Don’t get me wrong, she IS good at acting but does have the tendency to over-act like some child actors tend to do. She won’t be able to act that way for much longer - it’s cute and digestible when she’s little like this but as she gets older she needs to learn the subtlety aspect of realistic acting. There are actually plenty more child actors who have already mastered that subtlety over this one.

I think that because the Emperor didn't had anyone like the Empress in his life when he was younger. The Empress is the one who teach Princess Ari right and wrong and make her realize the joy of being a normal kid. The Emperor grew up with a mother who burned his bird and refuse to help him up when he fall down. His father always more found to his younger brother. With noone defend him it's only natural if the Emperor grew up to become what he is now

But in this context, there are two types of empress. Sunny is empress consort (hwanghu). If Ari ascended to the throne, she become hwangja (same title who held by male ruler/emperor, equivalent with "empress regnant" in English). Both of them are completely two different titles.
