I want you to know that watching your video's has instantly changed my golf swing and now I feel so confident around coaching.... I have been searching for how to translate the feel to my students and your approach is ON TARGET! This should be the standard in golf!!! STANDARD! Love ya man, we'll meet one day.
I've seen other videos illustrating how much difference AoA makes but this goes one step further by explaining some of the feels and techniques behind changing it. Good video (as usual) and very useful to me. No mention of tee height though.
Yes visualize the feel and the shot then let the subconscious body preform the shot. I really like watching your videos they make a person think rather than telling us we have to do it this way ! We are all different mentally and physically and just need a nudge in the right direction to accomplish a goal. Thanks for the nudge !!! 😊
Treasure trove , gems gifting the pearls of real wisdom. Gracias. Mind body and laws of physics. Lovely way to lead to the right picture and kick in the creative imagination. Driver is the perfect example as the ball is sitting up and AoA can be discussed in simpler terms , however it gets confusing when it comes to irons although same laws apply so requesting you to do a session based on irons so small artists like me can move ahead to yet another higher purpose. Bravo.
As per usual, great explanations and reassurance that it is different for everyone. Key fact (on this video and during my Zen lesson in September) is the 'shot intention'. It's a game changer if you've been too focussed on swing positions etc. Great job Marcus! 👍⛳️
Just a joy to watch and listen to how pros think and how they feel their swings. Always looking forward to these videos. Just one question. You never talk about the grip? Is this something that is not important, or have I missed all these videos?
Such lovely guys serious about their golf but also intent on enjoying it . I could make up a fourball with you three . Suspect we might play the 19th as well.
Absolute game changer. Your videos and concepts have made the game more enjoyable and has helped rebuild my game, hopefully stronger and more consistent than ever. Here is my question, do you believe that each golfer has a certain amount of distance, almost predetermined so to speak that they can achieve? At some point consistent contact and feel is the most important idea, right?
So my struggle is - when thinking about a positive angle of attack - is I tend to leave the face wide open. Big curves become the miss. I'm particularly interested in Mr Foster's description of using the low shot to keep it tight. That has become my approach for sure. But I don't feel I can safely 'launch' one and keep the ball in play.
Great instruction and visuals, I love this channel!! However, I am currently working on "hitting up" on the driver, but 3/5 shots are too high on the clubface, any ideas why? When it works its a BOOM!!
How do you know what your optimal angle of attack is? I hit up anywhere from 5 - 8 degrees and I've been told that's too much but I seem to get my best distance the more I hit up.
Who told you 5 - 8 degrees up is too much?? Trial and error, until you reach an AOA that doesn’t give you any further total distance. But also remember the ground conditions. Very soft/wet ground will give next to no run out off the ball. Hard/dry ground will result in much more run out. Thus in summer it can be more productive to hit it higher to get best combination of carry distance and run out distance. Hitting it higher in winter often results in more plugged balls. Although cold weather also reduces carry distance in the air.
As usual a bull***t free video, thanks all. If when aiming for a positive AoA would you tee it slightly higher and further forward? Also if the clubhead is on an upward path at impact then it must (?) be travelling left of path? So aim slightly right at set up?
The second guy with his first shot while hitting down on the ball had less back spin than the second shot where he hit up (he was a European Tour player), this is the opposite to what most club players would produce. Low angle of attack, low launch and less backspin produces more run out on Trackman giving similar total distance according to Trackman

Marcus has to be the best coach out there. The way he articulates what he is describing is top class 👏

Thanks for another fantastic video Marcus and team👍👍

Thanks for sharing, some good gems 💎
“Even with my poor maths, I know that’s 6degrees”
It’s actually 6.8degrees difference! Huge difference in carry!!
Great video Marcus

Great content as always Marcus! 🤩
Where is this filmed? I’ve seen this studio in another video but didn’t think to ask. 😊

me too...until I started pushing off my lead foot...that helped me square the face at impact. I was hitting the nasty dead right pushes.

edit- on course I use pink/orange castle tees, on 1x range orange rubbers, another range has shorter blue tees but the same result- cheers.
Where should my weight be after follow through? Am I supposed to be leaning back?
Is it ok to fall back on the back foot after swing because I try to hit up on the driver? If it’s not ok, what should I do to fix it?

@@GRFGolf Thanks for the prompt reply
I’ve worked so hard on my iron game that my driver is obsolete. Back to the drawing board.
Why am I drop kicking the club hitting sometimes turf then ball and also hooking the ball with my driver
Will look at this and make a video 👍
I'm only interested in gaining 28 yards of carry. Any way to get that amount dialed in?
His spin rate was a little high on the plus 2.4 degree first positive shot he could have got more out of it
Interesting that the second guy to hit actually had less total distance, 285 on the first hit and 284 on the second. The carry was longer though

Great video but my math saw no more than 13 yards of additional carry distance. Am I missing something?
Ben's tee shots at the start of the video. Foz increased, not as much but the mesage was all about how AoA affects carry.
@@GRFGolf Thanks for replying
The first guy went from 257 to 286 carry.
When Ben is talking to Foz the first hit goes 212 the second goes 259 thats 47 yds!
@@simmo5071 Put your glasses on, there is no drive that went 212. Foz was 249 ,262,259
You’re going to blow peoples ears out. Damn editor
