  • The station was used by the Butterfield Overland Mail from September 1858 to March 1861 and by other stage lines from 1865 to about 1880. An order dated March 2, 1861, was sent to the Overland Mail Company to transfer the contract to the Central Overland Trail, because of the start of the Civil War. The present marker at the station states that one of the reasons was because of competition from the Pony Express, but the Pony Express never existed in Arizona and was not in competition with any stage line.
The earliest stage line to use the station, when a through service returned to the Southern Overland Trail, was Tomlinson & Co.[8]
During the American Civil War, it was the site of the First Battle of Dragoon Springs and near to the site of the Second Battle of Dragoon Springs, fought between Apache warriors and Confederate soldiers.

Sorry, had to take out the music they give you free music to use on the app that I use but they don’t tell you it’s copyrighted well that’s the last time I do that, I know I said that before, but this will be the last time just can’t trust it anymore, also, sorry about your comments being lost please repost them. Thanks.😊 also it seems they made a couple movies about this area which is pretty cool. They are very old westerns. Anyway, there’s plenty of info online about this particular site if you’re interested.😊

The primary source refences show that there are only four graves at the site containing 5 bodies. Two Butterfield employees are buried in one grave. Only one Confederate soldier was buried at the site. The definitive reference is a statement by Butterfield survivor Silas St. John who gives the order of burial under the "four rock piles." There is also a severed head buried there. Many historians, including myself, doubt that there was a second battle. There is no definitive information only that from an old timer many years after.

Yes, I know I watch many videos on it. Read some stuff but it was all different facts so I just went with something simple to be honest most people who watch me aren’t gonna really care about the details. I know sites that do things like this get really in depth with stuff but I find that stuff boring. I’m here to show the desert and to keep it simple and I always tell people if they want to look it up and see the facts then do so, basically people don’t want to hear me blabbering the whole video. I know that which is why I try not to do too much talking. I know other people do videos where they talk nonstop and that gets annoying if they’re a while.🌵😎

The lone survivor was Silas St John, he died in San Diego Co CA, on Find A Grave
Also, one of the 3 Mexican employees that attacked them was supposedly found dead outside. St John said he had gotten off one shot, and 2 got away
He lost his arm from not having medical attention for several days

I have seen stories on that station before. I think they caught those Mexicans.

I heard they got away and no one knows who they are but who knows justice might’ve been served and no one will ever know about it😊

Plus, this was a long time ago stories change I’ve seen many videos, and there seems to be a little differences in each one of them. The only people who really know are the people who were there and died and lived.

Those four bodies were confederate soldiers. Democrats took the Confederate flag out with confederate flag for each body tells me I need to get it make the happy L O L.

They have confederate flags and symbols at tombstone for the guys who are in the confederate army, so I don’t know why they wouldn’t have it here. I thought I saw one symbol that was confederate. Maybe I didn’t get it on film, but I’m pretty sure there was but no no flags but in one video I saw yes there were some confederate flags.
