What a great video! I have been looking for a video on how hillside construction is done in LA. That rebar is insane, looks more like pipes, and same with the piles. What a massive foundation. When the piles get poured, is the rebar stuck into the bedrock via drilling holes in it? If not, would the piles not also slide off the bedrock in case of a landslide?
I'm curious about the decision to go with a two-story structure supported by piles that are 30 feet deep. The thickness of the structure seems impressive. I'm wondering if this level of construction intended to meet specific building code requirements? What drives you to select such massive foundation for just two story building?
