Look at our little Matilda skipping along to her own tune. Love them all, but she has always been a special girl. ❤️🐶❤️🐶 OR does have gorgeous beaches.
What an amazing place!! To see them being themselves running free,it's beautiful!! What great pointers to let's us know about at the beach. You're on top of things, very nice to see you and the pups at your happy place!! Love ya Lee, always!!🩷🥰🩷🥰
I love seeing the dogs off leash, having the time of their lives. I'm so glad you're able to give them that. You're doing the two things that are necessary to have off-leash dogs at the beach RESPONSIBLY: keeping them under control (not going after other dogs or people) and cleaning up after them. They have great freedom and such a good life at the sanctuary, but there's nothing like a change of scenery. 🙂
I agree with most of that but when he said, "when my dogs go up to a leashed dog...", my blood pressure went up a notch. My dog is reactive, so I would have her leashed and would expect people to be able to control their dogs enough to keep them away from mine. We all have a right to go to the beach. *That said, if I saw 10 unleashed dogs, I wouldn't go near that section of beach because it would be too stressful for both of us.*
@gndaubs Yes, I did wonder about that too. I think Lee is trying to find the balance between keeping total control of the dogs and giving them the freedom to run and play on the beach. It's never going to be perfect. He goes early in the morning and only takes dogs that come when he calls, etc., so he's trying his best. I just love to see how happy the dogs are.

How is it possible that some people DON’T know the Asher House 😅😅. I make sure everyone in my neck of the woods know what a beautiful soul you are ❤❤❤❤😊
*Leash law fan here.* ◼ I used to take my leash-aggressive spaniel to our local public parks, all of which have visible "leash law" signs. Despite these signs, there were always some people who ignored them, because, as they always excused their actions, "My dog is friendly" or "My dog is old" or both. *They could not get it through their heads that MY dog did not feel safe when THEIR friendly, old dog invaded his space.* And a scared dog may respond to the invasion of their space by going into defense mode (growling, snapping, biting). But you cannot get some people to understand this, regardless of what you tell them. My main workaround was to try to take my spaniel to parts of the park, or to other places, where he was less likely to be accosted by other dogs (or kids) entering his space.◼Also, there are actually people, often kids (like my niece), who are afraid of dogs. And I know that just because someone's dog is off-leash, that doesn't mean the dog won't bite or chase a scared person. As a young kid, I was once chased by the neighbor's German shepherd, who nipped at my ankles. I was scared spitless. Today I look back and realize that the dog was just doing what shepherds are bred to do--herd livestock (or kids!) by nipping at the ankles. But I did not realize it back then.
Thank you for pointing this out. I was concerned when Lee commented on his digs approaching a leashed dog. I would be very angry. No dog should approach a leashed dog. Leashed dogs often feel threatened because they are trapped by the leash. Please Lee keep that in mind. I love dogs but will send death stares to a loose dog that approaches me & my leashed dog. I had an animal testing rescue beagle. He could never be off leash & took evasive action any time we saw another dog.
Totally understand Andy, many dogs love stealing my rescue’s ball when we go to play fetch, I often times just ignore it and laugh because they’re all just dogs being dogs and doing what they love, chasing balls!
We only allow our lab off leash on our own beach or one that is completely deserted. If we spy people with or without dogs…back on he goes! He has excellent recall. However, since I am a huge supporter of The Asher House, if I encountered Lee with his dogs, I would feel completely comfortable allowing Apollo to join in the fun!

I was a dog trainer and even did k9 in the military. Leash laws are in place for a reason. They are for your safety, your dogs safety, and the safety of others. I used to train hunting dogs, and in my state, if your dog is actively working or actively training, they can be off leash. I would never allow a clients dog off leash unless i knew for a fact this dog has a good recall and can listen well from a distance. I own a small farm out in the country, and we get a huge turnover of citiots who think that they don't have to keep their dogs on a leash. I have neighbors whose cows get attacked. I've had my horse and goats get attacked. I even lost one of my standard poodles because another dog came into our yard, started a fight, and my dog was hit so hard that his stomach flipped and we had to have him put down. As far as this guy, he has the right message, but i dont believe he is being responsible enough. His dogs should not be going up to other dogs, especially other dogs who are on leashes. This is a safety hazard and could get the other owner seriously injured. He has too many dogs off leash to be able to realistically control them all. I would bever allie more than 2 dogs off leash unless i was on an active hunt. I used to work with K9s, and we weren't even allowing highly trained bomb detection dogs off leash, so think about that. And if you're one of these people who mives out to the country and thinks it's ok to have your dog off leash, remember, in most states, property owners have a right to shoot your dog. So if you want to keep him safe, keep him on your own property and on a leash.
I have also a dog named Hank. Mathilda is one of my favorites in your pack. I wish you a blessed new year with happy and healthy dogs. For the leashes. As my dog is sometimes a little stubborn regarding his recall when there are other dogs involved, I have him on the leash if we meet other people or dogs in the forest. We working on this. He is not aggressive, but he likes to dominante other dogs and if he meet the wrong dog, it might be escalating. In our town you have to have your dog always on the leash.
If we could trust every dog parent's judgement, a no leash law would be great! But many rescues are learning how to trust and aren't open to interacting with any/every dog. I use to have a rescue who was wary of certain dogs, especially those she didn't know. On our walks sometimes we would run into dog parents' whose dogs were off leash illegally and as their dog was running towards mine, they would say "Don't worry, my dog is friendly!" I'd have to say "That's great, but my dog isn't always." She didn't always appreciate a dog coming into her personal space so abruptly.
@@kate1830 Same here.. mine can be reactive (more so with me walking her than with my roommate) because another dog came after her once when we were out and she goes into "protect Mommy" mode. We, too, are working on it, but it takes time. Also, I agree with the "only when there IS a leash law". I'd have to go when there aren't others around, which would be difficult.
Agreed, the ⛱️ beach is the best place to be. Just the sounds of the 🌊 is calming 😊 It is a dream to live by one some day. 🙏 God bless 🙌 living the best life, saving lives 💞one step at a time. ❤ 🐾 🐶🐱🐷🐮🐇🦜🦎🐾🥰💓

LOVE LOVE these beach walks! I really think the waves can be sleepers and sneakers if you’re not paying attention. It looks amazing out there and I’m happy for you and Sara and the pups and congrats to your bro, bro🫶🐾🐾❤❤❤
Teddy! I never forget how he came to your live. He looks gorgeous and happy!. Such a wonderful day!. LOVE and good care can change everything. Cheers Lee and Sara❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
What a handsome fellow. Being proactive when you have history is key, too many people let their guard down and the poor dog pays for it. It’s a good reminder to stay frosty with our toothy companions.
I love you Lee and all that you do, but I must respectfully make a complaint. My dog does not get along with other dogs, which is why he is leashed. I absolutely LOSE IT when an unleashed dog runs up to us while walking (not on the beach, but anywhere, especially on the back trails here in CO), and the owner is always saying, "It's okay, he's friendly!" Yeah? Well, my dog isn't. Glad to know, that you and your dog are living life, but me and my dog just want to have a quiet walk without interruption. I get it if it's an "unleashed" area. I just wouldn't go there. Easy peasy. But just in random areas, where there are leash laws... drives me insane.
I agree, that makes sense! I'm just speaking more generally of off leash areas. Everyone should read the dog and owner's body language and be respectful of reactive dogs. Have a great day!
So your comment is pointless then isn't it? He is in a known unleashed area and as such if you and your dog aren't able to deal with that it's you who shouldn't be there or at least have your dog muzzled. If you really want to enjoy such places get some help and training for your dog so it isn't the problem, or just stick to leashed areas
@@markbetteridge313 Perhaps I'm saying this wrong. I'm not bashing Lee, or The Asher House in any regard. The Asher House is amazing and has my full adoration. I just wish that it would be made clearer by respected orgs, such as The Asher House, that just because HIS dogs can be off leash, doesn't mean EVERYONE can have off leash dogs. And my dog was attacked as a puppy by an off leashed dog. That is why he doesn't do well with other dogs. I will not muzzle my dog just to make other people feel better. Trust me, I avoid other people like the plague because of that incident. We try and walk alone and if I even see another person/dog anywhere near us, I avert my route. But if THEIR dog sees me first, its game over.
Maybe suggest you reread peoples posts before you remark. You chastised this poster who was very clear that he does stay away from unleashed areas. Plus many people who "think" they have great control over their dogs recall pretty much don't. @markbetteridge313
@@markbetteridge313Is it really so hard to show a little compassion and understanding, instead of giving in to the wisenheimer urge? I could understand what he meant, and his comment was probably triggered by Lee's nonchalant way of mentioning his dogs running towards other people and dogs. Yes, maybe doesn't apply 100%, but an understandable concern nontheless, since a lot of dog owners don't differentate

I’m still smiling after watching this. You made my day, so needed this! Two of my most favorite things , the ocean 🌊 and pups🐶 ❤or I should say three that includes you! Thank you for bringing the joy to us and the pups❣️
I wish I was younger.... I would camp at your gate hoping to adopt Matilda. She is just so cute. They are all lovely dogs. Some look like they are so thankful for having a home and caregivers.
These dogs living their best life just makes me want to do a happy dance of my own! Matilda's is much cuter tho😃 Im not mad at you Lee for having the camera too close 😊😬
They are so happy and free when they are in the beach. I think it can be difficult when it comes to leash laws because you can’t control the environment. There are people who should never have their dogs off leash because they don’t have the control over them that is necessary. If your dogs are well behaved with great recall then I don’t see a problem. But, there are people who don’t have that kind of recall with their animals, and maybe they aren’t used to other dogs to the point they are safe with them off leash. Sephie stays on leash because she has reactivity with big dogs after trauma as a pup. I don’t think she realizes how big she is. But, at the end of the day it’s on the owner and how well they have the dogs trained. I love watching them run on the beach, they are living their best lives. My fave is when Matilda is at the beach, she just loves every second of her life!
Totally agree…..it’s all about being responsible, considerate and as you stated always leaving a place in better condition . That’s a small consideration in order to allow the dogs to run free to enjoy the beach and this precious sanctuary . You’re always very attuned and acutely aware of other people and it’s obvious very respectful to the people around you. If everyone had these qualities there would be very little need for leash laws in any states.
I don't get to go to the beach as much as the fur kids. But I'm not too jealous. Please bring Matilda to the beach. Love to watch her in the water. You're the best. Hugs and kisses to all the fur kids. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing. So beautiful to watch them playing and enjoying themselves. Blessings to you for all that you do for the dogs, knowing that they are safe, and happy. Namaste.
I love the California beaches are mostly owned by the state but nearly all of them require leashes. I'm glad for that where there are environmentally sensitive areas, nesting birds, etc. Dogs can really create havoc there. I wish there were more off-leash areas though.
The Oregon coast is so gorgeous, and you can often find that you have the place to yourselves. The dogs clearly love it. Pure joie de vivre. Thank you for giving them that. I know they give it back to you in spades.

IT NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME THAT YOU REMEMBER EVERY SINGLE ONE OF ALL YOUR ANIMALS NAMES!!! THAT RIGHT THERE TELLS ME HOW MUCH YOU LOVE EVERY ONE OF THEM!!! YOU ARE A VERY SPECIAL ANGEL LEE! AND SUCH AN INSPIRATION FOR US ALL!!! MUCH LOVE FROM LANCASTER COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I always keep my dog on a leash when we're out. She is good about staying with us (she's usually one of those "velcro dogs"), but she can develop selective hearing loss if something grabs her attention. Knowing that dogs on leash can be more protective/defensive, we give plenty of room to other dog walkers. That is not possible when THEIR dogs are off leash, and I have come across many who are so far ahead of their owners that you can't even tell they are with anyone. I admit that it does aggravate me quite a bit! We mostly visit parks that require dogs to be leashed, not that that always means they are. I would assume that dogs will be loose on a beach, so would be very cautious. It requires understanding on both sides.
I just watched the Video when Lee 1st met her and instantly fell I luv with her. He was so emotional and felt an instant connection with Matilda. She is just the sweetest Lil girl who warms the Hearts of all of us...I luv the Beach too Lee. Even when it's chilly out it really is a special place for some peeps and their Pets.💖
OMG how adorable Matilda is. She's a sweetheart. I love them all. Hugs and kisses to all your babies. You do such a great job Lee. God Bless You, Sarah and Your Staff❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
To watch you running free with the dogs, it must feel exhilarating to be in nature speeding along! Interesting about the laws and other peoples' views, as often people who are more cautious see potential dangers. But it's good to know where you stand with you're own dogs in this situation, you're very respectful towards others. Looks like a beautiful day, hope you're having one ❤.
Little Bear is my favorite and Lucy how I missed her ❤ I'm glad she found a forever home Ty Lee for your 😘 for dogs and other animals 🙏🐨🐻😊♾️🏡🏠😁😺😌 I miss pom pom❤
What a fun day!!! Lee, you just keep being you!!! You do the right thing, don’t worry about what others think, just do your!!! You are the best person ever for the beautiful fur babies!!! Just do you!!! This world is lucky to have you 👍🙏❤️
That’s a wonderful Blessing to be able to run them on the beach without a leash. We live in NC we can only go to certain beaches at certain months with our boy. As long as the dogs are well behaved. Our dog has issues with being aggressive unfortunately so he has to be on a leash most times. Unless there are no dogs around.

Keep it up Lee. I appreciate what you are doing for animals in need. I've also learned things that make me a better friend to my boy, Yoda. Thank you for everything.
I have two old dogs and they no longer appreciate dogs running up to them. I only walk them on leash and I only go places where being on a leash is required. My dogs have been attacked so many times while on leash by off leash dogs it is frustrating. When they were young they loved the dog park but now that they are old forget it and people are so rude when I ask them to leash their dogs in areas that leash required spaces.
Matilda doing her happy dance.😚

Thanks for bringing us with you to your HAPPY PLACE. Big love and Happy New Year from UK 🇬🇧
What’s good for dogs (fresh air, the beach, freedom to run) is also good for people!! ❤ I always feel better at the beach too.
Hey Matilda!!! Hope you are having fun❤
💯💯💯 Agree with you. Thank you for all you do, Lee. God bless you and all the dogs. 🙏❤️🐕🐩🦮🐕🦺🇺🇲.
There is nothing like the joy of watching dogs have fun. Thank you, Lee.
They are loving their life, and loving the ocean! A lot of love from CA!
I trully enjoy your videos, i love watching your dogs be so happy thank you for being a great person who care for the dogs. Many blessings to you.
Wish all the doggies in the world could have a little taste of what you do for yours
Matilda is so beautiful ❤
I love to see the dogs enjoy the beach but especially little Matilda. 💜💜
To be clear, I never brought my dog to an area with a no leash law. My issue is when people don't obey areas where there IS a leash law.
God bless 🙌 living the best life, saving lives 💞one step at a time. ❤ 🐾 🐶🐱🐷🐮🐇🦜🦎🐾🥰💓
❤❤seeing Matilda does my heart so good…love her so much

See you soon🎬🍿💐
LOVE LOVE these beach walks! I really think the waves can be sleepers and sneakers if you’re not paying attention. It looks amazing out there and I’m happy for you and Sara and the pups and congrats to your bro, bro🫶🐾🐾❤❤❤
God I love Matilda especially- love her coat- love them all 🇬🇧🏴
I absolutely LOSE IT when an unleashed dog runs up to us while walking (not on the beach, but anywhere, especially on the back trails here in CO), and the owner is always saying, "It's okay, he's friendly!"
Yeah?
@markbetteridge313
I also love the beach AND doggos of course!!!♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️
I love Matilda. She's so adorable. God bless you, Asher House, from Texas. Happy New Year!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Matilda looks so cute with a her little jacket!!😂❤❤❤
Man I would be so happy and excited if I seen you and the dogs on a beach,
As always they look so happy.. thank you
The world needs more people like you Lee.❤❤❤❤❤
I wish I was younger.... I would camp at your gate hoping to adopt Matilda. She is just so cute. They are all lovely dogs. Some look like they are so thankful for having a home and caregivers.
These dogs living their best life just makes me want to do a happy dance of my own! Matilda's is much cuter tho😃
Im not mad at you Lee for having the camera too close 😊😬
I’d be happy to meet you on the beach!🤗💜🌻💕🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
Matilda cameos!😍😍😍 Love all the dogs, but Matilda and Shakira definitely make my day when I see them in a video.
Ow matilda having so muh fun!
Cool onewheel-type board! I loved watching the pups run and play!
Wow I feel so much freedom, makes me happy... ❤❤
I love watching your videos ! All of your pups are living a beautiful life. Thank You !
Matilda is such a beautiful girl ❤.
Many blessing for yo and all your beautiful babies.
Everytime we see Matilda my heart just lifts seeing how happy she is xx
Your fur children are living they best life 😊😊😊
I know you shouldn’t have a favourite but Matilda is my girl, just love seeing her so much xx
Matilda rocking her jacket 😂love them all!
Love your videos!🥰

It's obvious that they enjoy the time at the beach. You can feel their freedom and love...good job ❤❤❤❤
Love you too❣️I also love everything you and your team do, and I love the intense love and compassion you have for animals in need❣️
The dogs feel your happiness at the beach, so they in turn are also Happy!

Look at Matilda go ! She is thriving. I just adore her ! Lee you have a very special dog there. She is so lucky to be in your care as well. ❤❤❤❤
