- Installed light bars, strobes, reverse lights and accessory switches. Just showing finished project. Video limited to 10 minutes but I was pretty much done lol...
A full 5 part video is in my channel if you want to see detailed installation, • 2017 Polaris Lighting ... Thanks! Авто/Мото
I wanted to thank you for doing these videos. I put a very similar setup for my strobes in my new 2019 General based on your design. I used the same Feniex strobes and flasher, along with the Blue Sea fuse block and OTRATTW switches. I relocated my front strobes because I have the upper bumper and they would have been blocked. But overall the project was easy thanks to your detailed videos. I didn't have the same positive trigger problem you experienced... Mine worked fine. It was the first thing I did to my new General, literally a couple of hours after bringing it home.
Thanks! I appreciate it! Glad they helped! :)
Love your General. I'm looking to do roughly the same thing in the spring (minus the strobes). If you have a few mins, would you update your video description with the names/details of some of your products that you used? Thanks!
Nice rig man clean set up hope to get me one soon
any possible video on how that wiper system works?
Looks nice
that is sick, this has too be one of the best side by side's i have ever seen, WELL DONE , i love everything about it , and how you told about everything in your video was spot on , can't wait to see this flying down the road, now saying that can you use it on the road in your state, i ask because ot the blinker's you put on, thanks
Thanks for the kind comments! Doing a few more upgrades before I get to play with it. I can take it down the country roads here without the lights but I like to make it a little more conspicuous when I'm pulling something and running slower than traffic...
Great series of videos. Where did you find the headliner and back panel kits?
Brice Meiwes the headliner is from Polaris (pro roof kit). If you're referring to the grey liner on the back wall, it's actually a leftover piece of outdoor carpet I trimmed to cover it. lol! It helps with the sound a bit too...
I know this video is nearly 2 years old, but I was wondering if you could post some links or models of the strobe lights and strobe system/flasher you used. I really like that and would like to do it myself. How were you able to have so many modes? i.e. regular strobe, backup lights, right turn, left turn? Did you have to use multiple flasher modules?
Nope, I have more videos in my channel on this. If you subscribe to my channel and look at the comments in each, the info you need is there. Let me know if you run into any problems. Take care!
TW Kustoms Thank you, I found the other videos. Thanks for all of the detailed explanation! Looking forward to trying this out!
Like your wheels and tires, any info on them, like where they mounted, brand, where you got them, thanks
James Gourlie I got them as a custom set from KJ Motorsport online. They are STI Wheel HD5 14x9 and 27x11x14 Sedona Ripsaws. Same size all around.
I was wondering if you are having any issues with your doors on your General? Mine keep falling apart at the top! Polaris even replaced them, and the driver's door still comes apart at the top when the door is closed!
mine weren't too bad but yes they showed a separation. I never had them replaced. I installed the Seizmik uppers and got them to fit pretty well and I don't notice the separation anymore. I figured i would get the same if they were replaced lol...
Thanks for your reply.
I’ve purchased the same Black Oak lighting as you have on the same model General. I’m really struggling with how to run the power cable on the 30” bar through the roof. How did you run the cable? I just don’t feel great about drilling a hole in my perfectly good roof. Thanks and Happy New Year.
Rob Lively I did run through the roof but I got a rubber grommet and sealed it with a dab of black silicone. It looks fine and like it's supposed to be there. Doesn't look gawdy when you use a proper grommet...:) but I do get the apprehension on drilling into these machines lol!
Longslyde1 Thank you for your reply. I will go for it. I believe I do have a grommet that will work. Just need to get some black silicone. I’ve really enjoyed your lighting project series. I think I’ve watched it at least 5 times. Well done!!
Rob Lively thanks! Glad they helped! :)
Could you tell me where tou purchased the mud flaps?
Wayne Owen UTVmudbusters.com
I'm a Can-Am guy but this setup is fantastic. What is it used for?
Chris Carver I set it up for fun but I do pull some equipment on the roads from time to time so I use the strobes and signals for that purpose. thanks for the compliment!
love it!!! I want one so bad!!! buddy has one... where did u get mud flaps?
Roger Evans thanks! the flaps are from utvmudbusters.com.
what do you have for uper doors and where can you get them
Seizmik upper doors from seizmik direct...
question from Europe. how u mount roof bar, just on the plastic or u used something attached to the bar inside. thanks
Pavel S. I drilled a hole the exact size of the bolt (fits snug) then used a larger washer on the bottom to hold the plastic better...
Longslyde1 thanks man. thats what i was thinking. Im from Lithuania , got only one General in country , so hard to go look how its done. Russians across the border using 42 in bars and fitting em on the cage. But no info on the net ;( bkoz deluxe model here over 32k $ . few ppl can afford .
thanks for help.
What did you use to cut the plastic dash?
I used a dremmel, but a hot knife would probably be easier to control.
I wanted to ask you how the diode is attached to the wire at your jump wire on the accoeries terminal?
g williams I actually put in down the wire a bit with a couple heat shrink splice connectors...
Longslyde1 ok, thank you very much :-)
Where did you purchace your roof liner , trying to find one but can't seem to found one . You have a beautiful bike love the color .
They kinda got ya there, you have to get the sport roof to get the liner. I traded mine out brand new at the dealer and just paid the upgrade at time of purchase.
@@Longslyde1 well thanks for the info , just purchase the bike today never drove it yet , going to call them on monday to see what the difference is.
Hey Bo, are those switches (roof light, etc etc) Polaris or after market? like the clean fit and finish look you have going there.
Erick Quinones. The switches are from OTRATTW.com. they have multiple styles and back light options. Switches are great quality and sealed.
Longslyde1 thanks, how is the radio and sound bar, is it worth the $$$? your light set up is great...i went with the stock 13in front bar but held off on a roof bar, until i look at rigid industry and rough country lights but now gonna look at black oak, plus really like the rzr upgrade head lights
Erick Quinones The Volume output is great but I wouldn't mind having a little more Bass. It has good clear sound. I've had better but not as nice of a fit as this...
got to ask!
is that a 442 in the back ground?
Erick Quinones , LOL! nope, it is a '68 GTO Ram Air 1.
How do like those headlights. Can ypunpost the link where you got them?
I got them of ebay so you'd have to do a search on there to find them. The seller I got them from is no longer on there.
The lights worked great! Didn't give me any issues and focused the light much better than the factory ones did....
Did u have to do any mods to make the rzr headlights work? Or is it as easy as just changing them out with the stock ones...? Thanks
Tylar Coulas the eBay lights come with the correct adapter plug. all you have to to do is mount them, plug them in, and aim them...
Ok awesome! Is there any chance u remember where u got them or have the link?
Tylar Coulas I don't have a link, but if you search eBay with "polaris general headlights" they will come up, they should be around the $225 mark...
Ok unreal thanks alot man
Tylar Coulas no prob!
Does the Generals have a switch for reverse or did you have to add something for that?
Yes they have the wires for a back up alarm in the harness next to the throttle body or the bumper depending on the year of the machine. They may be taped up so you might have to dig a bit. If you are subscribed to my channel, I have a 5 part series on this and it shows where they are on a 2017 model.
@@Longslyde1 Great Thanks so much
Very nice man! Do you have a video covering the heater?
Matthew Millner No I don't, sorry. I only have the full 5 part series on the full strobe and signal install.
Longslyde1 subscribed ;)
That is a super nice rig, seems loaded with accessories too. I might guess you could have 25K invested?
Doesn't take long to get there on these things! My other videos will show where it's at now. Seats, springs, STM clutches, etc. This wasn't too far into the project...lol
Do you have a bully dog tuner in the general? Or what's in front of shifter?
Yes, Bully Dog with Level One tune installed.
Level one tune? From bully dog or another company u loaded a tune of there's on it? In lighten me please
Tune is from BMP (Bikeman Performance). You can order the whole kit from them and includes one tune. Others are available as downloads from them. bikemanperformance.com/bmp-programmed-bully-dog-gt-for-polaris-general.html
Be sure to inform them if you have Turf Mode, I'm pretty sure I was the first guy they had to program that into the tune to keep it's functionality. Otherwise you will lose turf mode if they use the RZR base tune...
I am in the process of doing the turf delete. I have the 4 seat and seems like the best idea to get rid of it. Ty for the information.
last question for now,,, dont want to inundate you with questions but as far as the kick out rock sliders are they bolted or welded in?
Bolted on. No problem with the questions. Ask anytime! :)
Longslyde1 never thought a New Holland owner would be such a GMC fan, you know being new holland was once a Ford product..lol
I've gotten that before LOL! I'm not tied to any one brand anymore. I just stick to GM in the newer product since I do tuning with HPtuners and EFILive... It's the platform I got used to, and got good at it. ;)
what is the size of the light bar on the top of the roof?
eddie trujillo @6:30 in the video he mentions that the light bar is a 30in black oak
What type of steering wheel
LOGAN YOUNG Heretic Studio
+LOGAN YOUNG Heretic studio.com
Wiring genius !!!
brad hill LOL! thanks! :)
i want one of these side by side's
hey how did you get the rzr led headlights? were there any problems installing them?
www.ebay.com/itm/16-17-POLARIS-GENERAL-1000-LED-HEADLIGHTS-CONVERSION-KIT-USA-headlights-LEDS-/122011106509?hash=item1c686dbccd:g:HZ8AAOSwcB5ZKPlm&vxp=mtr
is this kit fits as plug n play?
Yes, that is exactly the kit I used and it is plug and play. Comes with the harness adapter. Only took about 20 minutes to put them in...
is it genuine oem polaris part?
Where did you get the rear bumper and the flare extensions
mike bones rear bumper is a HMF Defender and the mud guards are from utvmudbusters.com.
Thanks for the fast reply buddy
Can you make a follow up video please?
By the way love the General its sick!!
Jusbob 1 I actually sold the unit and got a new style Ranger I am modding. If you subscribe you can see a bunch more videos on the General.
TW Kustoms Ok, Thanks! I subscribed! Also, what do you use them for??
Jusbob 1 mostly for fun but I do pull some trailers around on the road and that what I like the strobes for....:)
TW Kustoms Thanks!!
can get a list of parts u put on
You mean all parts? or just the lights?
The lighting system
Clint Ishmael
the lower lights are Feniex Cobra T3 in amber. The uppers are Feniex Fusion Amber/White with 180 Degree lenses. tied them together with the Feniex Flasher. the switches came from OTRATTW.com and I bought a bundle of universal 30 amp relays off ebay. I bought 5 for 8 bux. I used three of them in this system. two for the flasher/turn signals, and one for the back up lights...
Thank u i like ur ride and have u seen the new full doors for the general
Clint Ishmael , Yes I did, as a matter of fact I was just down to the dealer, I have a set coming but if I can't wrap the outer shell in a matching decal pattern like the factory, I'm not sure I will be putting them on. Polaris wasn't really thinking that design out. it's a step backwards in looks with how refined they made the general. the Black doors look ok on a ranger because they have a black box, but the general matches graphics from front to back and putting this door on makes it look like a total aftermarket piece...
turn off the background radio plz
Did you have any issues with the machine over heating with that light bar there?
It blocks the radiator a little it looks like. I just mounted one in the same spot is why I am asking.
@@Booner96 not at all.
