
First rocky movie was a master piece..and deserved the Oscar for that year!!.😎
Yea the boxing scene is awesome
Named my son Rocky. Almost 22 years ago.
Great interview
Watch Samaritan with Sly absolutely 💯 per cent fantastic.

This is 15 years old. I thought sly was looking good all of a sudden 🤣😂🤣
Yeah, he's aged just a little, but then who wouldn't.
I was actually thinking "is this recent? How the hell does Jonathan Ross still look so young?"

Sly and Arnold Are Just Awesomeness!! 👊✊😊
They Are The MAN!! 👍👌💪🎃🍁🎃
In the rest of the world, Rambo is definitely known more than Rocky. Growing up, I thought Stallone’s real name was Rambo.
You know who’s missing in that singing group?
Broccoli Rabe. 😂😂😂
0:32 One of the worlds best. Response to video only.
Surprised people give Rocky 2 low scores, I thought it was the best of them all
Second best after first one.
Rocky 2 is a brilliant sequel. Especially the moment Paulie says to Rocky "Win... Win". Gets me everytime.
@@SirHilaryManfatlol it’s Adrian that says it

I'd say 15 years younger

Rocky 4 is my favourite from the series.

Jonathan Ross is a big movie nerd/guy. I think he was a bit starstruck/nervous in this interview/conversation

Rocky IV🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅
