I replaced the Forbo on an entire story of a hospital once because the original installers allowed the glue to dry before installing, and used wore out and dirty trowel notches. Part of it was Forbo tile and it also curled. Never had a problem when we were done
We used the individual forbo tiles, and regret that we ever installed them. The look horrible after just two years, buckling and falling apart, certainly NOT water proof.
@ 3:39 Never stand on the freshly adhesive spread side of the marmo, stand on the non adhesive spread side and walk yourself in as you rool the good. It is very important rule, demostrating installer fails to follow the propper precedure.
@@josephkaz9093 It is really not that important, if it was the guy in the video would not do it. He is not really a working installer he teaches one of the Master Mechanics classes .
I also think it’s bad to walk the material into the glue. I push it in off to the side. Then roll in front. The 1st thing to touch the floor is the roller.
Something very important has been left out of the video. Were does it say an allowance must be made for shrinkage in the length of the sheet and lateral expansion in the width of the sheet?
"It doesn't shrinks." Marmoleum expands with humidity.its the material it's the made from ". "When adjusting the scribing bar, allow 1/16 of an inch shorter". The silicone covers it around the perimeter of the room.
They mean the sides of the sheet ie the width, from the factory it’s in this case 200cm... If you would measure more than 196cm if it is installed, then they are something forgotten...
First scribble and fit the opposite wall from the door (then i would glue up and cut the rest freehand). Make on some masking tape your markings (in the door your edge + position and a position mark on opposite side). Now you can scribble the sides, with the door markings as reference point and the opposite markings as check if you’re “square”. You’re you can use the old school stencil technique... Use the roll packing paper, fix it (little out-cuts taped over) with 1 cm clearance around, small ruler/straightedges against the wall and then pencil mark the paper, mark the made stencil. Take it and transfer your pencil lines +ruler to the floor sheet...
Don't use the individual tiles of this product, 1 x 3 feet. There are numerous problems with this tile, not water proof, hard to replace bucking tiles, unstable product in several respects.

Good video, however can someone kindly list all specific tools used for cutting and scribing linoleum in this video?

Can you explain why this is important?

I'd like to know what is the composition of the glue. The product itself is ecological, is it the same for the glue. Thanks.

Is destressed properly it should not shrink
Yes, cut the sheet, 24h acclimate, then cut the seam 1cm which sides, and adjust the top with the wall

While installing forbo which clue are u using.
17 Celsius is 62.6F, not 75F. Just FYI.
Hello. Is it possible to install/stick the new forbo right on the old forbo marmoleum?
Great👍
After watching this video.. step one is the same.. step 2 is to hire someone that knows what they're doing.
Net fit join but missed the wall..?? no allowance made for shrinkage.. In my experience it shrinks like Costanza in the pool.. 👌
Can you expand on what the 'factory edge' is?

I work in elevators where the walls are never straight....or square....any tips ???
