Terraria Calamity is amazing, but I wonder if you're gonna hear Terraria's OST too, it's just as great as this mod!
Should I react to regular Terraria music everyone?
I don't think it's his style tbh but I'm sure he's gonna love Terraria otherworld ost
I don't know, I like going outside my comfort zone.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficialits interesting, I think you should try to doing one video on it and then see how it goes
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial You should honestly. It's very different from the calamity ost and it has a very unique style . I've never heard anything similar anywhere.
every calamity video, we get closer to *Her*
Couldn’t leave us well enough alone, could you?

:stare:
I watched his reaction to SCal's theme live on stream a few months ago when he was recording.
No spoilers, but be ready for a good one!
Spoiler: he likes it
I love how "wasteland" is practically lo-fi, super tranquil and almost has a minecraft-like vibe to it.
My favorite part of the "Treasures Within The Abomination" is that there in fact, are no treasures in the abomination in the game
Well technically the astral infections ore generates making it useful for multiplayer.
@@AHMBOUTACUHHHthere was no astral ore in there until, like, couple updates ago😂
The whole point of Terraria is we as a player are constantly pulling out treasures from different abominations
@@user-qf2di6wy2d There are drops exclusive to astral underground, which is what I think this song should be more related to. Nonetheless, playing with Catalyst and having that metanova ore makes the song title "treasures within the abomination" makes more sense.
Sanctuary is my go-to track to bring up whenever I talk about incredible non-boss themes :D
I get it.
I still listen to this ost everyday.

I listened to dm Dokuro music for almost 100+ hour last year. I love his music so much

The Sunken Seas.
Everytime I hear the theme, I always have this sense of.. loneliness and longing for something. Which is funny considering the lore behind it.
It makes me feel like I want to go back to a better time, but it's a little too late for that now.
Everytime i hear it i think somethings out to try and get me, like im not safe and im being lulled into a false sense of security, especially with the name sanctuary
Everytime i hear it, i have a feeling that better times are happening *right now*
Man i never expected songs like this to be in a terraria mod. So well made.
Facts.
bro i been playing this mod for a few years now..the calamity music is off the charts!
I’m glad he’s covering these ones as well and not just the big pieces everyone likes such as Scourge of the Cosmos and Roar of the Jungle Dragon. The biome pieces especially have such somber character and such emotions of regret. Some of the less popular songs like Feral Amalgamation and Infernal Catharsis are absolute bangers
@StringPlayerGamerOfficial
Hi! I really love watching your reactions to calamity soundtracks and I think I know which DM DOKURO playlist you're taking soundtracks from. However, this playlist does not include my favorite soundtrack, the theme of the Supreme Witch, Calamitas. The soundtrack is called "Stained, Brutal Calamity". In general, I want to suggest that you take a reaction to this soundtrack, because it is one of the best soundtracks that I have ever heard. If you want to listen, here is a link to the video: ruclips.net/video/MT6HTpY_OyE/видео.htmlsi=nId1KoRMIjfKuNqC
Every single time a musician listens to the Calamity Soundtrack, they all say it's brilliant. How in the world did the Calamity Community miss the effort and heart that went into this, and essentially drove off their composer to quit? They killed their hen trying to get more golden eggs
Entitlement and lack of empathy.
the thing with "wasteland" is that, it the theme of the sulphuric sea. once a beach you would see in tropical environments, now a sulphuric wasteland because of the pollution made by [lore important place]. the music is melancholy and supposed to feel nostalgic.
fun fact Dokuro made this song when he was in Florida i think? durring a heat wave.
for "sanctuary" the name and music itself say everything. it the music for the "sunken sea" which is the most peaceful biome in all calamity. it were lot of people often make there base/home in, for the music but also for the calm and very low level of danger.
it underground so all events involving the Moon and eclipse aren't going to bother you and your villagers, and basically all villager love the biome.
@@Khod_Khasuniigood idea gonna do that in my next playthrough
Then again you got the clam spawning every 5 seconds
@@yotte7959 doesn't attack you unless you attack it
@@Khod_Khasunii Moreso annoying to always see the boss health come up, lol
Thank you for introducing me into this awesome soundtrack.
Glad you enjoy it!
the actual mod is great too
Wasteland has got to be one of my favorites from Calamity
i love how you play the violin after each song, its nice
Same, it's awesome
Excited for Stained, Brutal Calamity which would hopefully come soon. Also this is my first time commenting this early
I'm gonna guess he's gonna upload the rest of the biome themes and interludes before it, but yeah
I hope he gets to Tyrant soon even though its not canon (has been scrpped)
I think it may have been a little trolly to save the area theme all for _almost_ the end with only the most anticpated boss theme left, rather than intersperse them like they're listed in the RUclips playlist or on the wiki page which would roughly align with the order you'd hear them in a playthrough (this order seems to be based on the Bandcamp playlist). That said, you have to admit it's pretty and makes for some great suspense building up to the end.
Assuming they'll be continuing the Bandcamp playlist, there's only Hadopelagic Pressure, void, and Threats of the Ocean Floor, which would make up a full video, before coming to the third and final interlude. So there'll be another video before reaching _her._ The only question is how long will it be between uploads. (I've been deliberately refraining from listening to _it_ until they reach it.)
It may be trolly but I'm pretty sure it is the exact way the ost is ordered ob most Playlists
Man it really sucks that the calamity community drove DM Dokuro to quit because of how toxic they were to him. I don’t think they understood how long it takes to produce music at the level he does.
So sad, because I believe all Calamity has to do before it's "complete" is the Yharim final boss, right?
Ah yes, the P I S S O C E A N theme.
For anyone who doesn't know the biome that the wasteland theme is tied to used to be a bright yellow and corrosive ocean. They later changed the color to be closer to green but the meme will never die
It was the accurate color of Sulfur, but that won't stop the internet.
@@gamecavalier3230*why do you think piss is yellow?*
@@thealchemistking4063 ...Because of urochrome, which is a byproduct of the degradation of the chemical that makes your blood and myoglobin red, and which is made of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen. That is to say, it contains no sulfur whatsoever.
I really have no idea where you got that idea from.
@@DaRkLoRdZoRc I was taught that urine is yellow and smells bad because of sulfur... odd.
@@thealchemistking4063 Your teacher was an idiot.
I hope you can also react to some other works DM Dokuro has made once you finish up with Calamity like his Glass Structure or They know who they are series. Just like his works on Calamity, he’s really good at setting the vibe of his music, some of which hitting a very emotional spot for some people.
If it's video game music, it can be considered. But I'm only interested in VGM for this channel.
@@StringPlayerGamerOfficial ah I see, all of his works save for calamity are original music not related to any game.
@@HittingBandyNot really, he made 2 tracks for ADOFAI Neo Cosmos.
@@HittingBandy He also worked on some tracks for Grapple Force Rena
If you haven't yet, definitely give the Starbound soundtrack a listen! The menu theme alone is one of the most tranquil things I've ever heard to the point where I used to use it as sleep music.
I still listen to Atlas once in a while! Always my favorite.
oh wow the sheer pinpoint accuracy of interpretation of Wasteland
It's a theme for area which is a seaside that over many years of war, industrial pollution and experiments of a mad scientist became was ravaged beyond recognition and became a toxic and irradiated wasteland. However despite of the circumstances, life was still able to thrive even in such harsh environment.
I'd really love to recommend Rain World soundtrack. It's just something so special. Nowhere else i've heard such alien yet familiar sounding songs that go from incredibly atmospheric, fun certified bangers, extremely weird, gut wrenchingly emotional to i would even say incomprehensibly grand. Rain World music needs more recognition.
Always listening to these calming tracks whenever i play a grindy game😂
Sanctuary’s easily my favourite out of these. So relaxing yet so catchy.
You hit the nail on the head with wasteland being beach related...
Specifically one so environmentally destroyed that the water is acidic and burns flesh... But a beach nonetheless... Kinda like Florida, which Dokuro stated he based wasteland off of an unhappy experience in Florida...
It's also a callback to Outcast of the sulphurous seas, in the fact the boss is battled in, well, the sulphurous seas, its theme is more chilled than its more ravenous Desert Cousin, the Aquatic scourged is one of the only initially passive beasts in this world, more curious than aggressive, with an initially much more chill demeanor. Yes, the boss's theme was made first, then Wasteland...
Sanctuary (as the name implies) takes place in one of the last natural bastions of peace, and portrays a happy/hopeful vibe and calming but alive at the same time... And the theme portrays all these tropes as close to flawlessly as I think musically possible based on what I've listened to...
Treasures within the abomination is both a name and melodical callback to The Heaven-sent Abomination.
The treasures within the abomination takes place in the underground/caverns of the star-borne landscape
Wow I haven't played Terraria in years but I might just come back just so I can listen to all of this
Wasteland is one of my favourite ost of the calamity mod. I have listened to it for many hours now. While studying, cooking, doing things, or just relaxing. I'm glad that it's here now.
Do you plan on reacting to the non-dokuro tracks of calamity, such as catastrophic fabrications (Theme of the Revengance Exo-Mechs)?
Its "Calamity Mod" Music So there's a slim chance
Catastrophic Fabrications is the Infernum theme. Exo-Mechs use Inferior Fabrications on vanilla Calamity.
i'm hoping for the acid rain themes, tbh. underrated as far as the sound track goes
The Abomination is the new biome that spawns in your world via meteor impact called Astral Infection.
It's basically a space sickness that infects worlds and their creatures.
"This twisted dreamscape is a starborne equivalent of the mundane rot you see in your lands."
The Surface Astral Infection's theme is The Heaven-Sent Abomination.
This theme is a remake of the original theme that used to play in the biome: Heaven's Hell-Sent Gift.
Funny how a song called 'Wasteland' is relaxing to listen to.
Sanctuary is my favourite song from the entire OST, even over all of the high-octane, intense boss fights. Just the chillness, the vibe, the grooviness- absolute perfection. Every time i do a playthrough of calamity, without fail, I make a trip to the sunken seas and just sit there for 20 minutes or so, and vibe. I just love it.
I bought the music box from the alchemist NPC lite guy who sells music and put it in my base lol
Sanctuary is my favorite non-boss theme made by DMDokuro! Amazing vibes!
I didn't come to listen to you play the violin to these songs, but god damn, I'm staying for it.
13:11in short yes. Every terraria world has two beaches and calamity turns one of them into an acid beach.
Treasure Within the Abomination is a track I often put on repeat at work because it's just so chill to listen to. Same thing with Wasteland and Hadopelagic Pressure.
Hadopelagic pressure is such a goddamn banger
There are 3 event musics that are not made by DM DOKURO
(The boss rush event)
My friend and I made our terraria base with some sunken sea materials and it was the best decision ever because we got to listen to that theme every time we returned to base
With how much he loved the callbacks to Tale Of A Cruel World in Raw, Unfiltered Calamity, i bet he's gonna love Stained, Brutal calamity and how it expands upon it tenfold
love your work as always
Finally someone who knows how calm and good it's the feeling of hearing wasteland theme ost.
Whenever the terraria calamity series ends, i would love to see maybe a mini series of some kind going over sonic unleashed's ost. Its very diverse and is actually culturally researched, with each area in the game having music based around a country in the real world, like greece or the US. Either way, im enjoying calamities ost, so keep going with this and keep up the good work.
This soundtrack is so good. This is honestly the only reason I play calamity (not that it’s a bad mod).
FRESH video hot off the press, I think this is the earliest I’ve ever been! Always a pleasure to see a new Calamity reaction video come out! Wasteland is one of my personal favourite themes, it’s just so soothing to the ears. Which is strange, given that everything that happens here in game is completely chaotic lol
i know that by this point you've already reacted to the entire ost, but i wonder what you did for the exomechs as they don't have an official theme yet, the "inferior fabrications" is merely a placeholder, all we have are fanmade themes such as "catastrophic fabrications" by "PinpinNeon" and "dei machinae" by "sidetracked" (which i really recommend listening to, dei machinae is extremely underrated, imo it could easily serve as the official theme for the exomechs)
zenith fabrications, though..
@@EasternStory i like it too although being honest, i like cathastrophic fabrications more, idk why but some parts of zenith feel slightly off, like sometimes the beat feel faster than it should or the instruments feel too intense and end up drowning each other, but it may just be me because i never see anyone pointing these things out
@@CoisoNull same!
I listen to this OST all the time and your videos continue to give me a new appreciation for what I'm listening to. Very glad you're doing this series.
I have been waiting so long for Sanctuary. It's simply beautiful.
The wasteland theme is especially interesting because it heavily samples and reinterprets parts of the regular terraria ocean theme. Especially the background chord synths that eventually become a nylon guitar (which they don’t do originally). Also holy shit your wasteland improvisation sounds especially incredible.
YES I've been waiting for this!
"Wasteland" is theme for sulphurous sea, so it is beach a little bit.
With each new video, I'm looking forward to "brutal calamity" more and more
So from what i understand of the lore, the abomination is the astral infection, which is like an alien tech thing that came to terraria (the world), the infection has a lot of tech infected creatures, the underground infection has some ores that are the treasures within the abomination
NNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEERRRRDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
(yes fellow nerd)
Well it's more of just an infection that infects anything it comes into contact with including robots such as Astrum Aureus
You and by extension for creating it, DM Dokuro nailed the beach-y vibe of "wasteland“ as it actually is the theme for one of the two beaches when playing calamity
The loop-point of Treasures within the abomination is so good it's insane. 4:45 btw
The astral underground is a place where creatures and the caves themselves are contaminated with parasites that try to infect everything they touch.
Wasteland is just a sea, but made of sulphurous water-a sea where bubbles float and leave poisonous air, a sea where the steam is dangerous to breathe, a sea that can't support life, or that is where they went wrong.
Sanctuary, buried in the deepest part of the vast desert, is a long-forgotten place-a remnant of what was once a sea before it became a desert. A place where, in the light of the gems, you can see many creatures living peacefully until you become the threat.
SS: I really like your commentary, it adds a lot to the piece, keep going 💖
Astral Infection Sounds So Classic I love The Soft Sound Compared to The Other SoundTracks
You should listen to the Rain World soundtrack. It's unique to say the least
The Abomination is the Astral Blight, a meteorite containing the Astral Plague that afflicts your world once you defeat The Wall of Flesh (vanilla Terraria boss that kicks off Hard Mode).
when i was exploring the sunken seas, i stayed for longer just to hear the theme for longer
I really enjoyed this ost.
i love all these biome themes theyre so chill
i love the biome themes so muchhh
Thank you very much. Love ur vids
Have you considered looking at the Ori and The Blind Forest/Will of The Wisps ost? Such an incredibly beautiful soundtrack! Luma Pools my beloved
If that the more calm calamity get overshadowed by the high intensity ones so I’m happy you listened to them.
Since you're always looking for more, I personally found something recently that caught me with much more enjoyment than I thought I would. It's soundtrack is super interesting. Please take a look at Pseudoregalia. I'd have a lot of other suggestions but I'll stick to this one for now.
I listened to my terraria calamity playlist while getting multiple teeth removals and it calmed me down so well.
Excited to watch this :D
I have been looking forwards to your thoughts on specifically these three themes since you suggested going through the Calamity Soundtrack. I love these themes, I use them for studying often.. To give credit where credit is due, I really like the balance you keep between analysis and listening/appreciating the music, these videos are really enjoyable. Thank you for another wonderful video and take it easy. o/
As always i thx you for make the me understand the music more
Ok, so little pieces of lore here:
The abomination mentioned is the Astral Infection, a landscape made by a spaceborn desease that absorbs and convers creatures on a hive-mind-like biome
The sunken sea was... Really a sea that literally was burned on a war and like, 2/3 of it became the desert above, and only the deepest parts of it survived.
And the Sulphuric Sea was a normal sea too, but it was located over the abyss, and under the abyss on hell a city called Azafure started industry, the smoke penetraded on the abyss and went all the way to the sea polluting it. Also a guy named draedon threw nuclear waste here so yeah
I think Sanctuary was my favourite of those ones. Very nice and chill.
I love the Calamity soundtrack, even playing through the game multiple times, I still always listen to the music.
Also, a song that you should check out is Outer Rings from Kirby's Epic Yarn. Honestly, the game has a lot of bops, but that one was my favorite, and it comes out of nowhere
IDK if you know about this, but there’s another calamity soundtrack made by some of the mod devs which aims to add more calamity-like themes. “The resurrection of a cruel world” on Heart Plus Up’s channel
Serenity is so gooddd
So, you got it in one on Wasteland. It is the theme of the Sulphuric Sea; an ocean contaminated with acidic and radioactive creatures.
The "abomination" in the first song is actually the "astral" biome but underground, signaling that it's hell down there (way too many hard enemies, i mean, not literal hell)
Great video as always! I would love to see you reacting to an OST from a Brasilian RPG called "Ordem Paranormal" especially the fourth season: "Ordem Paranormal O Segredo na ilha" (Paranormal Order Secret in the Island). The OST is made by "Júlio Victor."
I am also Brasilian btw. Sorry for the bad english
Just looked it up, too small view count. It won't do well on my channel.
Have you covered the Abyssal themes? They're my favorite non-boss Calamity songs
Since you like this fan mod OST, I think you'd also like Mudeth's The Binding of Isaac: Antibirth mod soundtrack. It's absolutely exceptional, especially Machine in the Walls. If you look it up, volume one is the original mod's soundtrack and volumes 2 and 3 are his replacements for the music added to the main game after the mod came out. Still, all of the volumes are worth a listen.
Wtf I just commented this too lol!
You're the same person
real ?🧐
Yes! Machine in the Walls is an absolute banger. I might just go and listen to the whole soundtrack again, since you reminded me!
Absolutely *love* wasteland, and haplologic pressure as well
For context, the "abomination" in question is a new biome that spawns in your world after defeating the wall of flesh called the Astral Infection
The song (wasteland) is the theme of the Sulphurous Sea. A new biome that's supposed to be a polluted version of the same ocean that's on the opposite side of the world. And it's a very old song. But it's still just as calm and relaxing as it was back at its release.
The wasteland is the theme of the sulphurous sea. The sulphorous sea is an area, which is irradiated and trashed by one of the main villains. It was just a normal ocean/beach before.
oooh, a late-night upload, nice.
I've actually never heard this part of the soundtrack! Excellent as always.
yea there really is no need to go into underground astral infection unless you wanna some loot from enemies in there
sulphurous and sunken seas are kinda needed if you wanna do everythin
But I thought "hearing the music in the game is the most optimal listening experience" 😂
Hey! Ultrakill got a new layer of levels, and with that, 5 new songs! Theyre packed with A LOT of emotion. Id love to see 1 or 2 videos on them!
Finnaly The Theme of the Loneliness Seas
Ok so the "Wasteland" Theme if the sulphurous seas is a sea of dead creature's That Yharim Killed and so Creatures living in that part of the sea is becoming abominations, which also The Old Duke Lives in, Also The Abyys is below the Sulphurous seasm
You should check out contact with you, cries of coral, and fires of rubicon. From the Armored core 6 soundtrack.
Theres a couple songs from Lies of P that you should listen to specifically Feel or Quixotic by 서자영 Seo Jayeong
The abomination is a biome in the mod called The Astral Infection. It goes to planet to planet infecting the creatures and ecosystems of said planets twisting them into astral monstrosities.
First soundtrack is theme of caves in astral biom. Second - theme of acid ocean. This ocean wad poisoned by Calamitas. And last - theme of ocean wich is under a desert.
Your videos on OSTs are actually quite insightful ngl. I dig it so much :)
If you can, it would be cool if you try out the OST of The Great Ace Attorney: Chronicles. That game's OST is a gold mine in my books.
I would like to recommend some of the Calamity addon mods…the music from those are certainly worth it. Specifically ‘Galactic Destruction’ from the Catalyst mod…recently Goozma’s theme dropped and maybe give Twisted Garden a listen
I don't know if you listened to it yet but I'd recommend checking out "void" - The Lower Abyss theme, still by DM Dokuro!
PLS MADE A VIDEO OF "stained, brutal calamity" IS MY FAVORITE SONG🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
wasteland is on the beach too
by the way there is another guy who makes music for the addon of calamity called infernium composer name is pinpin neon.
Also, yes. The wasteland is indeed a beach. It's a part of the ocean shore that is heavily polluted to the point where the water is acidic and burns, and any life in it is radioactive.
I love sanctuary so much, it's such an amazing song. I even use it as my alarm lmao
I'd like to suggest Pokemon Mystery Dungeon's soundtrack. There's 4 main games - Rescue Team, Explorers, Gates to Infinity and Super Mystery Dungeon with 3 versions of Rescue Team for the gameboy, ds and switch (red, blue and DX respectively), and their sound design is PHENOMENAL. The ending music for each game is well-known for bringing people to tears.
would you also review the Exo mechs theme which is made by Pinpin neon. There are also some calamity biome musics that is made by heart plus up (the current composer for calamity soundtracks)
😌 great video
wasteland night is also great, it's similar but more lo-fi
