2003 NIU-Maryland Game -

NIU opened the memorable 2003 campaign with an incredible 20-13 overtime victory over No. 15 Maryland in the home opener. Steve Azar sent the game into an extra frame after hitting a 25-yard field goal with 1:12 left in the game. Quarterback Josh Haldi connected with Dan Sheldon on a 20-yard touchdown pass in overtime to give the Huskies the win.
