All eyes are on Missing Link and Sora in todays video! With the reveal of the "Astral Plane" it calls into question whether or not this was a power that Sora used in the past. And who knows maybe The Master of Masters, Luxu, and Xehanort are aware of this as well.

The introduction to "The Astral Plane" was one of the most interesting things said in the most recent trailer. What do YOU make of all this new information?

I've been thinking a bit and now I am not so sure. Yozora didnt need to cross the boundaries of either reality or fiction, and he spoke to Sora after he'd been kicked from his reality.
Yozoras voice could also be heard.

I think Xehanorts line where he says “you’re voice can’t reach us here” was a subtle callback to Ansems line in KH1 where he tells Sora “ don’t bother your voice can no longer reach him where he is”

I think that scene with Sora is almost *definitely* an example of Astral Projection, or something similar. We can't forget the fact that that scene in Melody of Memory takes place within the year after Sora's disappearance. Assuming time moves similarly to Reality, Sora would absolutely have enough time to learn about how to use that power/technique.

So basically Sora astroprojected his spirit and possessed Kairi to help her. Sora is a genius.

the part in KH3 Remind where Sora is connecting all the doors to bring back Kairi, that's probably the Astral Realm, being at the border between Dreams (sleep) and Unreality (death). The Realm of Darkness, Sleeping worlds, and the Final World could all technically become categorized as types of Astral Planes, basically everything that isn't Reality and Unreality could simply be the Astral

  • @XeraNisim

Astral plane is the world of the celestial spheres, crossed by the soul in its astral body on the way to being born and after death. At least that’s what I found on it. Might be noteworthy

So if Mickey begins to to research Scala ad caelum, he could discover the Astral Plane. And if they learn how to access it, it could allow non keyblade users (i.e. Donald and Goofy) to travel to Quadratum?
That's my hope at least, D&G could visit Sora and the trio could still explore new worlds together.

So, one thing I make of is, if a person Astrel Projects themselves, and has a voice, then they are in the same reality. IF what Ephemer did was project himself to Sora, (in KH3) then I'd say this is why he has a voice.
I see some of you saying, maybe this is what Yozora did, in that case, he and Sora can talk to each other, cause Sora had already crossed realities by that point. I don't have further details to back this up, just trying to make sense of things.

Any time the term Astral comes up we should immediately be thinking of “Summoning”. Astralflow being the power of summoners in FF11, and in 15 the summons literally being called the “Astrals”. Often times summons are simply immortal concepts written in the stars. It may conjure the image of Sora, Donald, and Goofy being immortalized in the stars as heros in KH2 Olympus.
While KH2 and 3 used a method of summoning that brought Sora’s friends directly from their worlds, KH1’s summoning is what I want to underscore.
People with strong hearts turn into summon gems when their world falls to Darkness. Simba, or Mushu stop existing on the physical plane- but they did not die or turn into Heartless and Nobody either.
We may be able to identify this more so with the foretellers, with Ira asking Xigbar, “Did you summon us?” In fact, in Cite des Cloches, Frollo echos the sentiment when speaking to Phoebus. “I’m beginning to regret having summoned you back from the war.”
The Foretellers have strong hearts, and it is during the Keyblade War that their world fell to Darkness. It is logical to conclude their existence became a state like a summon gem.
It is clear that Simba and Mushu acknowledge their existence as summons and remember the times Sora summoned them in battle. Therefore, even if the foretellers are temporarily summoned, their interactions with Xigbar are not forgotten. I am under the impression that Summoning does require a magical conduit like the Keyblade, and there, Xigbar was unable to do this until he regained possession of a Keyblade.

So in Melody of memories Sora astral projects from unreality to reality. In missing link the player character will astral project from reality (kh universe) to unreality (quadratum/earth).

  • @KewlImp
    @KewlImp 9 месяцев назад +4

While many fans translate existence and non existence into reality and unreality, not all of us do. That doesn't even mean, that one is fake or fictional. Again, it's a matter of perception what is real or not. However, I submit the Astral Plane is a medium between the two realities. For instance, the Final World is a part of the Astral realm and possibly the dive to the heart is as well. The travel of the Gummiship could literally be the Astral Plane.

@@gracekim25My biggest hope is that it's more complex of an idea than just "I'm real and you're not". Its the reason unreality bothers me. This is literally something that could be an amazing story to tell about how we perceive our surroundings. But if it's just "I created you in a video game and you're fake" is boring.

You might be on to something. However, the japanese word used translates with "void" and not the non-existence. Indeed, it's the same word/kanji used by both Xemnas and Vanitas when they talk about the void. So i do think missing link Will expand this aspect of the lore, the void, that have been mentionned by some characters but never been shown so far
