- The NYMR once again steps up and hosts an all out action Autumn gala featuring three visiting locomotives which all put on some memorable performances up the 1/49 Bank and beyond Goathland. The three guests were of all big interest to the avid enthusiast with Great Western Saint class Lady Of Legend topping the Bill as the star guest. The relatively new loco would have a mixed weekend of fortunes and after a shaky start the Great West Westerner finally came good. An engine that would have no issue with the Moorsline would be the former LMS and BR 8F 48305 arriving from the Great Central Railway. The 8F would be the star of the show for many enthusiasts with some excellent performances especially when doubled headed with 5428 where it was required to haul the whole train including an almost dead Black Five. The final guest was LNER 60163 Tornado which is no stranger to the NYMR and as expected was on fine form. A few of the home fleet are featured but the main coverage is focused on the visiting engines.
Another fantastic display from the North York Moors Railway for all concerned and we enjoyed our time on the trains and behind the camera. I hope you enjoy the sights and sounds of the one of the finest preserved railways in existence.
18.01 is the 8F with 5428, not the 9F & 20.00 is again the 8F, not the 9F as captioned, apologies. - Авто/Мото
You people in England sure got some very beautiful live steam Locomotives.....Thanks...From Kentucky USA...😀💜👍👀
I'm very appreciative that people still taken the effort to capture the majesty of these iron horses. I have the privlage of going to see all of these beauties this summer!
Watching in Australia wishing I was back there watching it live 👍💕
Some amazing footage and a fabulous sound track... based purely on Noise, I think the 8F would be star of the show for me!!!!
Fabulous video of these Magnificent machines from the past, thankfully they were Saved from being scrap iron like many others that were not so lucky!
Being an expat living in Brisbane Australia. I envy you for the opportunity you have to see these beautiful engines live. It's only thanks to the Internet that I can enjoy them. Thank you for sharing it with me
Super work Mr Marsh. I enjoyed the different filming perspectives.
Well, that was a fantastic compilation, with some great long shots, and also leaving the camera running to capture the sounds of the locos working hard once out of sight was just what i would do!
Thanks for a great compilation.
Another Superb production. Grateful thanks to all concerned!
Absolutely superb! Much appreciated from Germany!

Wow, thank you. You're most welcome. All the best.
Fantastic. Very well filmed and a very enjoyable watch
The 8F put up an awesome performance. I wonder if the crews were trying to think of ways that they could keep it ...
No. 2999 was doing a good job with 7 coaches at the end there, considering it was BR Class 4 with 6' 8" wheels.
I don't think G. J. Churchward would have approved of those smoke emissions from8:30though ... 🙅♀️
An artist's eye...superb work
Great job. Ten thousand stars up.
Brilliant !
Excellent film, well impressed.
Cheers Robbo, hope you're well !
great video
i was there a few weeks before that happened
Great engines ,so little zoom on engines and rods and wheels. I know hauling carriages gives them purpose. Remember these are wonderful external combustion engines. Coal combusting. Cheers thanks . Keep working on it. Love the countryside and rail structures. jeff

Hi Very good indeed....Dave
Mint video however some loco description in vid are wrong
Go Great Western.
Tornado whistle needs to be on my ring tone. I just took pictures and did not take any videos. 5 locomotive rides was enough for one day.
...Wait a minute...I recognize the pattern of the paint scheme for tornado...Could this be a teaser for the return of this locomotive being painted back into blue again?!!!! :D
There will be at least 487 jigsaw puzzles created from screen shots of this video.
Was that the Royal Train headcode on 65894? 😀
really enjoyed the vid but can you get the titles right 18.28 8F & class 5 20.34 was the 8F not what you put
Yes, an error but unfortunately it can't be changed. The 8F was labeled correctly in other scenes, just not those two. Time constraints on the editing did not help.
18.04 - you are confusing an 8F with a 9F - 46xxx is an 8F, while 92xxx is the 9F! (and the same again at 20.08). :-) - - I see you corrected yourself in the notes that I read afterwards!!
This it was happens when you're in need of sleep and you edit videos late at night.
