Also if you will notice, they wore two different uniforms. Those wearing black are from the BFP or the Bureau of Fire Protection. They are government employed but those wearing khaki or brown, they are fire volunteers. They do not have salaries or any type of compensatìon. They help and serve voluntarily. So instead of saying bad things like not doing anything or total chaos, it would be more encouraging if we'd thank them for doing what they can to help in times of emergencies.

Same from Australia. The lack of BA is a concern for their health and safety irrespective of the fire. Would like to know how the command and control structure works. Has to be something in play or is it just the will of the strongest leading the way?

@@dugaldjohnston688 you see, our government's fire department isn't that well funded. So we rely on self-funded/privately funded fire volunteers to fill the void caused by the lack of budget. This in turn introduces another problem, organizing dozens, if not hundreds, of independent fire volunteers becomes a nightmare (as shown in this video)
Edit: Another thing I want to add is because most of these fire volunteers are self funded, equipments may vary. Some have a simple firetruck, some fire gear and that's all; while others have firetrucks which costs millions and complete PPEs.
Ps: I'm not a fire fighter or a government official in any way, these are just my opinion based from observations.

That is the difference of the Filipino firemen from other countries. You will see a lot of firemen because not all of them are given assignments by the Ground Commander. He will assign those nearest to the fire to combat the fire whiĺe the rest, those who are farthest are assigned to supply water via water relay ( firetruck to firetruck).

As for the comments on someone being in charge, there must have been at least some semblance of command as the alarm level was being raised so that decision was being made by someone and communicated to all brigades.

Christian Kevin is now living in Bataan (which is far from Mandaluyong) with his family. He also has a lot of works so he hasn't time to edit and upload a videos. Lastly, Christian Kevin is also busy for his upcoming wedding.

One pic show big river in near - why not use this as water supply with your pumper?
Do you known the Japanese military style small fire engines with long line support with extra cars? They are exactly for small ways how do you have in Manila city and around.

@@mrengine9 - I'm not sure of the actual workings of the system, I'm just basing what I said on my following of this particular Fire Brigade. But it would seem that the majority of fire brigades are mainly volunteer based.
This link will give you info on the BFP, which is the Government fire service
      en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bureau_of_Fire_Protection
Also this link gives all the statistics:
      www.ifsec.events/philippines/visit/news-and-updates/tragedy-fires-death-and-destruction-philippines.
Its interesting to note that a spokesperson for the government states that there is no problem with water supply for fire fighting in Manila, yet in the majority of videos of actual fire fighting, the lack of adequate water is a major problem. You will often see the locals running a bucket line to top up truck tanks.

Yes, that's right. Lot of fire volunteer brigades here in PH are either self supporting or privately owned. Our team RFV has been self supporting eversince and thru the help of people around us, we always kept moving forward. Though having this youtube is a help too in supporting some of our needs especially in gears and equipments. Actually right now we're doing a fundraising for our firetruck since we can't shoulder the cost with our own money.

They aren’t Japanese. They’re most likely using donated ex-Japanese equipment.

Why there are no law enforcement coordinating the massive crowds that are almost impeding the firefighters to tackle the burning structures,it’s so chaotic that no one is visible to tell the crowds to evacuate the scene for their safety,it’s unbelievable.

    • @ckevinreyes
      @ckevinreyes  3 года назад +14

Usually in cases like these, the BFP handle those things. However, there are some residents that stay within the fire scene because of their emotions in saving their homes. In some cases, they can be helpful since they know the place better than us, providing insights and passageways for us to attack.
