As promised here is my year on review of my Mulberry Bayswater. I bought this bag in November 2013 and only began using it after Christmas day 2013 (it was a Christmas present from me to me) I have used the bag everyday since I bought it and love love love it still!
A few people have asked how it has worn so here it is, a review and what's in my bag.

You go girl!!! You worked hard for that purchase, and you deserve it. Don't need to justify such a good quality bag!
Babe, anyone that tells you that, you tell them that no one "cured" world hunger with $1,000 bucks. People only say things because they are jealous, and are trying to make you feel guilty/bad. People need to grow the hell up. You work for your money, I don't hear them telling you that you should be ashamed because you buy food and there are people dying of hunger. No, because they do it too, so they don't feel the need to be jealous. This is a lifestyle piece, and it is exquisite. Thank you for sharing your Mulberry pieces, I am planning on making some purchases soon myself, and your reviews are so very helpful. Also, you are beautiful!!

@@AliceChidgey That is exactly right. I am definitely getting the A6 postman's lock agenda ( I am a planner :) and also the Darley cosmetic pouch, the 12 card zip wallet (purse) or the French purse (I can't decide between the 2). And a BIG wishlist item is the Heritage Bayswater. I cannot wait!!!

You don't need to justify your purchase Alice! It's a beautiful bag and if you wanted it and got your hard worked money for it that's your choice on what you spend it on, and it's no ones business but your's anyway. Loved this video, great bag and really helpful actually ;) Xx

Mulberry is addictive isn't it! Such beautiful bags. Have you tried Colonil on your lovely Bays? They do a Waterstop spray which protects the oak nvt from watermarks, and a gel to nourish the leather. Woly leather cream in Tan will restore the drier areas of your bag such as the corners - it's brilliant for restorating colour and nourishing the leather. Also rubbing scratches gently with your bag's dustbag will polish them out easily. Finally, Lord Sheraton leather cream will remove colour transfer.

Thanks for the review. Your Bayswater looks gorgeous! I really like how you enjoy using the bag and let it develop its own characteristics. I also got my black NVT Bayswater a year ago and I also carry lunch and sometimes groceries in it :P
Thank you so much for doing this video as I really would love to buy this bag. I want a bag that is leather and shows wear and tear as I think it is beautiful. Not everyone will agree but leather tells a story to me.

Thank you! :) Ahh a Lily! What colour did you go for? I would love to add one to my collection but unsure whether to go for sensible black or a bright pink or orange for a little fun... :| Do you find the chain is painful on your shoulder if you use the back without a coat/jumper? xx
Alice Chidgey I went for the black as I thought it would go best with most of my clothes and I wanted something I'd get the use out of (plus less colour transfer hopefully!) That saying, the bright ones are really great for adding a pop of colour! Chain on the regular is really comfortable, especially if you don't overstuff it. I think the medium would be quite painful on the shoulder simply because there's more bag to fill!! xx
Sorry, crashing in on your conversation :P I have the small lily too in oak, it my was my first mulberry purchase and now I'm seriously considering saving up for the bayswater for work. I love my lily but it's just so small! I don't find the straps painful at all though and it's so classy :)

Oh, and it's also so nice to see someone who is actually using the bag -- really USING it -- like every single day. It also says to me that the weight must be bearable if you haven't given up yet ;)
Great video! I have a black bayswater and am contemplating an oak too so this is a good insight! :) I use a bag organiser inside mine to maintain structure plus they come with lots of little pockets so you wont have to rely on that one little pocket!
Ohh I did catch myself trying on a Black Bayswater the other day! It's such a classic! I can definitely recommend the Tan, goes with absolutely everything, not oo light for winter use and great in summer where black might be a little heavy. (let me know if you purchase!) :D xx

Loved this Alice! I think the bag has aged beautifully and the patina on it is gorgeous. I have the Alexa which I adore and used nearly everyday last year after I bought her but have cut down on using it recently because the corners are getting so scuffed from my locker in work and I don't want further damage, so you're a lot braver tham I am in that regard lol x
Thank you very much! Ohh I love Alexas! HAHA I wouldn't say brave, I find myself wrapping the corners of my coat around my locker as I put my bag in... Horrible things lockers... I'm thinking of trying a leather polish as a moisturiser on my bags corners, see if that might help them out a little, I shall let you know if it helps :D xx

I know exactly what you mean when you talk about cost per wear. I think it's nice to buy investment pieces if you know you're going to be using it a lot. I just bought the small Bayswater satchel and I'm absolutely smitten with it, haha 👜❤️

Alice Chidgey mines is the oak with brass hardware like yours. It's pretty perfect but I do have a few scratches on the hardware and I got it last Easter.
I love designer bags! Well, I would never spend more than 2,000 on a bag. The most expensive bag that I have was 1,300€. With shipping and taxes I think I spend 1,700€ on it. It’s the Givenchy Pandora (brand new one) I got it without tags on eBay. It came with the original dust bag and everything and I love it so much 🥰 I also have the Givenchy Nightingale (preloved) and I recently purchased one that I’ve been wanting for so long! And it’s the Rockstud tote bag from Valentino. I paid 1,133€ for it. I love it!!!❤❤❤❤
And I just ordered a preloved Bayswater off eBay for 300€ - such a bargain! I say that these kind of bags will last forever.

Have u tried leather cleaners and conditioners to help keep the leather in good shape? Also, fyi, I did a baby powder trick to pull up an oil stain on a leather bag a few years ago and although it took a while it pulled the oil stain from my pale grey leather bag.
I'm planning on buying the oxblood version at the end of the year. Does it bother you that the bag isn't lined? And do you treat it with leather polish or something?
Fab review! I've had an Alexa for about 4 years and always loved the Bays but couldn't warm to just carrying it by the shoulder straps. I recently bought a (gorgeous blue & rose gold) Large Heritage Bays, which has the shoulder strap and offers the perfect solution. Quick question: do you know if the regular Bays is bigger than the Heritage? Your bag looks much more cavernous than mine..?

Great review. Love the bag but I found it too heavy for everyday use and wasn't keen on how it slouched. Although mine was much worse than yours is. Are you tempted by any other Mulberry's, bags or purses or any other designers? Would love to know. x
Thank you very much! :) I can definitely agree it's a heavy bag, but that might just be all the things I pack into mine... Ohh tempted is the word! I have fallen for the Kennsington (small) by Mulberry in the black leather... and have always lusted over a Lily as an evening bag, I might need to add one to the collection this year but we shall see... At the moment I am loving Fendi and Saint Laurent bags but they are a whole new price point, so I think those thoughts shall stay as thoughts for now! :) xx
I have just got mine for my 18th B-day and I'm really worried because I feel like I never use it! I find it really heavy and now I never take it out. DO you have any advice or recommendations for me?! ps love video xoxox
Is your bag lined or unlined? Coz I dont find it so heavy. Maybe Im just so used to heavy bags lol

Do you not find the bag too heavy?
I've seen two reviews where girls have said it's really heavy. The new ones apparently are very light but not as cute in my opinion.
You shouldn't have to justify yourself or your purchase to anyone! It's up to you what you spend your money on. I hope the people who said you could've "cleared world hunger" are regularly donating to worldwide charities *SMH*!! I have this bag and it's just gorgeous, I would never be without it. Shame they have decided to "modernise" it, it looks terrible, have you seen it? Anyways, continue to enjoy your lovely bag :) xx
LV bags aren't leather, they're coated canvas....
