    And of all the "beating up" of students I've seen from Emin (and over years of seminars, it's been a lot), not once did he injure anyone, did anyone complain (they all loved every second of it), or did he not make it clear to everyone in the room how he was able to do what he did.

    No, I was saying that it was too bad that Emin Boztepe never entered ant MMA competitions - reffering to the subject of this clip.

  • @kwansao_uswc_videos
    @kwansao_uswc_videos 14 лет назад

    of course. there is different emphasis on certain methods based on where the style is from. ewto styles like slapping the bridge, pummeling, elbows and spine manipulation, which is different from even other WT styles.
    trained with chris chan stylists? we are close to other yip man styles. we regularly go to HK and fatshan. i've touched hands with wan kam leung and the head of the pan nam school.
    mainland styles like long range bridge, grappling, pushing and biu jee when it is not necessary.

    It's my understanding that Bruce gave up on WC because he was frustrated with his inability to beat his seniors, he didn't continue to train with other WC practitioners in the US, and he angered Ip Man by trying to bribe him - Not because he wanted to go beyond the system's "limitations." That's just what Linda Caldwell wants to sell you. You should know that wc is not a ring sport but If you want to see it winning fights look up Alan Orr from the UK. Boztepe was a bouncer not a sport fighter.

    @YongTjunTrainer
    It's a bold statement, but all indications of that appear to be correct. I've been a student of WT and EBMAS for several years, and have crossed hands with many top levels, all the way up to Leung Ting (who left a nice bruise on my arm demoing a technique on me).
    I've seen Emin make my teachers and my teachers' teachers look like rank novices, without even breaking a sweat, and no one in either WT or EBMAS questions his prowess or stature that I have ever heard.

    I'd like to hear your evidence on this. I've spoken with him personally about his reasons for leaving, spoken with other members of the organization for perspective, and when it came to choose between AWTO and EBMAS, I sided with EBMAS based on the evidence I'd heard.

    if you compare the older styles of wing chun to the modern ones they have almost nothing to do with eachother. for example chi sim or red boat wing chun with the ewto or 'blitzdefense' ....

    difference between d cage(mma) n d street(wing tzun)
    in the cage u have
    2 men dancing around moving in and out
    a ref to stop it shud it get 2 rough
    a mat to protect ur back
    and a set of rules
    on the street u have
    an enemy attacking you full of anger
    often more than 1 attacker so submissions are out coz his friends will attack u
    concrete to rip the skin off ur bak if u roll around
    chance of a weapon being used e.g knife
    no ref to stop it

  • @ultmast
    @ultmast 17 лет назад

    If you really had an understanding of Wing Tsun (like you seem to be claiming), you would know that arm reach, strength, and size, are not necessarily an advantage. I have all of those things on my Sifu, for example. Leung Ting certainly does not have those things on most of the people he trains.
    EBMAS is different, yes, but it's not about bullying. It's an attempt to take the core principles of Wing Tsun, and make them relevant in a modern context.

    "The difference is teaching is not INTENTIONALY hurting people"
    All of the professional fighters know and accept what they are getting into - it's not about hurting people, it's about testing your skill against other warriors - He does consider himself a warrior doesn't he? No fight, no warrior - unless he is the "warrior" of demos!
    "and you don't even have any DEMOS to back up yours"
    LOL - I don't need any as I NEVER claimed to be anything! That's the difference.

    @Telemorphics18 thats a hole nother thing!!in the ring you dont kick someone in the nuts or stick youre fingers in the eyes! but victore guioteresse now trains wing tsun for the ring also some people in the streets are better then some guys in the ring!! whatch kimbo bevor he gets tehre!!

  • @kwansao_uswc_videos
    @kwansao_uswc_videos 14 лет назад

    i'd love to meet him and to do chi sao! but i'm on the other side of the continent. imho, the use of terms like that is a distortion of the culture. Irregardless, EB wants nothing to do with other WC? that's kind of absurd. there's a shared lineage, techniques, training methods, etc. there's so much common ground how could that not happen? does that have more to do with his break with WT than anything else? I imagine that that does not extend to the FMA component.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    Actually, NHB IMPLIES a NO-HOLDS-BARRED match, meaning that I can do any technique I want to. Just because you and others misuse the term does not change the actual meaning. And I for one would love to see any NHB fights that Emin has been in - who cares how old they are, they would still show his techniques being applied against non-complying ukes instead of all this talk and demos.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    "William was using the threat of Di Mak death touch"
    LOL - Another Wing Chun fool.
    "That is far different then going into a cage and fighting for a mass audience"
    Like posting the clip on youtube? This is a WORLD WIDE audience with the potential to reach MILLIONS of people... You had better take this clip down right away then!!!
    I agree Emin is now too old - he can now safely use THAT excuse as well. He was a master at marketing and promotion, not fighting.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    "True Warriors walk away from unneccesary violence. I guess we just live by a different code"
    LOL - Like he did with William Cheung? I guess taking on old men is the only proof of his fighting ability he wanted to show?
    BTW, a warrior by definition applies his skill in combat, not just demos and beating on old men... SAD.

  • @kwansao_uswc_videos
    @kwansao_uswc_videos 14 лет назад

    dai si-fu? i've never heard of that. maybe you mean si-gong
    and wing tzun is one of those bastardizations of the actual name that leads europeans to pronounce the martial art wing tsoon. i have no problem with boztepe but after seeing a million of his demos against compliant non resistant students of his who are nowhere near his level of development (what does this say about his ability to teach??) i tend to get a little jaded about his actual ability.

  • @cinzahno
    @cinzahno 14 лет назад

    @Telemorphics18 hey youre answerd your question!! you see that a street fight is not the same like a kage fight!!! kimbo knock all off them in the street but in the ring hes nothing!! like you said worst fighter!! i make wing tsun 5 jears and i have many street figths and after i startet train it i have win 90% off them!!
    i make sparring with some ringer some boxer some kick boxer but there have no chance! believe me!! i dont tell storrys!!but do what you want!better for me when you make mma!!

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    LOL - More talk! I love how you think I should "grow up" when you still believe in fairies! Many people talk about their religious experiences as well, but this does not make it real. All worship the God of Fighting and the religion of Emin!

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    "I am trying to present a different point of view"
    Which is what exactly? Don't get me wrong, I think Emin COULD have been a great fighter, but as there isn't any evidence besides his WORDS, then it's hard to just believe. That is why I like watching MMA, as even with all its faults, it is there for all to see and judge for themselves. Demos and displays of technique are great for theory and practice, but without fighting it is all art and no martial.

  • @kmurdaya

    why does emin boztep always demonstrate by beating up smaller people?

  • @schazam04
    @schazam04 15 лет назад

    I often wonder why are there so many meat heads on youtube. I am even surprised there are literate. People are always talking how tough they are. Yes wing Chun is a great self defense. I know because I train with many of the the mma and pro fighters and they see how its works very well.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    You are building a great two-legged stool. Without that third leg, no matter how good those two legs are it will FAIL as a stool.
    Effective martial arts takes 3 legs:
    1) Instruction - theory and technique
    2) Conditioning - endurance, strength, body hardening, etc.
    3) Application of 1 and 2 against non-complying, fully resisting opponents
    The respect, honor, etc. parts are human philosophical traits and are not CRITICAL to becoming a martial artist, but sure help in being a good HUMAN.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    I have seen the letter that this boastful claim came from and it is available for everyone to see online. A NHB fight IS a real fight as NHB = NO HOLDS BARRED. I am older than you think, and there has been the ability to video with hand-held units since the late 60's, and challenge fights have been around since the dawn of man - nothing revolutionary about it. Are you saying that there is not ONE of these 300 fights for us to see? Hmmm... thought so.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    NHB is not my term, ask Emin why he used it. BTW, NHB fights are NOT friendly sport matches, unless you consider eye-gouging, groin/throat shots friendly. The only difference between a street fight and a NHB fight is the use of weapons and numbers. Even I can win a street fight against Emin if I was armed with a glock and had 15 feet between us :) so what is the point of that? The fact is that he claims to have won over 300 NHB fights and I was just hoping to see some footage of them.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    "Sifu Emin was known to have had hundreds of real fights in his day"
    How? Because he said so? LOL - Did you know that I once beat up the entire US Army only using a wet towel? I guess you would believe that too now that I said it? TALK and STORIES are CHEAP and MEANINGLESS.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    Oh, these were not arranged fights? He had over 300 street fights? LOL - He should have tried to stay out of trouble more :) So these were fights against no-name untrained street noobs? BAH! I thought he was fighting in arranged NHB fights against other trained fighters before the days of sanctioned organizations - oh well.
    BTW There were PLENTY of old school 'cine' film cameras around back then before the VHS was introduced, and they were relatively cheap and very portable.

    "Yet you said EB should fight in a cage"
    Your reading comprehension is as bad as your logic... I used the PAST tense, saying that I wish he HAD fought for all to see. I still would have liked to see this. Maybe he would have been a great fighter, but as the only fighting he did was with his MOUTH, or against old men, or through guys like you, we will never know.

  • @marcusorilius
    @marcusorilius 17 лет назад

    "Competitive sports attracts people that want to beat everyone, they don't seem to like cooperating with their partner"
    What a load of CRAP! This is certainly not my experience. NO MMA school would survive very long if this were true. If you guys do spar, let's see some.

  • @kwansao_uswc_videos
    @kwansao_uswc_videos 14 лет назад

    i must disagree with what you've said. nobody trains in a way that they believe will get them beat up. everybody does their best. furthermore wing tsun is a derivitive style. you should show respect for the senior students of yip man and his contemporaries and not dismiss what they were taught and their lifetime's experiences as worthless when compared to what Leung TIng teaches. chinese martial culture is respectful of the contributions of past generations for it would be nothing without them.
