I can’t thank you enough! I was stressing about visiting the underground and tickets and everything literally. But now I know what to do. You are amazing!
Glad I could help! However, since I made that video, I am hearing a lot from people about how hard it is to get these tickets. Book as far in advance as you can!
I've spent many hours trying to find Colosseum tickets that include priority access, underground, and arena. The one in the description doesn't mention priority access. And as for the official ticket website, I've checked it daily and there are never any tickets available regardless of the date. Any other options?
I’ve just tried booking thins on the official website for November but there doesn’t seem any dates available for November. Do they only release them so many dates ahead? I hope it’s open on November
Hello, thank you for the information. I have a question. I will be in Rome next month and I would like to buy this full experience ticket. My question is when I checked the website mentioned, I only see tickets. I have heard it is very useful to have audio guide to experience Colosseum and ruins better to understand things better. Is the ticket includes audioguide? Or do I need to buy seperately from the website?
Yes the Full Experience is still available but they are not releasing tickets only for the immediate future. So if you don't see availability, keep checking back. None of these tickets includes audioguide. You can easily purchase an audioguide on site.
@@Romewise I see. Thank you for the update. I guess we will have to just get the full experience with the arena ones this time. Maybe on the next trip we will. I heard and also watched your videos regarding colosseum and it seems chaotic to wait. Or can you buy it seperately from a different place like where they deliver the audio guides?
@@muratbilen5249 It's not too chaotic to buy the audio guides once you are inside. Just go in normally and ask where the booth is for getting the audio guide. DOn't worry, it's quite simple!

Hi Elyssa, how to I purchase the kids full experience tickets (with the tour or without), I only find the kids free ticket option under standard tickets category. May I reserve the standard tickets for the kids, and let them join me with the full experience tour? Many Thanks.
Hello Jocelyn, the way to get kids' tickets has changed. Now, you must purchase your own tickets and then on the day of your visit, you go to the Colosseum, and pick up your kids' free tickets there. There are ticket booths along the wall just outside the Colosseum and you can get them there. If they are teenagers, be prepared to show proof they are under 18.
Thanks so much. Yes, this has changed. Now, when you book with Coopculture, you can book just an accompanied visit, as we did, or you can book a guided tour. And of course you can also book a tour with an outside agency. The visit that is unguided, but accompanied, is 22 Euros.
Hey Elyssa. I'm visiting Rome on the 25th of July and you're videos are super helpful. They really helped me organize my trip! I really wanted to visit the underground but our tickets got cancelled due to G20 preparations so since there are no available tickets for July we got a full experience ticket but for the arena only.It was a shame because we really wanted to see it but not that big of a problem.Love your positive energy ! Keep making those videos they are super interesting and easy to watch!
Thanks so much for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoy my videos and find them easy to watch and helpful. That's the idea! Sorry to hear you were not able to visit the underground but I think you will still really enjoy the visit to the arena and also to the Roman Forum/Palatine Hill. Have a great trip to Rome!
Hi, I am trying to book via copculture site and doesn't let me add the tickets (full undergroung), the day I choose are available few spots, but when I add the tickets, always appears as empty bag. :(
I'm not sure why you are having this problem. I would suggest to keep trying, to try using a different browser, or if none of that works, to write to CoopCulture. You can also book via an outside tour or ticketing agency, although it will cost a bit more. Hope you get it worked out!
@@Romewise thank you so much, you were right!, trying other browser was the solution, only i couldn't have the English tour, I will practice my italian :)
Great video & thanks for sharing! Are the 4th and 5th upper levels of the Colosseum re-opened to the public already? During my 2019 visit, I bought the then " full experience " ticket which covered the hypogeum, arena, and 3rd/4th/5th levels of the belvedere. On the actual day, they told us that the 4th and 5th levels were closed until further notice.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. The 3rd level is open, however the 4th and 5th levels have been closed to visitors for a couple of years and they will likely not reopen very soon. They determined that there was some structural damage that made these levels unsafe and they are working on fixing that, but there is no scheduled date yet that they may reopen. For now, we will just have to be continue enjoying the first 3 levels, plus the newly opened underground. But you can be sure that when they do reopen the upper levels, I will make a new video for you guys!
I had read about the opening and was waiting for your video tour! I hope you did not feel like a dead gladiator upon exiting. And, yes, I can imagine if one takes the time to think about what it must have been like for the gladiators and animals down there...scary and horrifying. Grazie for another informative and well made video. Am hoping to visit Roma in 2023. Stay safe, healthy and please keep making videos. Someday, these videos might be the only environmentally responsible way to "travel." Oh, I guess we're already at the day or way past the day. Sigh.
Thank you for your kind comments. I'm so glad to know you were looking forward to my video about this site. I have a vivid imagination and every time I visit a site in Rome, I can't help but put myself there, as it might have been once. I hope you can come back to Rome when you want to!
Oh Thank you Elyssa!! Im so grateful...to see the brick patterns, the small arches..where possibly men leant against, maybe praying, crying, in deep thought... I bet the energies felt alot different underground! Do they do underground tours at night? That I would like to do! Do you know if things were found underground? ONE THING!! Where can I buy that mask from you are wearing? The Roman one?
Hello Diane and thanks as always for your kind words and support. Yes, as of July 18, they are beginning night visits to the Colosseum, and these will include a visit to the Hypogeum (underground) as well. The mask I am wearing is a Romewise mask. You can find it in my shop. There is a link in the description. If you get one, I hope you enjoy it!
Well I do like the 2 day thing because I too have gone in July its definitely a lot, it's really hot walking around the forum. There is no shade like Pompeii no where to hide from the sun haha. But this is something I would definitely want to do!
It's true, in summer it can be very hot and there is very little shade at the Colosseum. You will find shade at the Palatine Hill, so it's best to visit the Colosseum in morning or late afternoon, and the Palatine Hill in the middle of the day.
Hi Elyssa! My husband and I are leaving this Saturday for Rome and we have been watching many of your videos over the past few weeks! One question we have: currently we have full experience tickets with an Italian tour. Unfortunately, we don't speak Italian. If we can't score tickets for the English tour, we planned to just buy an official audio guide and use it with Rick Steves' app. Today, I noticed there's an official Parco Colosseo app that offers free audio guides, numbered 1-6 (arena and above) and 101-106 (underground). I see 104, 105, 106 appeared in this video of yours. Based on your experience, do these 12 tracks cover the full audioguide locations inside the Colosseum? If so, we will just use the app (which is so much easier to use with Airpods).
Thank you for letting me know you enjoy my videos! First of all, if you have a tour booked, you can't just leave the tour. It's not possible to visit the underground on your own and wander around. However, I have heard from many visitors that they book the Italian tour because they can't get the English tour and sometimes it can happen that the guide realizes that most people on the tour do not speak Italian, and sometimes either offer the tour in English or at least offer some of the information in English (if they do have italian speakers on the tour, they have to give it in Italian, but if they have time, and are so inclined, they could offer some info in English also.) I would suggest using the Parco Colosseo app's guides also. However, I have never used it to visit the Colosseum so do not know if it covers everything, but I would imagine it does. I'd suggest downloading the guides and bringing them with you, but just realize you can't go on your own through the underground.
Yes it's become very difficult to get these tickets since I made this video. Here is a newer video with more advice about how to get Colosseum tickets: ruclips.net/video/Jvr5UDCKysI/видео.html Hope that helps!
Unfortunately they closed for individuals. Nowadays you have to book it months before to go with a group.DO NOT GO THERE AND BUY THE NORMAL ENTRANCE TICKET! Because you won't have access to this floor. Only with a tour leader you can go.
Thanks for your comments. It's true it's impossible to purchase any tickets on site now. All tickets must be purchased in advance. The individual tickets are indeed available, however, due to extreme demand and short supply, it's often hard to find those tickets. I have an updated video all about Colosseum tickets in which I talk about this. I'm sorry you were not able to get the ticket you wanted. Thanks again for taking the time to comment about your experience.
Dont book with these guys. We booked the underground tour in teh AM and they moved it 4 hours later which we cannot do as we leave Rome. they refuse to refund us. So be warned!! they dont care about customers (but happy to take your money). Absolutely terrible experience!!!
That's terrible! Whoever you booked with should have offered you the option of moving the time or the option of refunding your money. Did you book with Get YourGuide, Viator, TripAdvisor, or a similar company? Or did you book directly with a specific tour company? I would escalate this and make sure they refund your money. I would suggest you also take it up with your credit card company. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience in Rome and specifically with this tour. I hope you can resolve this and at least get your money back.
What crap. Should keep camera a- while while shooting. If not, the viewers will be in a quandary of what they are looking at. It seems blurry and quick paced shots. Get me.

@@Romewise Do you happen to know anyone by any chance? Based on your videos, these are the sights I would like to visit:
Santi Cosma e Damiano - Free to enter, €1 per person to visit the original church in the lower level
Santi Apostoli - Free to enter
Santuario Madonna Dell Archetto (Open 18:00 to 19:00) - Smallest in Rome - Her eyes moved and cried
Saint Peter in Chains (has michelangelo statue of moses)
Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e del Martiri (Last Michelangelo's ceiling work - used to be a bath ruin - Gregory calendar, suns location) - Beautiful
Santa Maria della Vittoria
San Bernardo alle Terme (circular churt, part of baths of diocletian)
San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane (makes the most of the smaller spaces, visit inside and the coy)
Palazzo Barberini (two staircases) - Free
Capuchin Crypt (bones of monks on the wall)
Palazzo Zuccari (House of the mosters) on your way up to the top of Spanish Steps
@@honiaazizi421 Yes, I recommend you start here. They have excellent guides and can help you put together the tour you want:

Thanks for your kind comments!
Looks like it's time to visit the Colosseum again! ;)
Great video. I thought you could only get the underground tour with a guide and it was not something you could do unaccompanied. Has this changed?
@@fiorella3470 Glad it worked out! Enjoy the visit!
@@Romewise Yes, I would certainly look forward to your videos if the 4th & 5th levels are reopened!
Does the underground smell, like of mildew or mold?
No not at all. It's actually more open than "underground", so there is chance for odors to accumulate.
Where’s all the stairs and seats to the colosseum!?
They are long gone after all these centuries.
However, I have heard from many visitors that they book the Italian tour because they can't get the English tour and sometimes it can happen that the guide realizes that most people on the tour do not speak Italian, and sometimes either offer the tour in English or at least offer some of the information in English (if they do have italian speakers on the tour, they have to give it in Italian, but if they have time, and are so inclined, they could offer some info in English also.)
I would suggest using the Parco Colosseo app's guides also. However, I have never used it to visit the Colosseum so do not know if it covers everything, but I would imagine it does.
I'd suggest downloading the guides and bringing them with you, but just realize you can't go on your own through the underground.
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
another nice video
Thank you so much!
Coop culture doesn’t let me select any dates :(
Yes it's become very difficult to get these tickets since I made this video. Here is a newer video with more advice about how to get Colosseum tickets:

Hope that helps!
Wow ❤️
Thank you!
Awed ❤
This Chick never showed The Coliseum. She just talked 😡
Thank you for your constructive comments.
What crap. Should keep camera a- while while shooting. If not, the viewers will be in a quandary of what they are looking at. It seems blurry and quick paced shots. Get me.
