I grew up in Crouch End in the 1970's. It was a working class area, very different from today. It still feels like home though, whenever I go back and see the Clock Tower.
I’m glad it feels like home!
Amazing area
Yeah!
Nice video. A great contrast from when I lived there as a child in the early 1950s. It was then rather rundown due to the ravages of WW2 and food rationing was still prevalent. The only still -recognisable shop is Dunn's the bakers. In my day, few people owned private cars and there weren't any coffee shops as such - just the odd cafe. There were however more food shops: no supermarkets but individual butchers, wet fish shops, greengrocers and fruiterers, dairy products shops and general grocers. Thank you for showing us what it is like now.
You’re welcome!
I started work at Dunn's the Baker's as a Saturday shelf stacker aged 14 then an apprentice 1958 to 1963. 💂🏼
I quite like The parkland walk and Queens Wood
Great scenery!👍💙
I’m glad you like it 😊
Good to hear that you are familiar with the area
