  • Zeus presents Rambo - First Blood Part II (un-emulated) for the C64, a true classic from the golden era of C64 gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game.
    Year of release: 1986
COR BLIMEY! What a thumping soundtrack this game has not including the awesome loader music.
Some time ago I uploaded the music of this game but now it's about time I uploaded the full game in UNemulated style :-)
This game is hard as nails, well I think it is anyway, the enemy attack you from all sides with venom to the point you'll find yourself spending most of the game concentrating running away rather than the mission it'self which is to bust through the concentration camp gates, collect the hostages then pile into the chopper with the hostages and fly to the landing bay,...far from easy.
This game will always be remembered as a classic just for the music alone, wonderful C64 times!
Thanks to my buddy "Kamilz" for creating the infinite energy poke so I could upload the entire game for your viewing pleasure.
I hope all you C64 fans enjoy this upload enough to click the sub button :-)
Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
I will also always state weather i am using any cheats in the game, if not mentioned then i am not using any.
Check out my channel ( / zeusdaz , dedicated to gamers who loved the games of yesteryear.
Switch to 480p for best video quality and feel free to leave comments on my channel and vid's.
Keeping the memory of the C64 and it's cool games alive!!!

such fond memories, one of my favourite games on C64. 3:39 music still gives me goosebumps to this day all these years on. God I wish I could go back to my childhood and relive these memories with my father :(

I remember loading this game up for the first time with my friend Jeff. We had just bought the disc and were about to start the game when the title screen / loader music just made our jaws drop. Then, as you say, it gets even better when the high scores start scrolling up. Chills indeed! Martin Galway, Rob Hubbard and Ben Daglish are 3 of the best ever.

Yeah, that menu music really sticks with you. Even after three and a half decades I still get flashbacks to sitting in a chilly flat in New Farm back in 1989.

The soundtrack for this game is incredible.

You can get an emulator for c64 and play the game on your pc again. Long live Commore. The best machines of all times, C64 and Amiga. For the positive memories, Commodore was fun.

A timelessly amazing soundtrack, thanks so much for this. I don't know if it is just pure nostalgia, but there was just something magical about the C64's SID music chip and the early digital synth sounds produced by it, that could not really be improved by increasing the fidelity. And then when you consider this entire soundtrack was what, something 4kb? Way less than an empty MS word doc, for example. It's like... there used to be 'game music' in the 8 bit, 16 bit era, and now games just use standard 'music' (not really particular to gaming, not like the old stuff was, as a separate genre). For example the amazing Civ IV soundtrack that won a Grammy, it wasn't really 'game music', it was amazing regular full orchestra and vocalist music, that was used in a game. Not the same thing.

Hear hear. The 8bit era was unique in that sense

Ohhh, memories....memories....I was a little kid....7 or 8....when I watched my brothers playing this.
Now they have kids on their own...and they're playing something totally different...they will never get to know how I felt in those days...it was a new world I entered back then...
This music is so awesome...burned in my mind forever...

The title screen music is beautifuly creepy at the start, and at the very end. A bit like Driiler in that it instils a sense of dread and doom. The ingame music inspires the player to greater heights in what was quite a difficult game.

One of the first games where you could destroy environment, not just enemies. Once you got those explosive arrows you were practically OP.

Good upload. You initially were ment to use the knife or normal arrows in the first part so you didn't startle the enemy, but we all went in full guns blazing and blew everything up, lol! It would have been good if you could go to the other areas on foot, as you can't get across the river. I remember there was a bug in the game when in the helicopter, where you could go to the village across the river.

I remember as a kid there was a poke which gave you a music playback mode where each key on the C64 mapped to a sound effect or tune from the game.
It was awesome and I would make my own mix by hitting various keys hehe.
Does anyone remember the poke or cheat to activate this mode? I think I got the poke from the back of Zzap 64 magazine.
It's really bugging me but I do remember that music mode fondly. Thanks.
