    Instead of pressing the air out of the bag to coat the meat I try to inflate the bag slightly, makes it easier to get an even coating on each piece. I would take the flat side of a 2x4 and smack the top of that bail it should spread a tad so ya can get the lid on.

      Thanks Jean! Yes, we filmed this before the arctic blast. :) Hopefully things will start to warm up over that way soon.

      We received it as a gift from Stacie’s aunt. But they sell them on Amazon. We have them listed in the Camp Cooking section of our Amazon storefront if you are interested... Check out this page for RV Texas Y'all www.amazon.com/shop/rvtexasyall

    "Shake-n-bake" bag for the meat? Somehow I don't think cowboys on an open range do that nor use beef stock. We season and brown the meat in the dutch oven and then add water and the other ingredients. You might enjoy reading, "The Chuck Wagon Cookbook" by B. Byron Price. I bought a similar cookbook years ago. Been cooking over an open fire for 40+ years.

      Fair enough, Roy. Thanks for the recommendation. We’ll check into the cookbook. Appreciate the suggestion.

    Are those cowhide suede gloves?

    • @rvamericayall
      @rvamericayall  6 лет назад

      Hi Franklin. They are leather and they work great for cooking over the fire with cast iron. We have a link in the video description if you want more info about them.

    Looks good, but with high blood pressure, way to much salt.

    • @rvamericayall
      @rvamericayall  7 лет назад

      We usually don’t cook with much salt. Our homemade stock has no salt in it. You can definitely cut back on the amount of salt you use in the recipe.
