The South Korean automaker Hyundai recently graced the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show with the quirky Inster city car (or mini SUV), an all-electric version of the Casper set to launch worldwide in the near future.
It's going to be an interesting fight in Europe, for example, where Dacia sells the recently refreshed Spring all-electric city car - one of the cheapest EVs in the world. But over in America, Hyundai could not care less about crowded cities and their need for cheap EV transportation means - their lineup starts with the larger Venue, which is also one of the most affordable models in the United States ($19,900) and also ICE-powered.
Anyway, customers may not be interested in that one, either, because Hyundai is diligently preparing the LX3 second generation of something cooler - the big Hyundai Palisade mid-size three-row crossover SUV. Twinned with the even more popular Kia Telluride, the mid-size CUV has been around since 2018, and after a facelift for the 2023 model year, Hyundai doesn't want to let it grow long in the tooth beyond the 2025 model year.
This unofficial rendering features the latest cues observed from spied prototypes, and it's clear that Hyundai wants a more premium appearance for the Palisade successor - but we're not so sure that they will actively emulate the looks of the latest Land Rover Range Rover as seen in this hypothetical CGI when viewing the rear three-quarters POV. The Palisade is currently one of Hyundai's most popular SUV models. With a spacious and functional trunk, this vehicle is the largest vehicle Hyundai has ever made. The Hyundai Palisade will pose a major threat to other three-row crossovers on the market. The 2026 Palisade will definitely have the most advanced safety and entertainment systems on the market, considering Hyundai's reputation for producing vehicles with a lot of features. There is high anticipation that the Palisade will be an attractive, spacious and feature-rich family vehicle. The revitalized Palisade will change minds with its bold new design. Featuring an alternative light bar and LED taillight cluster, the design is initially reminiscent of the new Kona. For 2026, Hyundai has not revealed the price of the Palisade. However, we estimate the starting price of the 2026 model to be around $36,400, comparable to the starting price of the current 2024 model. The 2026 Hyundai Palisade will likely arrive in dealers in late 2024. The turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, which produces more than 291 horsepower-more than the Palisade's 3.8 V6 gasoline engine-is the most commonly trusted component of this big SUV's drivetrain. A 2.5-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine will be available as an option for the hybrid. Meanwhile, diesel engines are still not well understood. Apparently, Hyundai plans to discontinue use of its new 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine.
