Thank you so much we just got our pool fixed with a new liner and when we went to use it we realized that we use that coping as a step. When you should not. My husband and I had this idea but could not find anyone who could help us. So thank you for helping us to make our pool work for us. Awesome!

Solid idea and can’t blame ya for trying and it looks great. However, just for anyone here reading the comments and looking for ideas. Couple things wrong here.. to replace the pool liner, whether overlap, beaded and Jhook.. on those Wilbar pools 9 times out of 10 you’ll have to remove AT LEAST the top rails.. yes even with a unibead liner with a receiver installed. These gentlemen cut it real close as you have to remove two screws from under the decorative top caps, making it almost impossible to change the liner without taking apart the deck. The other issue is in the construction itself. Their additional framing is on top of existing deck boards. Boards inevitably go bad. Now the framing is on top of the boards and will have to be cut and left in place if you ever have to replace them. Think of it like putting ceramic tile around a toilet.. you don’t do that.. you pull the toilet and put the flooring under the toilet. However.. good work and sure beats the gap! 😊

This is the way I had my deck. It looks so good until you have to change the liner out...can be a pain to work around deck. Hope it works for you. I cut my deck back this year when I changed the liner.
    Best of luck

Liner replacement? Winter cover? Had to cut back my deck as the previous owners did the same thing.

Wow you are really going to regret hanging those joists over your pool rails when it comes time for a new liner. Maybe you have already

I have a islander pool from Secard pools that comes out 18 inches of the ground on wood frame. I want to do a concrete deck, will the wooden frame be strong enough to hold the concrete

Also the frame of the floor joists should have been installed on top post or notch up the post set the rim board and the notch on the post because screws are not made the whole white of a floor system

Looks great, but it’s not gonna be fun tearing the deck apart to replace the liner.

Can't make it too easy on ourselves, lol.
In reality, our last liner outlasted the pool housing, so (knock on wood) we weren't too worried about it.
