Peyton List has been on the show for a while and out of all the episodes she’s been in, this has by far been her best performance yet.

I think Amanda made the right call. No telling how out of control Tory could have gotten. Not in a good headspace to fight for herself or against Sam. Better to re schedule for another day. Daniel lost his dad when he was young too. Cant wait for part 2!

15:25 I don't think Tory should've fought. Sam wouldn't have fought the same knowing what she knew and it would've tainted the fight. I wouldn't want MY kid fighting another kid whose parent literally JUST DIED! I wouldnt feel right about it, no matter what the other kid wanted.
15:42 no, Tory was going to hurt Sam, I understand Johnny and Tory's motivations, but Daniel did the right thing, he stopped the fight because it wasn't going to be fair. They really made a mistake in not going after Tory when she gave up, nor did Robby go after her.

They were right to stop the fight because Tory has tried to work out all of her issues through violence and it’s gotten her in terrible positions. I believe they should have postponed the fight because she needed to know that she had a support system. At the hospital she said that she had no one when in reality the closest ppl to her in miyagi do are Robby and Amanda. They both thought she should take some time to cope first. Like Amanda literally reached out to help her even when Tory and Sam were still fighting each other so she wanted what’s best. Fighting doesn’t solve everything and in Tory’s case it hasn’t yet.

@@ChaseSanityJohnny was there as the ref. Karate can be a form of an outlet. People have different motivations of why they do the sport. At the same time I don’t think she would’ve went too far. She knows sam has nothing to do with her personal situation. I think she would have self control, it’s like when Devin and Sam’s mom was talking to her. She didn’t take it out on them. She could’ve went off.
this is the same girl that broke in their house and trashed it, same girl that has used weapons on their daughter, i dont know how any parent would be like "nah lets just see how this plays out". yeah she was supposedly a changed person but she took a cheapshot in this fight already.
@Brandon-up7sg that’s good valuable point. I didn’t think of that. What if Sam did win!? Would she still have stayed??? Was this inevitable anyways if she would’ve loss… good point. And I just don’t think the fight would’ve went too far with Johnny there. She got a little cheap shot yea but I just still think sam would’ve been fine. People do change. But her mom just died she’s grieving. How she is acting is understandable. At the end of the day she gotta count on Tory and do what’s best for Tory. Johnny and Daniel tho tried to be as fair as possible during this. Non bias as much as possible and I respect them for that. They respect Tory and at the end of the day that’s one of the best compliments. Respect is earned half the time. Tory don’t play with nobody and they know that.

If you think about where Miyagi was in the 40s, he was in a very different place. He left Okinawa in shame and went to the states. He was forced into the US army and fought against the Japanese. At the same time he was fighting his own people, his wife and child died in a Japanese internment camp. Also, Daniel and Johnny were both correct about Tory. She wasn't in the right headspace for that particular fight, but she needed to let out the anger and grief. Now, she is going into the Sekai Taikai completely off balance and full of all that anger and grief. She can really get hurt in this fight. I hope Julie is brought in to help Tory as she was in a similar place.
He didn’t fight against the Japanese, he fought against the Germans. I think he was stationed in Europe.

Man, to me there was no really right away of dealing with the Tory situation. On one hand you understand Daniel and Amanda for wanting to stop the fight because mentally Tory wasn’t in the right head space to fight Sam and she could really injury plus mix that with their already complicated past with each other. But on the other hand, Johnny is also correct some people work through events like that with doing a physical activity or something else. Then they mourn with family and loved ones. It realistically should be Tory’s decision but again she isn’t in the right headspace so props to the writers because I can’t figure out a way that could’ve ended well!! 🤷🏾♂️
To be fair, I actually don’t think Tory would cause injury to Sam. She would probably stop herself from going too far. Worst thing she’d do is another illegal strike that would result in a point deduction or disqualification. But even if she lost, she’d at least have it out of her system. I have to take Johnny’s side here. Daniel’s argument of not encouraging her to take out her grief in the form of violence would hold if it was a street fight she was getting herself into. But this was a tournament-style match with two refs and an audience, so it was safe.
I thought Amanda and Daniel were in the right to stop the fight, it wasn't the right time for her to fight when she was not in the right state of mind.

And also, what two refs? Johnny was the official ref of this one, and doing a piss-poor job, might I add?....

Tori I get it. Her moral compass is compromised. Especially with her mom. I do hope that Julie Pierce will talk some sense into her.
I definitely think the stage is set for Julie Pierce to enter. Tori's dealing with her anger issues around her mom's death; in "The Next Karate Kid," Julie is dealing with her anger issues around her parents' death. Not to mention, the show is finally addressing "Keisuke" Miyagi. On screen, only one of Miyagi's pupils was introduced to him as such: Julie.
This! She's the only one that can do it!

Robby got his win but it looks like he’s going to lose focus on the tournament bc the promise of standing on the mat with Tory has been broken after everything he did to get her out last season
Think Tory will come back because she'll realize everything Robby did for her and that's what she really wants. Somebody whos honest, cares for her, and will always be there and he'll get his head back in the game. Kenny is wildcard back to Cobra Kai or Miyagi Do. Not sure?

What I like about this season is that our characters finally have to deal with real-world issues giving each one their reason for fighting. No more accidental Circurmastance that we put the actors in every season.
I love how we are seeing more parallels between Miyagi and Johnny.
Music in this episode goes unreasonably hard.
Peyton List really did well in this episode.
Tory could’ve hurt Sam badly possibly causing her to get injured and not going to the tournament, the fight needed to be stopped she WAS fighting with emotions
Tori's story is the perfect set up for Julie Pierce. Their stories are similar. Great reaction. Love the channel
My thing is, she probably would’ve left either way, if she would’ve lost with her fighting for her mom; it would’ve hurt her more, and would’ve became anger most likely. If she would’ve gotten too angry she probably could’ve hurt Sam as well, and with that guilt would’ve left. There’s just many ways it could’ve gone bad…
Miguel definitely didnt mean to say Robbys life wasnt worth changing, but the way he said it.. can you blame Robby for being pissed?
The thing with Tory. That could go really good or really bad. She was grieving through fighting but she was fighting the anger and pain out and it was getting dangerous for Sam. It’s one thing letting it out on a punching bag but doing it on someone else is how people get really hrut
I understand Tory feeling her mother would want her to still be in the tournament, but I don’t think her mother would want her doing it working along side Kreese.
I think Miguel understood that there's more to life than just karate
He figured that out seasons ago, he's trying to use karate to get him into his next chapter of life.

You can argue whether or not the fight should be stopped, but Daniel using "it's not the Miyagi-Do way," as a reason is just frustrating. We're 6 seasons in and Daniel is the only one stuck in the "my way is the right way" mentality.

The standout performance in Cobra Kai season six from Peyton List was great. I liked it better in my opinion. Peyton List is a really great actor.
Tory was about to punch Sam in the face. I know Tory was angry and wanted to fight, but it's not fair of her to take out her rage, especially physically, on someone else.
This would probably explain why he might not be in the new karate kid movie with Daniel and Mr. Han.
Kreese's "I am your Sensei" line gives off the same energy as "I am the Senate" line from Palpatine from Star Wars

Miyagi had a Sekai Takai headband, doesn't mean he was the one fighting in it. It could have been a student of his.

The writers just really want to repeat history of everything we saw already: the argument of Johnny and Daniel and their fallout; Tory as Cobra Kai even when she doesn’t want anything to with it.
It’s nuanced actually.
I don’t think she even cares about Kreese or Cobra Kai, she just wants to win the Sekai Takai. But I agree about the whole Daniel and Johnny argument. It’s like Daniel undid his character development in the season 4 finale.
@@kaizoisevil I hear what you're saying, but what about Johnny? One minute he's all in on Miyagi-Do, the next, he pisses all over it's traditions? It should've been this all along - Daniel teaching the calm and defensive side, Johnny teaching the aggressive offensive side, and let the students figure it out for themselves, just like Sam did in the All Valley Final....

@@DEAN_23 I don’t see how he was disrespecting the traditions though. Other than him taking over the training days, Johnny was willing to let his students learn both fighting styles, he even added some of the miyagi breathing/balance techniques into his lessons.
I’m gettin the feeling the Tory’s mom’s fist had got somethin to do with Kreese. Her mom was probably arguin and tried to hit Kreese but all that tension and pressure resulted in the embolism.
Did people forget Daniel lost his dad, he knows what grieving is.

The one thing I hate about season 6 is there all starting to hate eachother and go back to like it was in season 2 and 3
Not at all, no one here is hating each other and the only characters that have not been developed are the Larusso family, which is what we are finally seeing in this season.
Believe me or not, i truly believe that Sato plays into that headband in miyagis chest and I believe that Dutch is gonna show up and theblast 2 cobra kai members are Kenny and his brother. They didn't bring his brother for no reason.AND Kreese is behind Torys mom death, think about it he knew where she lived and he does anything to get his way AND lol notice her mom was clenching her fist tight? She was fighting someone

Everybody handles grief differently and Tory was overdoing it (remember when LaRusso's objected to the extra kick after Tory got the point). Your head needs to be in the game and she wasn't in it. A smart solution would have been to postpone it.
Johnny was right. It would have been much better for Tori if they had let her continue to work through her grief.

I don’t think you guys understand that Tory wasn’t holding back. She was about to punch Sam full strength. She would’ve gotten hurt. Also Sam didn’t want to fight. It doesn’t just matter that Tory wanted to but Sam didn’t want to. Honestly Sam’s ptsd could’ve kicked in. She was obviously frightened because she hasn’t fought Tory with that much intensity since the S3 fight.
It’s because the show has established viewers to inherently side with Johnny from S1-3. It’s hard for people to like Daniel because he isn’t the underdog. He’s successful with a beautiful wife and family.
Best Of The Best was a great movie
Miyagi do lost its edge when Johnny had to full time train at miyagi dos facility all the time. Cobra kai has viper attack to break their defense they need johnnys style to win.
Silver returns to valley and recruits kenny, shaun among others to wreck daniels students. Barnes returning to help the students could help him get his closure vs silver. Part 2 gonna be cobra kai strikes back and part 3 will be miyagi do learning from introduced scrolls of miyagi to win in the end. Miyagi was not proud of the fighting style he used to win the tournament.
Just my thoughts of what could happen next in Cobra Kai. I think kreece will have 2 more fighters maybe Kenny and or Piper... I think the scene at the end is probably an early scene from part 2 or 3. I think Part 2 will be them having outside fights in Spain while they are out enjoining the sites. Also, I think someone from Miyagi do will get hurt before and or in the tourney maybe Demitrie. And last but not least I think Mr. Miyagi didnt fight in the tourney but a family member did or a close friend and that person died.
Hm... the episode and the Tournament itself is called "Best of the Best" - there was a movie in 1989 about an American vs Korean Karate Tournament which had some drama in it, maybe they will play homage to it.
They had some Eric Roberts shots, but none from that awesome movie. Such a classic!
I think Kenny and Shaun will be the other cobra Kai fighters

I agree with Kenny. I think there is still one more female fighter to be revealed, played by Rayna.

I think the other two will be Kenny and Anthony. They make amends when they discover it was Devon who spiked the water. Kenny joins Cobra Kai to get back at the Miyagi Dos who laughed at him during his accident. Anthony joins Cobra Kai because he’s tired of playing 2nd fiddle to his sister. Plus, Anthony comes in with knowledge of the scrolls and will likely use them.
@@lakebay972 Anthony will take Devon's spot at Miyagi-Do once Devon is outed. I don't know if that will give time for her to join Cobra Kai because they have been foreshadowing Devon trying to please the Korean sensei last season. Kenny for sure is joining Cobra Kai, they have to have 6 fighters and they're up to 4 with Tori.
The show just needed to get one more Tory vs Sam in before the series ended, but I'm like firmly on her side with this one she needed to let it out and sadly Kreese's words got to her. Johnny took that punch and didn't retaliate which was surprising, but he probably should've spoken up a bit more in favour of Tory. But I get it, Hawk needed to be in the group somehow - shame Kenny didn't get a chance to fight for it though.
I'm not too sure about the captain stuff really, seems a bit pointless to have a top six if only your two captains are in the final fight, also Sam doesn't particularly _need_ the captaincy, she was 3-1 against Tory and that 1 was an asterisk. Devon and Demetri should've been given a chance to fight for captaincy too. Robby should win for the guys though I'm glad we're giving him a W.
Still some mysteries left on the second part though, the Miyagi mystery continues to imbalance Daniel - which causes his little control freak nature to rear itself again - but with that and the Sekai Taikai and the lingering conflict between students in and out of Barcelona there's a lot more to sink our teeth into
I think the non-captains still participate in the team events, which I assume are skills competitions. So it matters who they pick.
@@kaizoisevil but the end goal doesn’t, unlike the All Valley where anyone could be in the final we know it’s gonna be Robby vs Kwon and Sam vs Tory again regardless of who does best

@@eddiekoleno2291 Terry Silver meets Dutch in prison, form an alliance. Then the loyalty of Dutch to Kreese will prove useful to take Silver down. Julie Pierce "saves" Tori from herself. Maybe a Jackie Chan/Jayden Smith cameo to link to the upcoming Karate Kid movie (that Ralph Macchio will star in, but they keep saying it's not linked to the Cobra Kai series)
I know it's frustrating for tory but I agree with stopping the fight, its unfortunate she decided to go with cobra kai even though I think its just a means to an end shes just using kreese to win, she needs it more than sam, but glad the fight was stopped she could have seriously hurt Sam

What do I think? Okie. I think Migeul was smurfed sadly. I'm also curious to see Kwon more than likely put someone on a stretcher. NOBODY at Miyagi Do stands half a chance against him. Then Sam wins. Another tie. New characters, new drama as well. Toey just wants to fight and be a champ and deep down I'm rooting for her,but yeh Sam wins none the less.

stopping the fight was stupid she was working through it she needed that fight anyone who has ever suffered any kind of trauma bullying or losing someone you love who you were insanely close with or even a best friend you consider a brother it changes you ruins you it destroys you and breaks you down and turns you into monster and you have to fight if thats what you feel the need to do Daniel is wrong for stopping the fight

with everyone "in the know", they couldve started from the beginning and let her take it out, but guarding her that she didn't cross a line.

No...they shouldn't have let her fight I don't know that thought process of thinking it was right..... Two responsible adults are not going to let a kid bloody another. Anger and violence never worked well for Johnny either....
Who thinks that Kreese has something to do with the death of Tory’s mother? I believe that he did it to unleash her anger and do whatever he takes manipulate Tory into going back to Cobra Kai
That would not even be a shock, but he should be beaten up the same way Tom Holland Peter Parker beat up the Green Goblin
It would be bad, over the top, writing, less grounded, because the better point here is that shit happens in life and you need to deal with it with balance, not anger. But that said - I wouldn't be surprised either because the show has often done that unnessecary ver the top stuff with Kreese, like dropping a cobra in the dealership or escapring from prison. But I hope they don't.
If there had been some chemical in her bloodstream, maybe Kreese could've been to blame. But a blood clot in her brain? That's not something that can just be injected with a needle short term.

Keisuke Miyagi was in "The Next Karate Kid" at the military ceremony and got the medal (it was assumed that is was the same man). That breaks the lore. And because the writers got the birthdate of Miyagi on the gravestone wrong (they admitted that fact) so the chest is both fixing what's wrong, but it also makes it strange. The Korean fighters are SO good, the show's fighters have no way to learn all those fighting skills in the time past since the last season to beat them.

@@DEAN_23 They did not want her to participate in the tournament not just the fight whit Sam, from her perspective not only they turn their backs on her, but they also denied her the only opportunity to get out of the hole she is in. Remember, we all have different ways of processing loss and when we were in a precarious situation, there is no such time, not all of us have that luxury.

Personally the feeling I was left with after finishing this part of the season was that it was complete and utter crap and it hasn't changed since then. It actually soured retroactively the previous seasons. I hate how they constantly sacrificed character for the sake of cheap drama.
Honestly, Season 5 was the perfect finale, Season 6 should have been just a couple of one hour long episodes to serve as an epilogue.

The Tory reveal was pretty epic.
This whole Daniel and Johnny fighting is starting to get repetitive. I thought they got over their crap last season. They’ve basically undone all of their growth this season.
Do you still fight and argue with your friends and loved ones? We do. Even though we worked through multiple piles of crap in the past.

I actually saw Johnny show his growth with zero regression in that scene where Larusso punched him and showed extreme restraint, all in favor of training the kids for the tournament.
It is because Daniel has not developed as a character, they are doing it with him this season and his daughter too.
She's faithful to Kreese. She stayed with Cobra Kai when Silver took over to be a spy for Kreese. Regardless of intention, Miyagi do abandoned and betrayed her when she needed them most. Try telling Michael Jordan: Sorry. You can't play in the finals this year. Your father just died and you're not in the right place emotionally.

Did you see how Tory had been after her mother died? Did you see her on the mat? Her state of mind was a total mess. She was about to punch Sam in the face. And even if Sam blocked, it's most probable that someone would get hurt; maybe even both. Yes she needed to vent, but not towards another person, a punching bag is what she needed. All Daniel and Amanda had been doing all that time is to be there for her in one way or another. But suddenly, when Tory doesn't have it her way it's the LaRusso's fault? She pretty much found a second family, but out of nowhere the ones supporting her are the enemy? Here's what happened: Kreese finds Tory. The second tells the first she now is with people who want what's good for her. Kreese says she will always be second in the LaRusso books. Tory tells him to flip off and go drown himself, as she wants nothing from him after he betrayed her. Then, her mother dies and when the doctor asks if there is anyone to contact, Tory says no-one. EXCUSE HER! What happened to that family? What happened to Amanda? Her boyfriend? (Keep in mind that was even before they stopped her fight). Then, for 2 days she speaks to NOBODY, she doesn't ask for help, she CHOOSES to be alone, doesn't really face the pain and is pretty much standing at a stale-mate situation. After that, she all of a sudden decides that now is a good time to fight, because she is a fighter, and she has always been fighting and there is a fight to fight and all these fighting stuff. She enters the mat ready to beat the shit out of whomever was in front of her; she barely realises it's Sam she is going against. And when Daniel says "no fighting because things can go really south really fast" Tory goes toddler mode shouting that she wants to fight and she must fight. She doesn't listen to anyone and leaves like a coward who doesn't want to face the facts. Eventually she ends up rejoining CK. she goes back to mr untrustworthy, who she told to f off, and back to the "crazy bitch". I'm really sorry but I'm not buying this whole crap. Tory might have been pictured as a really troubled kid, but she always had personality. Season 6 Tory has no personality at all, she's just a feather in the wind. And that really unfair to her. They did her really dirty. And don't get me started with all the "she lost her mother". I have lost people who were 2nd parents to me, both out of nowhere. Losing someone you love is really painful and it can fill you up with anger, but it doesn't prevent you from telling day from night.

From Tori's perspective, Kreese pushed her away when he faked his death to escape prison (which he only decided to do when Miyagi Do wouldn't hold up their end of the deal by providing a lawyer's name.... That's just petty).
You even said LaRusso betrayed her. Even if they did a lot "for" her, the bottom line is: here's a lottery ticket. You can have this lottery ticket. Oh, your mom died? I'm sorry, you can't have this lottery ticket because you need to grieve.
Miyagi do literally stopped her from competing. They didn't pause the flight or delay the fight, they stopped it and told her she can't compete. Even Miyagi do over reacted not thinking about the implication of removing her from competition and how "now is not the time for her to compete" in a once in a lifetime opportunity. Kreese just provided the opportunity again.
