How to replace a headlight bulb in Skoda Fabia, Skoda Roomster

- Changing a bulb is a quick but tricky job because access is limited. In this video I will show how to do it easily with simple step by step actions. Be careful and don't pull for the glass when taking the bulb out from the headlight as it can break. It's difficult not to do this due to access is very tight.
Never touch the glass of the new bulb or it will have a dark patch afterwards.

No, it’s awful. It doesn’t rotate anti-clockwise. The people who design cars are sociopathic.
He/she makes it look so easy, they're the most awkward bulbs I've ever had to change on a car 😅 . They don't twist out or back in with any ease whatsoever. Very frustrating and you may also have to remove the twisty bit in order to get the bulb free from the connector.
I know, the space is very tight
It’s because sociopaths become designers because they realise they cause more distress than if they had become serial killers 😂
Try changing the DRL bulb nr the batt it's impossible.
I had to leave a like for this video because the music is kickin' and makes me want to go out and change my bulbs for fun!

What you have failed to show in your video is how to take off the fuel filter! That is the main problem changing this bulb as you have to have the right sockets and they need to be very long and very special.
I did it without removing, you just have to murder your hands to get in between there

The arrow that shows which way to turn the H7 bulb was necessary to know. Happy pulling it away I did not look so much on how it was sitting, I mean how to put it back. It took a while to figure it out. For me with a Skoda Roomster there are two broader tinplates that is going under the two screws that are on each side, left and right in the middle. and when you do that the third small tinplate should be up within the space that is to the up side, that tinplate is only to keep the bulb in place, to keep the tension when you slid the other tinplates under the screws.
lol the music that makes it sound easy. For my video we’ll do some “easy” programming, and I’ll also play some easy sounding music on top 😂

I see an enormous space, while in my car it's impossible to put your hand in that place. If it would be like this than it would be easy, but now changing a bulb is a disaster.
He cheated - most of the film is about the right side there space is okish. Left (your case) is far worse.

So this are the low beam that uses h7 bulbs. What type of lights are used on the main bain?

how to change the bulb when there is the diesel filter that blocks access? I have a TDI
I have never changed the bulb in diesel car so unfortunately I can't give you any advice.

II have the TDI and the only way I could get the bulb in was by unbolting the filter housing (3 x 25 torx bolts) a bit of a pain but not as hard as first appears if you have a fairly modern socket set. I did mine when i was cleaning the earth strap which sits under the fuel filter so it was being moved anyway. Made getting the bulb out far easier.

Looks like you have removed something to gain access would have been helpful to show what and how you removed to give you the space was it the oil filter?

You have to move the bulb from side to side and than pull out

You're right, you can do it yourself within a few minutes
So if you should't touch the bulb with the fingers than with what you should touch it :)?
I meant not to touch the glass part of the bulb as it will have dark spots later. Also you can't pull for the glass as it can break. Both easy done as the access is really tight
@GregYou can do it with the glove. Be careful as the bulb is fragile and might break
As with a lot of bulbs fingers can leave a fine residue of grease, typically in the form of fingerprints and this causes the bulb to overheat and burn out. Wearing clean gloves avoids this problem. This is one of many reasons service engineers are to be seen wearing the disposable latex type gloves.
Now that you've removed the rubber cap and let moisture in. How do you remove the moisture?
The cap is not a protection from moisture as it is not hermetic. It is a protection from dust only.

I changed the bulb on mine and now I have condensation in the light.

Nie. Odłączanie poduszki powietrznej wymaga odpięcia akumulatora.

It depends. My Fabia does indeed use H4. You should always check what it says on the car itself.
