A ROM hack of DKC 2 that adds Donkey and Kiddy as playable Kongs, making it possible to play with all 4 Kongs now.
The hack is still in development, so there are still some graphical bugs occurring during riding sections with the animals, character swapping, and during the monkeys' celebration upon completing a level. However, despite this, it's still possible to fully complete the game.

Tutorial:
To assemble the ROM, follow these steps:
1. Click on 'CODE' and then 'DOWNLOAD ZIP'.
2. Extract the downloaded ZIP file into the ROMs folder of your emulator.
3. Open the file named build.bat.
4. Press ENTER until the ROM is assembled.
5. Once assembled, open the ROM named dkc2_1.1.sfc.
For it to work , you'll need the file asar.exe, which can be found by searching for "asar assembly".

Não crasha, ele só não tem as animações aí aparece o Diddy com a paleta de cores errada no lugar.

Two active kongs sounds good, then you gotta code camera rules.
@@silverseth7 There's a current prototype of sorts, but currently there's no way to kill off the kongs. Each kong reacts to being hit by enemies, but they instantly go back to normal, as if they didn't get hit in the first place.
In others words, the prototype basically gives both players invincibility.
4 player coop, and "race to the end" minigames
@@dylanzlol7293actualy, a party mode could be possible with minigames based in the minigames present in the game, thing like who catch more bananas, whac a mole, these things, i would use mario party games as inspiration and elaborate what is possible here. Btw to be true, i prefer it had all stages from dk1&3 added then rebrand the project to dk trilogy, hope live to see it 😅

Playing with not just Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong, but also Donkey Kong and Kiddy Kong too in DKC2, and each of the kongs even have their own extra life heads too. People are doing alot of crazy shit with mods and rom hacks in video games now that it's WAY past not even funny. And UMVC3 is just a whole new game at this point with all the characters they modded in. Excellent job to the maker of this beyond awesome hack.

The fact DK can stomp some larger enemies that Diddy needs a barrel for is a nice detail

Donkey Kong playable in DKC2 has to be one of my favorite video game what-ifs come true, right up there with playable Adult Link in Majora's Mask.
After dreaming about it so long it's almost surreal to just suddenly see him in there right now lol

There’s apparently already a mod that makes Dixie playable in DKC1, but no such mod for Donkey Kong playable in DKC2. This is the closest we’ve gotten so far, for some reason

Funny you should mention an Adult Link in MM mod cuz a dude named Skilar made exactly that, right down to Adult Link having his hitboxes from OoT and some of the dialogue being changed to account for Link's change in stature.

It feels bizarre to see at first, then becomes a bizarre alternative reality where this would have been a re-release anniversary edition after DKC3. The animation for DK hanging on Thur hooks and team-up were impressively used.

I see that, very much like myself, you've pretty much mastered the first level. You play it pretty much exactly the same way I do, having learned the whole thing by way of repetition. Cool hack.

as a DKC fan, i find this very interesting! DK and Kiddy even have the same physics from the games they appeared in!
Man, between this and the Majora's Mask mod that let's you play as Adult Link with his OoT physics, it's so cool seeing ideas regarding games I grew up on as a kid and spent days thinking about actually come about like this. I'm sure I'm not the only one who, as a kid, thought about how cool/satisfying it'd be to play as DK platforming his way through Crocodile Isle's gloomy environments, or adventuring through Termina as Adult Link, and it really is just awesome and cathartic seeing talented modders and rom hackers making childhood dreams like that a reality. With how similar games like those were in terms of gameplay and appearances, I always wished features like that were bonuses you could unlock.
Can you explain a little more the proces? Wich rom i need? If i only have the rom where it goes? I put it on same folder as .bat and it says error creating rom

They lost the chance to use the Donkey Kong animation dancing from Donkey Kong Country 1 for the victory celebration when he reaches the stage goal.

Whaaaaat? That's amazing, is there a version for the other two games? I love diddy but it never sat right with me that DK himself is was only playable in one DKC game until the Retro Studios games. ( And sadly the opposite problem is true now, other Kongs are now power ups )
hello, is possible with this hack to throw your partner with donkey kong and dixie or diddy ? There're a couple of times I remember where this is needed for some bonuses, but couldn't see that key ability being used around here.

clicked build.bat with the asar exe in the same folder and got a fatal error, is there a more in depth guide?
Whoever made this mod should actually add in Stage Clear themes for DK and Kiddy Kong plus change some dialog too.
i will wait when the mod is complete, but it looks great!

Can you please post a more detailed guide to get the game to work? For example the rom all have the full name not abbreviated. Do I have to rename it?
I would like if someone made a Donkey Kong country hack in which Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong were kidnapped by K.Rool and Tiny Kong and Kiddy went on a new adventure to rescue them.
how about the remodeled version of DKC 1 Kremlings Revenge or the DKC Trilogy version 2.1?
i've also seen playthroughs of Diddy's Kong Kannons & Dixie Kong's Triple Trouble. not sure how easy those will be to find though.

Kiddie should have never existed. Dixie-Donkey was the combination I always wanted to play in DKC3 and it would have completed the trilogy perfectly.
@Haymdahl 💯 percent agree! I would've loved it as Donkey/Dixie. I'll certainly keep hoping for a rom hack that switches kiddie out for Donkey, that's the way it should've been! 🤘
@@joseystrife Yes. Kiddie plays as Donkey without DK's ground slam signature move. Kiddie's water bounce roll... They could have added it to Donkey's moveset as well. Plus, DK wears nothing but an iconic tie instead of an oversized onezee.

It needs some work like dk don't have his ground slap but its a solid rom hack so far.

I never thought I'd see a Donkey Kong rom like that, I thought it was Donkey Kong Country 4, it's a fanmade game, I hope they can correct the errors it has, so it can be played with everyone without problems in all the scenarios and ride all the animals.

Do DK Aand Kiddy not have musical outros? I skimmed the video and you never showed them, unless I missed it.
Probably the game crashes if you try to activate it.

This is how the sequel should have been: K. Rool kidnaps Candy, in the end DK gets to unleash his anger and give his karma on K. Rool with the big punch for kidnapping her.
