Yep, definitely part of having a tattoo. I have sleeves, entire back & fingers all tattooed and I do have blowouts. They tend to pop and be more visible when the tattoo is fresh, my blowouts kinda faded or dispersed away over time (10 years) and their almost invisible now unless you really try to see them. But when fresh like the first year I remember they were much more bold and visible. Try not to worry too much about them unless they are really really bad, it's part of a handcraft piece of art not made by a robot!

This made me feel better. Just got a gorgeous Princess Serenity (Sailor Moon) piece done. Unfortunately in some areas there are a few blowouts. At least my tattoo artist is willing to fix it by adding a contrasting colour.

I got a blowout on my chest tattoo and I’m super sad about it, my tattoo artist was also super unprofessional when I approached him about it. He told me to stop being so paranoid and to stop making it a big deal. Thanks that really makes me feel great.

jess k he's a tattoo artist . Not a tattoo God. shit happens. the bitch think she Kat Von D or something and srry she ain't got that kinda money . so it is what it is . IN MOST CASES YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR .

Sterling Joseph he could have atleast been nicer about it & try to maybe cover it up or something since it was his mistake. obviously humans make errors and it is art, but this is why a part of being a tattoo artist is being hospitable. he could have attempted to help her out.

Starting to get a tiny bit of blow out on my second tattoo and this has really eased my mind about it. The blowout is close to the elbow ditch and having you talk about it just being the nature of tattoos and their placement has made me so much less stressed about it. Really appreciate your explanation!

Something that I've been curious about but haven't been able to find any information on is very strong antibiotics. I've had two clients show me tattoos (that thankfully weren't done by me) with the largest blowouts I'd ever seen. One of them said that they needed an emergency surgery a week or so after they got a solid black tattoo, palm sized, they prescribed them strong antibiotics and the blow out appeared and it was almost the same size as the tattoo, the other person got a small script word, had to take strong antibiotics and had a blowout that was about twice as large as his design, also about a week or two after he got it. Now I know doctors prescribe antibiotics for infected tattoos with no problems and I haven't heard anything about this outside of these two incidents. Have you had any experiences like this?

  • @shinobusora
    @shinobusora 4 года назад +1

I have a blowout on the tattoo on my ribs. I'm sad about it because it's meaningful script and I was kind of worried I'd done something wrong during the healing process. It's good to know that it was just an area issue and not anything I or the artist did wrong.

Got a little blowout on my last couple bamboo tattoos. Great artist I've used before but I'm now in my 50s, so skin a lot thinner. It's a tattoo i wear with pride, ironically the 'bleed' is what the tattoo was signifying, so I accept it for what it is. Maybe one day if I've pots of money, ill get the 'bleed' lasered, but in the meantime, its part of me. A cold halo around a precious, lost time in my life.

When I did my first tattoo.. I did it on my thigh.. I studied for 6 months and probably tattoo'd over 40-50 honey dew melons. Finally went for it and did a piece on my thigh. I'm an traditional and digital artist and I would consider myself fairly skilled so I felt confident on my ability to do a fairly simple piece. Boy was I wrong.. My hands were shaking with adrenaline of not only doing my first tattoo but also doing it on myself.. I would wait for my hands to stop shaking do a line then wait again for them to stop shaking. This lasted about 30 minutes and 20% of the line work was done and it looked good so my confidence built and my hand stopped shaking. I finished the tattoo in about four hours and was very happy with it albeit my back was hurting like a sob from being hunched over my thigh for the those four hours. The next day came... It looked like I had shaded the outside of my lines with a shader.. I thought to myself ooo fuck.. please do not get worse...I didn't understand why.. my needle was at an 1/8 to 16th of an inch exposed. The tattooing process didn't hurt at all... Very little blood despite it being an all black piece with a lot of black fill. I did do all the fill with a round shader which caused me to over work the skin quite a bit but still minimal blood. I think the main culprit was because I felt rushed to get it done(had to be at work) I was angling the needle and not putting the machine at 90 degrees at a lot of places. Not only was a in a rush but tattooing yourself you are kinda limited on range of motion. Sometimes the easiest motion was with the gun straight up and down. Who knows.. Still learning.. Tattoo looks good it just looks like I have a glow around the lines which unless you are experienced it looks intentional.

Thanks for this info, Holly. I have a bunch of tattoos and recently added to my half sleeve to make it more of a 2/3 sleeve. I got a blowout on line work on the inside of my elbow. It looks like a very light, very deep (under the skin) gray haze by the line. Luckily, it is very faint, so it doesn't really bother me. I always wondered about them though and your explanation makes a lot of sense.

Question for you, Holz. Do you find that certain tattoo ink colours have different reactions to skin types? I find that the lighter colours (lime, teal) have a negative reaction and give me a small infection - taking longer to heal. is there a reason for that?

Hey. I just watched your video. Not sure if what’s happening to my tattoo is considered a blowout? Seems like it is. I just literally got it hours ago and it was absolutely perfect! It’s a combination of 3 flags inside the walls of a triangle. A adoption tattoo. One is a Canadian flag 🇨🇦. When I left the place the Maple leaf is very tiny and absolutely perfect. I was very impressed. Hours later the maple leaf doesn’t look like a maple leaf anymore? Almost looks like it’s smearing? This is only my third tattoo. My husband is covered and he looked at it and doesn’t understand what happened either? He said he thinks there’s a word for what is happening to my tattoo. It is on my forearm. In between my wrist and elbow. Hopefully you can help me maybe?? Please. I am so upset. The whole area is swollen also. I’m assuming that is normal. Thanks so much if you take the time to read this.

They do move around with your skin. So if you lose weight depending on how elastic your skin is, will determine if they will morph a lot or not much at all. As you age the ink does fade and possibly blur a bit, but if you generally take care of your skin and get touch ups every now and then your tattoos can stay looking good.

Aw I have an XO in the same place! But yeah generally it is permanent. I had some blowouts on my rib tattoo and two years later I don't see it as much at all anymore even though it was pretty bad.

@@eatnbypeasoup hi Hannah I just got a tattoo on my ribs just a small script one and it's blowing out and none of my other tattoos have done that. You said after a few years it faded a lot? Did you have it touched up at all afterwards? Would really appreciate any info I'm so sad about mine but i hear ribs are tricky

recently there was a traditional flash weekend at my shop and i picked out a piece that was about $300. however the flash was colour, and i wanted to be in black/grey. after it was done i liked it, but i felt like i had been overcharged as the black/grey was quite different from what I had seen on the original flash, in terms of shaded areas. it felt quite "bare" to me, but I dont know if I should even bring up this topic with my artist. should i even say anything? I'm still getting another piece soon (i have been with this artist for about 1 year+ and his works are all good).

Can you tattoo over a blowout? My dad had some words on his inner forearm and it had a blowout on a couple of the letters.

what exactly would you like to know?

Holly Astral What I would like to know is how many conultations to expect. What to bring to the consultation. The artist that I've chosen is pretty amazing. He goes by the name Potter. He workes here in Toronto. I am more than happy to give him full reign. Do you think it's OK to just give him a few words such as skulls, dragons, roses, and smoke he will be OK with that ?

If someone tattoo's blown out trash they get smashed. That's what you do about it. They will learn to stop tattooing garbage.
