OMG I couldn’t believe how expensive that stuff was! That $14 Hershey’s chocolate bar would be about 70 cents here in the US. That bag of Recee’s chocolate pretzels that coats $12 would cost about a dollar here. Dang they are ripping you guys off over there! I cannot believe these prices, lol holy smokes.
Lol this video is really blowing my mind.. American greed truly spans national borders. Part of me is thinking “hmm maybe the markup in price comes from the cost of having to ship it to the UK, assuming it’s a product that isn’t sold or available anywhere else in the UK.” Assuming that is true, I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that here in the US, the same chocolate bar that costs $0.70 (and they’re still making profit by pricing it at $0.70) costs $14 in the UK??? That’s literally 20 times the price!!!!!! How???? Lol
@@Mrhandfriends Was this a store owned by a UK resident, or from a US company/resident? There is no excuse for those prices ( I ship stuff to the UK as well as buy stuff from there all the time)!
These American Candy stores in London are fronts for money laundering operations from opium money in the Middle East. They pop up and then disappear after about a year or so and reopen under another name. The prices are outrageous to deter people from actually buying anything in them.

These "stores" are basically fronts for money laundering (likely Central Asian drug money), the high prices are not serious attempts at selling goods but just to give the facade of respectability and the "American Candy" angle keeps it out of a normal frame of reference for questioning locals and typical tourists from Europe and the Middle East. You only see them in Central London and are typically devoid of shoppers compared to normal shops here, many of them used to be Tourist tatt shops but this is an image makeover after the lull in tourism during Covid, but they probably originally had the same agenda; there has always been a couple of these types of stores dotted about for years but has exploded into many stores recently and you will see the simliar people running them. They basically run on short-term lets, the combination of the Covid crisis and acceleration of internet shopping has meant that many retail units are being offered on short-term lets by desperate landlords, they all have the same decoration and merch with slightly different shop name. There is usually a long list of complaints for the council trading standards officers to investigate, usually counterfeit and out of date goods, but far more importantly they do not pay business rates, which is obviously illegal and very damaging (Westminster Council is owed something like £5 million), but they close down as soon as the under-resourced council tries to take them to court they go to ground and as they usually register the business under fake names or don't even register its very hard to trace who is running it all. The whole thing is so dodgy and is obviously a business scam and it is sad to see people paying money to the fraudsters who are probably sat on the top of a very ugly international wide criminal scheme. Do a search on Cracking Down on Candy Shops on Oxford Street.
As you said, Oxford Street is infested with them. Almost always empty, bar a couple of gullible tourists. Blatantly a dodgy money laundering scheme associated with drugs.
These prices are absolutely BONKERS. What a rip off, holy smokes almost every single thing you showed in this video that costs US$14.00, costs about 1 dollar here OR LESS, not 14 dollars lol. I see them every day in the checkout aisle, and $3 for a baby Ruth bar is also very high, they sell those in every checkout aisle here in the US for 70 cents each xD this video is blowing my mind for how much money they are charging for this stuff.. wow
Maybe it's payback for nearly 250 years ago? We threw their tea into the Boston Harbor then, now they're throwing our candy into disgusting prices? I'm completely joking, btw.
@@angelabordack No, it really isn't. Consider the cost of international shipping. A 5-pound box of something would cost about $40 to ship, at Parcel Monkey prices (and they're the cheapest option). Then you have to add the VAT and the store's markup. The store has got to turn a profit, after all. If it doesn't make money, it can't pay its rent, or its utilities, or its _employees._ It'd be a lot cheaper if you could actually _ship_ something to the UK (by ship), but there wasn't enough demand, so it all has to be flown over by plane. To put some numbers on it, you saw those boxes of M&M's at the start of the video. I know the store orders multiple boxes at once (it's cheaper that way), but if they ordered just a single box, it would cost $53.38 for a box of 18. That's $2.96 per bag. Then you add 20% VAT, and the price jumps to $3.56 per bag. Then you add the store markup, which in the U.S. averages 33%, and the price jumps to about $4.75 a bag. If you do the math, that's 633% more than what it would cost in the U.S., and that's not including any import tariffs. If the Hershey bars suffer a similar cost increase, that would be $2.50 x 6.33 = $15.83 per bar.
Also got to say thank you to whoever sent the chips Ahoy cookies. I've been enjoying a few of them!! Editing this as just found out it was Julie Rocha. Thank you so much, I didn't think I'd like them but they are lovely. Especially tempting when Mr H leaves them outside my office door

One has to remember that, in the UK, the tax is already included in the price, and that it is 20%. In the USA, sales tax averages at 7% (would be higher, but those few 0% sales tax states bring the average down)
@@juniorjohnson9509 I was actually going to the comments section to say that very same thing, would cost between $2-3, not FOURTEEN for godssakes! That store is a rip off
Shipping cost, tariff tax, and all underlying cost and taxes to sell these products in another country. You're comparing prices on an American made product sold within USA and sold overseas. That's not gouging. Go to your local movie theater and see what real price gouging is. The only way they can pay similar prices here in the US is if they have access to a store or commissary inside a US military base.
Hot Cheetos and Arizona Mucho Mango fruit juice were my lunch sometimes at school. I’ve learned better eating habits since then….Arizona tea and fruit juice (those tall cans in the fridge) are non carbonated but can be very tasty. Very sweet though. Wow, everything is extremely pricey. Also, LOVE seeing places in the UK for a change! Nice little virtual field trip.
You're sort of on the right track with larceny. But they're laundering money. London has become well known as a go-to place to wash dirty international money.
They're all money laundering places. They don't give a crap if anyone buys anything. There was a BBC (I think) news story about all these fairly identical American candy stores with hardly and customers and very high prices, popping up all over high streets.
I’m glad that your wife is enjoying those snacks too. She is adorable and you may be giving her sweet treat cravings that you may need to keep on hand 😀
Because its a money laundering scam, not there to actually to sell goods, if you watch them they always remain mostly empty because no shoppers would bother to go there apart from the odd clueless tourist or RUclipsr ;) Its been known about for a long time locally.
That sugar tax is absolutely brutal!!! We pay less than half that In America for those same goods . Insane markups from the sugar tax for imported goods
It's not the suger tax, it's money laundering middle Eastern drug dealers. Same lovely people who are probably apart of the now infamous 'grooming gangs'
The sugar tax is only part of the price. There's also the cost of shipping it across an ocean and you can get many of the same things for a sane price in the supermarket. These shops are fronts for money laundering, thru don't care if anyone buys anything
It makes sense to be more expensive, but at supermarkets, many of these products are far less than at these shops. No one ever goes into these shops and they are fronts for money laundering and they need the prices to be ridiculous so they can channel in the dirty money through the back door in a plausible number of sales
Faygo is a soda pop from Detroit, Michigan. I suggest trying the Rock N Rye and the Red Pop. I think I also saw their Root Beer, if so you could give that a try (sorry about the import fee and the sugar tax!) The store had a great selection, it's just too bad about the prices. I wonder if the place does ok financially? Thanx for sharing! ~Be Blessed
Those prices are insane Mr. H!! I suppose it's much cheaper than a vacation here across the Pond though. Is that in your city or in London?? If it's not in London then us Americans should add another 15 or 20 percent to the prices if we were to go to a store like this there. The only remotely reasonable price for any of those were some of the cereals.
I imagine that the ridiculous prices have everything to do with shipping overseas and any import tariffs or duty. It can't be cheap for that store owner to have all those products available in such a variety. As a business owner myself, all I can say is if they are charging that much for things it means that there are enough people who are perfectly willing to pay it.
These companies are money laundering, don't pay taxes and are run by criminal gangs abroad. There's serious crime behind this. Rape, child rape, torture, murder etc
The reason for these prices has to do with these 'businesses' being money laundering fronts, and the prices are an attempt to make their leases of huge street-side locations in prime real-estate remotely plausible for the amount of money they're putting through the books. You see them every other city block in London these days, particularly after the pandemic- and you rarely see more than one or two people inside. You also often see the non-perishable products near or past their expiry date. Many of these products are available in import sections of common UK supermarkets for 1/3 the price or less - import dues paid on those also. These stores don't care about shifting product, they care about cleaning money through the books.
It's not anything to do with a determination to sell the stuff, lots of it is counterfeit and even out of date, you will see the same merch and prices repeated across countless of these shops all with slightly varying names. Its basically a big money laundering scheme, possibly drug money from Central Asia, they all used to be tourist tatt shops but when Covid hit they ramped up the "American Candy" idea and opened lots of short term let shops registered under fake business names.
This is so cool man haha. I wish they had a UK candy shop here. Dude you have to try the Reese's Pretzels! Amazing stuff! The prices are insane! I can't believe how much everything is.
@@Mrhandfriends dude I wish I could send you a breakfast buritto without it going bad. They are incredible. I need to send you some local tortillas and chili so you can make one for yourself. 🤘🤘🤘
I see those Reese’s pretzels in a few shops but last time I shopped they were sold out. But you will receive a care package from me soon as I get last item from Amazon and I raise the money for shipping and go to the post ofc ✨🧚🏻♀️
We have a Taste of Britain restaurant that sales fish and chips, mushie peas and steak and kidney pies. They also have a small grocery store that carries candy and food from the UK. Their candy prices are reasonable compared to this store. I buy my granddaughter her Easter candy there and also pick up a tin of Nestle Quality Street Candies at Christmas time.
They do make larger candies as I saw a 3.25 pound Reeses Peanut Butter Cup but didn't check the price here in Washington. It's bigger than a pie , you'd have to slice it.
I should clarify: *most* Arizona drinks aren't carbonated. The "Cherry-Lime Rickey" flavor is. DO NOT SHAKE UP THE "CHERRY LIME RICKEY" ARIZONA DRINKS! THEY WILL EXPLODE! (Or just fizz a lot, but better safe than sorry.)
It's very pricy but was nice seeing all the American Candy. I get imports and taxes as well as the fact they need to make a profit, but they also sold some non-US products that were far too expensive.
Not fair! I can't find chocolate Twinkies here! I know they have to pay shipping and taxes but wow. The giant Hershey bar is about 3.79 here. The other candy bars are usually about $1 give or take. Find an American soldier stationed there and have them get you stuff on base. LOL
The store did good with the brands and variety.. Most of those I've seen. Unfortunately Mr. H has to pay for shipping. That's why it's expensive. The movie theater box candy you can get at most stores here for $1US.
@@juniorjohnson9509 Right, but then you have to add the VAT, sugar tax (a special tax the UK adds to try to discourage eating too much junk food), and store markup (usually 25% to 33%). The store has to turn a profit, or it won't be able to pay its utilities (or its rent, or its employees). That's why the prices are so outrageously high.
Nope. The "price gauging" is in the cost of shipping. $40 for a 5-pound box, because you can only ship by air. You used to be able to ship by... well, by _ship,_ but there wasn't enough demand, so it all gets flown over now. Then you add tariffs and a 20% tax and the store markup. The prices really do add up to what you see in the video.
Joe's prices are totally crazy Mr h. The Hershey's bar you have there it's two dollars and 50 cents. Every price that I saw there made me laugh when we complain about how high they are here. Baby Ruth is $1.50.
Everyone else has already exclaimed how outrageous the prices are in that store. I'm not surprised, considering they're being sold as 'novelties,' as well as the import costs. Reminds me of my situation: After going to Germany and Austria a couple times, spending about three and a half months in various places from Munich to Salzburg to Leipzig to Berliin, I fell in love with Doppelkeks. For me they're the greatest chocolate snack. But in the midwest of U.S. the only ones I found lately cost $20.00 for 500g rolls--I had bought them in Germany/Austria for €1.00. One grocery store in my town carried half sized rolls of the "Hit" brand of doppelkeks for $3.00, but it was only for a short time. I'll search again to see if I can find them for a reasonable price.
Specialty shops always charge much more. You can go to a grocery store in the US and pay $3 for something, then see it in a specialty shop for $5 or $6 (these places are usually in tourist areas).
Yes, I went to one in Leicester too and it was bloody expensive. No wonder I was the only customer in the shop. Heard today a lot of these shops are involved in tax evasion.
Hello Mr. H. I bought one of those jumbo size Hershey bars here in Florida yesterday. It was about 2 bucks. I wouldn't pay those prices if that was the last candy store on earth. I don't care where in the world it is. That's just wrong! Highway robbery.💯
The Arizona brand Ice tea, fruit punch, etc, has .99 cents printed on the can. Munchos a type of -weaponized- -sodium- Potato chip (crisp) also has a price on the bag depending on size. "Only $2.99". Anything like that in the UK? You should try Jelly Belly jelly beans. they taste exactly like the flavors printed on the box, cotton candy, buttered popcorn, sour cream & onion potato chip, bacon, pepper, cheese burger, barbecue chicken, chocolate milk, orange juice, tea, you might not like, booger, dirt, worm, puke, and the like, especially fun if you get a Mystery flavor box.
LOL awesome American music in there, you are right save your money and fly. I thought gas station prices were bad ! The only thing I might miss so much is a Reese's Nutrageous and Takis.
I noticed there’s no price tags on the products, how do you know if it’s on sale? As far as the price, maybe because they have to ship it from the states that’s why it’s higher, and it’s a specialty store.
Mr. H, Not sure if anyone told you about this one yet. This year Reeses came out with a Reeses Peanut butter Cup Pie. It is literally a peanut Butter cup the size off a 9 " Pie. For some strange reason they made only 3000, and sold out in seconds. It only cost $44.00. I can only imagine what they would charge charge for it there. I agree with petiteme 1960, we need to send you more treat packages. Can't have you paying 4x for a snack. Keep up the good work
Why the hell is everything so much more expensive??😂 At that point I'd just buy some milk, put in some chocolate syrup, freeze it and call it a day lmao!!
Ok this store is absurdly expensive. The Hershey sells for $2 in California and California is expensive. I always keep a stash of those Giant REESE'S peanut butter bars not cups but bars and they sell for $3.49 and by estimating what reeses sell for in that store I would have to estimate you would have to pay $14 for the exact same Reese's candy bar. The prices you would pay for the exact same items I mentioned would sell for 50% less after I the 3 month holidays are over with here. Those Arizona iced sweet teas are very good especially in the heat. You can never go wrong selecting those tall mango or raspberry Arizona iced teas in the aluminum cans. On average they sell for $2 per can in California and for $1 per can in the summer time. What I did notice is you have tons of items on the shelves selling for massively high prices and they are discontinued items because they are not popular in America and don't sell at all. Not all of those items are discontinued. Perhaps 80% are discontinued but it gets worse. If you have an American candy bar for sale there for $12 USD the last time it was sold in the US for around $0.25. I bought 4 of those exact same chocolate covered Reese's pretzels in a Walmart for $0.25 each or $1.00 USD in total because they were discontinued.
My mom (who is 98 years old now) told us that during the depression, her dad would bring each child a candy bar the size of that big Hershey bar every Friday when he got paid. The cost? Five (5) cents a bar. The big ones.
I love how everyone is talking abt how the prices are outrages… yeah they’re money laundering fronts they don’t want you to buy the sweets because then they would actual have to run the business not just cook the books
yeah alot cheeper here in the US for the candy, chips and cereal you showed with prices. i think it would be cheeper to stock up when you visit the US and just take some back to the UK with you. lol
Wow! Would go without American candy if I lived in the UK. I remember buying Hershey bars for 15 cents in the 70's. They are alot more expensive now, but nothing like in the UK.
@@juniorjohnson9509 I grew up in Utah, and enjoyed the taffy made there, from the Great Salt Lake. I'll have to look this place up, I love me some salt water taffy. :)
Sounds about right for imported goods. It was the same way in Japan where I could one. Guess it's just more reason to come to the states and visit us across the pond . Heck I don't know if it would be cheaper to try and find some of this stuff online and order it that way.
Man, did they see you coming, Mr H. I wonder what it would cost if you could order Reese's from Amazon? You can buy it in bulk; 16 and 36 count. You can even get sugar-free and organic Reese's peanut butter cups.
Ordinary prices much cheaper here...high import tax? Charleston Chew here was under $2. Interesting. I put things together in pieces as I happened to see something but the whole thing was maybe $40 including the little Alabama bear. Just comparison! Lol I don't eat a lot of candy but would be a whole lot less at those prices. The jalapeños cheesy puffs maybe $2 here in many small quick stops. Amazing the difference. But then I looked at getting a special calendar from Scotland and shipping alone was £25...! Yikes.
it's probably expensive for those stores to get those specially shipped over seas which is why they're so up charged despite them only being a little over a dollar for a small box/bag here
Oh my gosh, the prices for the items in that candy store are 2 or 3 times the price for the same items in the USA. You’re correct, it might just be cheaper to fly to the USA and buy some candy..🤣😂👍
I think you could order those various candies and chips from the US, pay for shipping and VAT, and still not pay as much as that store as long as you ordered in bulk. I noticed it looked packed which I guess is because no one buys anything.
@@Mrhandfriends Is it still a 17% VAT, or has it increased? My understanding of the UK sugar tax is that it only applies to drinks, and adds only about 25 pence per liter.
Omg those prices. I complain now about how a candy bar at the store is like $1.75, I couldn't even imagine paying $4.00 unless it was the good stuff (like high quality, organic, artisnal type stuff). I couldn't make it out but I did think I saw some Jarritos in the drink cooler. The lime flavor is great.
You should make an American wishlist of food an items people could gift you.. I'd definitely get u a box of candy that would probably be worth 100 pounds 🤣
Dang, $12.00 for Reese's? 😮. I saw a Hershey's Kiss cereal. I have not seen that yet here in Michigan. Maybe it's just in certain areas. Don't worry Mr. H & Mrs. H, we have your back. You don't need to pay for candy when people send you candy for free. 😁👍
American vloggers say that proper imported British chocolate bars are expensive, but apparently the Cadbury’s that they get is made by Hershey and tastes different to our Cadbury.
This shows the sweet tooth of the Brits! I’ve NEVER seen candy stores like these in the States but over here they are all over the place. I’m in London right now and if you walk through central London these shops are on every corner! Don’t blame this on Americans these are British owned shops All that selection but still plenty of candies missing! I went in looking for Candy Corn and Circus Peanuts ( like your foam bananas) but they were nowhere to be found. Great video but that’s not an American Candy store. It’s just named as such for someone else’s marketing strategy
Yes that would be because London knows about the tourists whereas although there is a sweet shop in the local village it is British sweets. This is like judging all of America by just Las Vegas or New York.
No these stores are all money laundering fronts. Apparently lots of these American candy stores (all with almost nobody inside and very high prices, similar layout/look) have been popping up on high streets of London and some other cities. I watched a new report on this issue by, I think, the BBC.
BTW I just noticed while watching the video again that right in the front door when you walked in there was a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal! Have you had Cinnamon Toast Crunch! I love that stuff! My favorite cereal ever!!!
@@Mrhandfriends have you had Cinnamon French Toast Crunch? Really good! I am having my Chicken In a Biskit crackers for breakfast right now. My wisdom teeth have decided to come in (or so I suspect) whilst I’m 23 years old. Your vids are quite a helpful distraction from the pain rn. Thanks as always, Mr. H.
We now know that many of those products are either counterfeit or past date. It also appears that selling candy is not the business of the store - it's actually a money laundering operation. Kinda makes sense when you see that almost nobody buys anything there.
I think it would be cheaper to fly over and buy some candy ! 😆

A confectionery store (more commonly referred to as a sweet shop in the United Kingdom, a candy shop in North America, or a lolly shop in Australia) sells confectionery and the intended market is usually children. Most confectionery stores are filled with an assortment of sweets far larger than a grocer or convenience store could accommodate. They often offer a selection of old-fashioned treats and sweets from different countries. Very often unchanged in layout since their inception, confectioneries are known for their warming and nostalgic feel

How???? Lol
@@rebeccaellsbury73 I think it’s an amalgamation of tax / greed and freight !!

These American Candy stores in London are fronts for money laundering operations from opium money in the Middle East. They pop up and then disappear after about a year or so and reopen under another name. The prices are outrageous to deter people from actually buying anything in them.
Odd how all of the comments except for yours calling this out for what it really is got liked by the uploader lol
Also the candy can be counterfeit, making their margins even grater ... when they do sell some.

I see them every day in the checkout aisle, and $3 for a baby Ruth bar is also very high, they sell those in every checkout aisle here in the US for 70 cents each xD this video is blowing my mind for how much money they are charging for this stuff.. wow
Seriously! That’s price gauging!!!
That's unbelievable pricing!!☹️

The Hershey's Giant 7 oz bar is around $2.50 in the states. Those prices in that store are legalized larceny!
it's the import fees and them wanting to profit, between those two factors chaps in the UK are taxed quite heavily to get their fix of American fare.
You're sort of on the right track with larceny.
But they're laundering money. London has become well known as a go-to place to wash dirty international money.
Averaging about 3-4 times the cost there compared to here. I’m in Wisconsin. Stuff seems to be pricier on the coasts but still nowhere near that.
HOLY COW! You’d be better off flying to the US and shipping a trunk full of candy home for personal use! I wonder how they stay in business?
A friend of mine that lived in the UK did that, years ago. We took her to Hersheypark, and she had a variety of things shipped home.
I’m still bewildered at the prices. You can get and entire box of twinkies for under $3. I can get a 6-pack of root beer for $2.50. This is nuts!
These shops are money laundering fronts
It's not the suger tax, it's money laundering middle Eastern drug dealers. Same lovely people who are probably apart of the now infamous 'grooming gangs'
The sugar tax is only part of the price. There's also the cost of shipping it across an ocean and you can get many of the same things for a sane price in the supermarket. These shops are fronts for money laundering, thru don't care if anyone buys anything
Everything 4 times as much as the US. Find something you like and I’ll send you some . Lol
Ditto
OMG..I laughed so hard when you commented about the American music in the background 🤣
Those prices??!!! I don't think so! I'm thinking the markup is a bit excessive.
Yeah I have always wondered how expensive it must be for ANY shop owner to be able to supply the stuff that they sell. I actually respect the grind

@@valogden super jealous! I wish they had something like that where I live. 🤘
They do make larger candies as I saw a 3.25 pound Reeses Peanut Butter Cup but didn't check the price here in Washington. It's bigger than a pie , you'd have to slice it.

Very refreshing, I might add.
The Arizona watermelon flavor is my favorite!!!
LOL
Great Aunt Sade's biscuits! Those prices are three times what I pay in America, and at least 20% of the items I have never heard of.
Mr. H: the bank regrets to inform you that your loan to shop at the American Candy store has been denied.

Its a money laundering outfit. 😂
The store did good with the brands and variety.. Most of those I've seen. Unfortunately Mr. H has to pay for shipping. That's why it's expensive. The movie theater box candy you can get at most stores here for $1US.
With postal shipping, you could send that Hershey bar over there by itself for less than $12!

WOW! Talk about price gauging! Snickers, Twix, Kit Kat the same size at the check out lanes in Wal Mart are $1. Insane!
Nope. The "price gauging" is in the cost of shipping. $40 for a 5-pound box, because you can only ship by air. Joe's prices are totally crazy Mr h. The Hershey's bar you have there it's two dollars and 50 cents. Every price that I saw there made me laugh when we complain about how high they are here. Baby Ruth is $1.50.
If you go back, you HAVE TO TRY the Faygo soda. It's from Michigan and it's THE BEST! Especially if you can get Redpop or Rock N Rye.
I heard about that on the Today show , but I didn't wait to watch .Thanks for taking me there in your video .
I have always thought of Goldfish as savory snacks and not sweet candies.
They have Faygo? You need to try Rock & Rye and Redpop.

I noticed there’s no price tags on the products, how do you know if it’s on sale? As far as the price, maybe because they have to ship it from the states that’s why it’s higher, and it’s a specialty store.
The price tags were on the boxes !
Keep up the good work
I haven't heard of half the stuff in that store and I can tell you if things were that expensive over here they wouldn't sell much!
It's only the u.s. candy u.k. sweets much cheaper .
WOW!!! I can't believe those prices!!! I have never seen a Hershey Bar for that much.
Why the hell is everything so much more expensive??😂 At that point I'd just buy some milk, put in some chocolate syrup, freeze it and call it a day lmao!!
Overseas shipping and thus tax
because its a scam, just a front for money laundering. They dont actually want to sell anything.
I realize it's all imported so it's going to be more expensive but that is just price gouging. Ridiculous.
LOL at the Bollywood music in the store.
That size Hershey bar here in NC is $7.00 I think.
Fanta Grape is a nice treat.
Mr. H. might need to be Wheel Barrelled out. 😂YAY, Mr. H. & Mrs. H. 🤤
Hello Mr H, hope all is well.
♥️ 👍🏻🙏🙌 SC !!!
Those prices are what movie theaters charge here. That music, never heard it before. lol
yeah alot cheeper here in the US for the candy, chips and cereal you showed with prices. i think it would be cheeper to stock up when you visit the US and just take some back to the UK with you. lol
Wow! Would go without American candy if I lived in the UK. I remember buying Hershey bars for 15 cents in the 70's. They are alot more expensive now, but nothing like in the UK.
Holy CRAP that's expensive! And no salt water taffy???
If you want salt water taffy, the ONLY place to buy it is from The Goldenrod at York Beach, Maine - by far the best there is.
@@juniorjohnson9509 I grew up in Utah, and enjoyed the taffy made there, from the Great Salt Lake. I'll have to look this place up, I love me some salt water taffy. :)
Hi from Colorado! Bloody Hell is right! I can't believe the prices! 😳
Not that much !! Lol
Definitely cheaper to actually fly over ! Lol
You could make your own Reese's easily if you wanted to.
Or costco
Ordinary prices much cheaper here...high import tax? Charleston Chew here was under $2. Interesting. I put things together in pieces as I happened to see something but the whole thing was maybe $40 including the little Alabama bear. Just comparison! Lol I don't eat a lot of candy but would be a whole lot less at those prices. The jalapeños cheesy puffs maybe $2 here in many small quick stops. Amazing the difference. But then I looked at getting a special calendar from Scotland and shipping alone was £25...! Yikes.
It’s bloody expensive !!!
Wow, that’s a pretty cool store. They have so much stuff, but yeah, those prices are nuts! That’s it, I’m sending you some stuff. 😃
Mr H needs an American Dollar Store STAT!!!
it's probably expensive for those stores to get those specially shipped over seas which is why they're so up charged despite them only being a little over a dollar for a small box/bag here
Those prices were ridiculous!! It’s so much cheaper in America.
Oh my gosh, the prices for the items in that candy store are 2 or 3 times the price for the same items in the USA. You’re correct, it might just be cheaper to fly to the USA and buy some candy..🤣😂👍
The prices just kept going up. I was like, "Are you freakin' kidding me?! Don't buy it! Don't buy it!" 😂
I think you could order those various candies and chips from the US, pay for shipping and VAT, and still not pay as much as that store as long as you ordered in bulk. I noticed it looked packed which I guess is because no one buys anything.
A possible reason why those items were so expensive is probably because of some sort of import duty
And tax ! Lol
@@Mrhandfriends Is it still a 17% VAT, or has it increased?
My understanding of the UK sugar tax is that it only applies to drinks, and adds only about 25 pence per liter.
@@juniorjohnson9509 20% now and I expect it will go up again ! :/
Reese's puff with Hershey's syrup😁
how do they sell anything???
WOW...ALL THE ADVERTISING
YOU DID FOR THIS STORE IN A BACKDOOR WAY...INSANE...
WE LOVE YOU WE GOT YOUR BACK!!!
It is very expensive, but I did see my personal favorites: Baby Ruth and Mallo Cups!
Bloody yummy ♥️
someone send him some snowball and almond joy , both coconut he love it
Dang, $12.00 for Reese's? 😮. I saw a Hershey's Kiss cereal. I have not seen that yet here in Michigan. Maybe it's just in certain areas. Don't worry Mr. H & Mrs. H, we have your back. You don't need to pay for candy when people send you candy for free. 😁👍
They've had Hershey Kiss cereal in the Boston area for quite a few years.
@@betsybabf748 Huh, I have not seen it in Michigan. Gives me a good reason to visit Boston.
Thats been out for years
We have it in meijers in Lansing. Hello neighbor.😁😁🤚
@@beesnort3163 Nice. That's an hour away from me. Lol.
At our local Walmart store a Giant 7 OZ Hershey Bar Is $ 2.48
Go back on black Friday. The British shop is having a black Friday sale here. I wonder how much crisps are?
BTW I just noticed while watching the video again that right in the front door when you walked in there was a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal! Have you had Cinnamon Toast Crunch! I love that stuff! My favorite cereal ever!!!
YUMMY !!!!!!! the breakfast of kings !!!
@@Mrhandfriends have you had Cinnamon French Toast Crunch? Really good! I am having my Chicken In a Biskit crackers for breakfast right now. In terms of clam chowder, you need to come to San Francisco to the wharf and have real clam chowder in a San Francisco sourdough bread bowl! It will change your mind about clam chowder!!!
All of those prices are insane! The candy bars and single bag candies are only $1.00 to $1.50 here in the States.
Crazy !!!!!
Wow! Those prices are crazy!!!
Mad kitty !!!
Cheetos are literally made in the same factory as Wotsits!
Yep you saw my favorite cereal , Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
I am a Londoner and have never bought from an American Candy Shop ... they are ridiculously expensive. I had a nose in one some time ago and they sold a frog from Harry Potter, chocolate. . almost £15.

Romans 6.23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Mark 1.15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Hebrews 11:6
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
