    Very cool. That is a jig for accurately drilling holes (used a lot for dowel based joinery and accurate bolt boles for timber framing). M-star also makes an amazing looking portable drill press with all kinds of cool features (you can even use it to help cut traditional mortices by drilling a row of holes and then finishing it with a chisel).

    To get a good countersink in metal, you gotta use a microstop and something with the right size hole behind the work surface to keep it center.

    Recently I got a few Star M drill bits that are a hybrid between a regular twist bit and a brad point, they worked flawlesly and somehow leave very clean holes in most woods.

    If you like that auger bit you'll like the Wood Owl augers. They're Japanese made and come in a bunch of styles. They even have a bushcraft set. Taytools sells them.

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  17 дней назад +1

      Yes that's right. Owl is made by Star-M. I am looking into some of those auger bits, they make 600mm or 24" (nominal) long versions!

    Don't be disappointed chaps, Japanese bits are 13mm anvil, grind or cut them down to 9mm and they will lock in perfectly with your tools

    How much does blackship cost compared to amazon jp international shipping or other forwarding services? For example on average an extra 20% for the same size package

    • @mvevitsis
      @mvevitsis 19 дней назад +1

      More expensive then tenso but the problem is tenso packing is a joke... If you don't like damaged items use blackship

    When you use blackship, do you have to declare all the items? I had to do that and it was a bit of a pain.

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  18 дней назад +1

      Yes and it is the most tedious part of using these package forwarding services. I like the Blackship interface and it was about as easy as it can be, I think.

    Could you explain how blackship works. Based on your suggestion I got it. So if I use that address given me on Amazon Japan and pay 4 it in Amazon then the merchandise get shipped to that address in Japan. Then what is the next process to get it to USA from Japan Blackship to me.
    Thanks

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  18 дней назад +1

      ruclips.net/video/He--at6N6r8/видео.html There is a Blackship playlist at the end of the video, but this link I think is what you are looking for. When Amazon ships the item to your address at Blackship you'll get an email from Blackship letting you know a package has arrived. If you just want the one package then you fill in the customs info and pay them to ship it to you. If you have multiple packages coming into Blaskship you wait for them all to arrive at Blackship and then do Combine and Repack like I did in this video. That is why all the separate orders were bubble wrapped and shipped in one box to me from Blackship.

      @bzeug  18 дней назад

      @@bijanshahidi3933 I don't have that one. Closest thing I have is the ANEX Offset Adapter. This one by Merry is interesting though seems to be pretty similar to TITE-REACH that I've seen on social media, SEMA I think. amzn.to/4fvBJMQ

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  18 дней назад

      @@bijanshahidi3933 Returns would require you to work with Amazon and the 3rd party seller directly. Blackship would not be involved in a return process. I've never returned anything to Japan because shipping from USA to Japan is too expensive to justify in most cases.

    Yeah, it shows that you don’t do a lot of woodworking - please use a clamp or a vise to secure the wood before drilling it 😀😀😀

      I have a scar on my hand that reminds me every day, please use the clamp. In all fairness, I was using a clamp when the accident happened, but the clamp broke off the part of the table it was clamped to and I was too impatient to wait until I got a clamp that worked with my broken table. On the bright side, my hands now look like they’ve done some serious work. On the bad side, my hands feel like they’ve done serious work.
