      @@AlexandarShmex I ended up getting that bass 9 months ago actually, and you're right because I have been loving it! About 30 mins to an hour usually, and it got me into the local high-school rock band :) Cheers for the comment.

    The transition from the plucked hammer ons back to the A string is a real sticking point for me. Can’t wait til I’m able to play this song at full speed.

    Crazy to think that JT had only been playing bass for maybe a couple of months when he wrote and recorded this line. I generally don't believe in natural talent (hard work prevails) but maybe in this case it is true.

    Daamn das some good playing. Also make sure not to rest your right forearm on your bass, it'll cut off bloodflow and you could get carpel tunnel.

      What helped me get it is playing by ear, and not looking at the tab. Tabs just confuse me. Especially because you don’t need to do the fingering he does for it to sound good.

    Nicely done - any tips on string muting this bassline? It's driving me nuts...

    • @Low_Frequency_
      @Low_Frequency_ 6 месяцев назад

      Left hand techique is key here. Try to rest your fingers flat on the strings and only fret what you need. Playing empty stings might seem a bit trickier, but it's just a matter of opening your left hand just enough to play the string and then quickly rest it on the strings again to mute it. Reducing hand movement to a minimum also helps with the speed.
      When playing ghost notes in between the fretted notes, just lift your finger up until you no longer feel the string pushing against your finger, but still have it rested on the string.

    See why I prefer DD to DM? Cause DD have 🔥🔥🔥🔥and lots of energy in their funky bass lines, I do like DM but the bass isn't memorable, in some ways they sounds cold to me. Obviously imho & with all due respect

    La diferencia entre la música de bandas y la de hoy es que antes los sonidos los producían intérpretes humanos que conocían su instrumento bien. La música de hoy está totalmente deshumanizada porque ni la música la tocan músicos ni los que cantan son cantantes. Esto en la industria musical es como haberle dado el gobierno del mundo a forajidos y maleantes y no a personas morales y capacitadas para dirigir.

    I think the bass sound does not blend well in the song. Somewhat too low.
