    • @TravisNoble-i1s
      @TravisNoble-i1s 7 месяцев назад

      @@ABC-xt5by and u don't make that much because of several different reason. 1. You probably decline about 75 to 80% of every call given. 2. Could also be with safety stuff with uber. Keep in mind that if a passenger gives a rating to a driver of 3 starts or less, then u will no longer be paired with that passenger and same goes if a driver rates a passenger 3 stars or less then the driver will no longer be paired with passenger. I know this because i had a safety issue about a week ago in my city where I had to kick someone out. When i rated that passenger a 1 star i spoke with uber safety about it and in a email that they sent me they said i would no longer be paired with passenger. So remember each passenger u rate stars or less as well if a passenger does the same thing u lose more customers. Number 3. U might also not be accepting rides during busy times. For example, 4am to 8am, or 2pm to 12am. But mostly it could be because u decline each call. Remember decline a call is pointless. If u recieve a $3.50 fare for a pickup, then that means the customer probably not going far. And u can't force a customer to drive 10 to 15 miles. If where they have to go is a short trip, then u just have to deal with it. For example, i accepted a Trip back on 4/9/2024 and the fare was $3.60. I was less then a mile away to pick passenger up and the passenger wanted to be dropped off. The drop off was less then a mile. Where i live min wage is $7.25 an hour. My last job that i had before working Uber i made $10 an hour. My last job u could never work overtime at all because the company i was with always Deny the overtime. I work about 35 to 37 hours every week. My bring home pay before taxes got taken out was around $530 every 2 weeks. With uber i bring home around $680 every week. That a $150 more per week that i made. I spend $35 to $40 once every 2 days for fuel. As far as maintance goes i only pay for a oil change every 3k miles because the car is Brand New. U can make good money u just got to stop decline calls.

    • @sergeybrin1963

      Once Uber switches over to flat rate then all their drivers turn into about the same level of effort as you get from a McDonald's employee microwaving your food. Clearly their entire model is based on commissions. This is like saying car dealerships should just pay their sales people $X an hour "if it were true" that they were making $30+ because they'd save money. No, they'd go out of business for selling no cars.

    Alright let's take a look at this 652 miles booked now let's add dead miles add 4 miles to each ride 60 that's another 240 miles soo we are looking at 900 miles that's at least 30gallons of gas times 3.30 or at least 100.00 now let's take out depreciation ( of just the vehicle miles at 18.5 cents per mile the most conservative possible 167.00 ). That's 267.00. Now maintenance and upkeep repairs tires oil changes the most conservative number is 1.10 mile remember there are things like tires oil changes and various preventive maintenance procedures at different maintenance schedules another 100.00 mow we are at 367.00 next let's subtract out ride share insurance 3.00 a week and that is conservative now its at a net minus of 370.00 from his 878 24 net 508.24 and that is by the most conservative subtraction now it shows 60 trips well I have been doing rideshare for almost 6 years that is at best 2 trips an hour soo he has got 30 hours invested in 508 dollars ( that is 16.93 an hour ). Now No health care. no holiday pay no 401k with company match no vacation pay , next the risk of an accident , damage to vehicle interior. Personal injury are all elevated , with no compensation and I happen too know the first 2 weeks of March were busy weeks the last 2 weeks of March it slows down he got lucky that happens about 40 weeks of the year drivers ate making much less than 16.93 an hour plus I noticed he is driving a Sorento with a 3rd seat capacity so that vehicle qualifies as an xl or comfort level vehicle witch pays a little better however maintenance upkeep and depreciation are higher about 8-12 % fuel economy is lower soo from the 508.24 we need to subtract 10% 37.00 witch brings us to 471.24 of real money earned after real world expenses divided by 30 hours of on the clock time witch now brings us to 15.70 an hour actually driving to ( dead miles waiting for passenger and driving passenger to drop off location ) 30 hours invested. Now there is the matter of dead time he sounds like he takes almost everything thrown at him if that's the case than he will have more dead miles to pick up location subtract another 8-12 dollars in gas LG suv's are thirsty soo he really made 462 .00 with 30 hours invested not including dead time waiting for a ride to ping which is about 25 % more time or 40 hours to make 462.00 all factors considered witch is a little over 11.00 an hour driving an xl class vehicle. Nuff said I have over 10000 rides and over 5000 food deliveries over almost 6 years I know what I am talking about. Next he talks about tax write off we all take the milage deduction but have to pay double fica that is 16% after milage deduction and does not off set no benefits by a large margin. 100 an hour ridiculous nobody makes 100 an hour its not even possible thats a flat out lie , he is showing you booked hours with does not incude drive time to the passenger and time where you are without a ride , 65000 dollars that is a lie 900.00 times 52 equals 46800 unless you incude all lyft fee's which is included at the end of the year also he is putting at least 45000 to 50000 miles a year on his car that sorento is a 40000 dollar vehicle in a low teim level to 45000.00 if you put 45000 miles a year for just two years thats 90000 miles what do you think that 40000 vehicle is going to be worth KBB value 16,672 is what it is worth that is a 23000.00 dollar loss in depreciation thats right 23000.00 not including tax title and license its worse depending on trim level of the vehicle 1 more year of driving on that vehicle and it will almost be ineligible to drive with that vehicle on the platform the cut off is 150,00 miles 23000 divided by 24 = 983.00 in depreciation per month alone , they are using the old numbers trick that these rid share companies have used time and again to fool you driving the way he does he is putting on alot of miles on that vehicle soo out of that money he earned you have to subtract at least 227.00 just for depreciation alone which is 63.00 more than originally estimated soo now we are down to 399.00 of actual profit when you factor in that vehicle being eaten up versus a regular job . LOL. Do the math before you air something like this , not to mention a 75.00 every 6000 miles oil hange and a set of tires that cost around 1200.00 per year between oil changes and a set of tires thats 1800 a year write there , 150.00 month . Do the math Channel 9 before you air something like that how about a counter point from a real driver who knows what is going on do you have the guts to air that .

      Uber/Lyft drivers are independent contractors tax form 1099. As a independent contractor tax form 1099 you work as much as you want or work as little as you want you set your own schedule time when you want to work and when you don't want to work and if the pay isn't right you leave or find another contract/deal you don't need two weeks notice to leave/quit. Tax form 1099 is business some days you make $1k as a uber/lyft driver some days probably just $100.00 because again its business and business is based on the sole purpose of supply and demand. Uber/Lyft drivers are not tax form w2 employee base model why are uber/lyft drivers demanding to be treated like a w2 tax form conpany employee. You use your own vehicle, use your own insurance own fuel money repairs/maintenance and you have the right to refuse or accept customers as a uber/lyft driver. Uber/Lyft drivers is a secondary income not a permanent and stable source of income but good for a side job second income job because of its flexibility as an independent contractor and how rideshare operates 24/7.

      Exactly. He didn’t mention any expenses which takes 60% and doesn’t account for vehicle replacement. This is what drivers always fail to foresee. His true pay is around min wage.

    This is bs I work for lyft and they are evil...I just stayed up all night trying to do a challenge. Just complete 20 rides I spent all night trying and when I had 1 ride left to complete, they kicked me off because I was on for 12 hours. I ended up making $150 total...but typically I work about 10 -12 hours a day for 6 days a week to make 800$-$1000

    This is just so wrong
    Driver make lot of money with Uber or Lyft. Those people that are crying for increase are those that don’t even drive for Uber or Lyft. I been driving Uber for 3 years now and I make 27 dollars an hour consistently. I really don’t know where this is all coming from, the Nurses and teachers are the ones that need an increase in wages. Most Uber drivers that I talked to makes at least 2000 a week driving 60-65 hours.
    Let those cry babies go somewhere and let us do our job
    WE NOT COMPLAINING

    He's correct and not accurate at the same time because a lot of this is based on the market of your area+ the times you do rideshare. I did it in Atlanta in 21' Friday-Sunday, and I was averaging $680, which isn't bad. I did it in an F150 as well, not even a lux vehicle. If you're signed on with Amazon Flex, then yeah, you could make more than the average person. Right now, I work flex and average $39/hr as a side job, so it adds an additional $400-$680 for me on top of my regular job. Don't knock gig work if you've never done it seriously

    Airport sitters will not make that much money. But, looking at the crowd that was crying about wages, its no secret they are not business people, but rather a bunch of crybabies who want a handout for not being able to get up early and their other poor choices.
