as a mech builder, i am here to confirm that this is most of the mechs i see nowadays. however, you did forget *one* more stage, and that is the stage where you get really good to the point you literally can make mechs walk smoothly. sometimes they use slightly more complicated mechanics in the legs to make them walk or run. but other than that this is a pretty accurate demonstration of how mech builders are like lmao
Believe me, once you’d dive deep enough into making mechs, you’d unconsciously study mechanics, dynamic robot mechanisms, machine joint-to-joint stuff, human skeletal structure, dynamic humanoid movement, and more
as a mech builder(beginner and had a knowledge of anything in pain crazy), every player needs to gain the knowledge first and after that they can build anything like mech which was a bit complicated......y'all can keep their progress

stage 8: Fully articulated mechs - These have full range of movement similar to the human body and likely needs all the keys on the keyboard possible and can also walk great or smoothly (actually having the feet push of the floor and not hover/slide above it) stage 9: Same as stage 8 but with flight -These take up even more keybinds but have great and realistic flight controls that are so good it's practically a Gundam mech

Absolutely do! The combat is way more engaging and vehicles dont require money grinders to be build. However you won't be able to make them as visually appealing as the ones in Build a boat(mostly because you cant resize or stack blocks into one place)
As somewhat a mech builder i dont make flying mechs that are based on design and flight. I normally make mechs that are military based and have proper walking systems where it has human walking systems. I made like 5 walking tanks mechs. Also u forgot about the Gigantic pacific rim mechs..
These days, I see some mechs with gyro and mortor 2, and I think its just a shredder. To be shredder, you need cutters and mortor 2, and maybe wing pannel or gyro. Wether these mechs use cutters or not we still call it "gyro abuser"with arms and legs not mechs. Especially noob players. They just copy the build from tutorial and thinks its not shredder and its also OP. They ARE shredder and not really OP but they enjoy playing it. And they are pretty annoying. just keeps following me and doesnt deals damage, but guns and uselessly long-lasting trails are just enough to annoy someone.

Meanwhile most mechs in media arent shown to walk/cannot walk (every mobile suit in iron blooded orphans cannot/isnt shown to walk) So it is more accurate that alot of them doesnt walk :P
It's really easy especially with gyro blocks that got added. If you don't want to build proper leg joints then just use pistons to push away from the floor

That canonically doesnt exist, the true last stage is recording yourself walking and trying to base walkers round that
i am on that stage, i dont get why its so hard for people to get mechs to walk. It only takes like 10 hours

im CURRENTLY a mix of 2 and 3. I have a really nice non humanoid PVP mech that, because i know color theory, has decent painting.
