I've got a number of wedding rings hand-made from coin rings, to meteorite, dinasuar bone, to your standard tungsten, titanium, silver, gold etc. What is your budget and what style are you looking for? I'd recommend going to www.PatriotCoinRings.com and be sure to click the "more" link because I have around 200 rings there and can custom design rings as well based on your specs. To reach me, just click the "contact seller" button at that site. I go under the name of PatriotCoinRing on ETSY.
Michael D. Baker can you do somthing with blu opal in lay maby more of a elegant for the lady somthing that say its a womens ring me ix be happy with titanium blue opal in band ill chec out your invetory to see if i can point in more of direction .brb
Absolutly, I get requests for custom rings all the time. I try to stay away from traditional bands, diamond or gem settings from my shop but I can still do it. We could get creative and for instance with this Deer Antler inlay band with your choice of hammered sides or smooth polished silver seen here www.etsy.com/listing/508161350/same-day-shipping-reg-39900-8mm-deer?ref=pr_shop we could replace the antler with Opal or Abalone all around! Another thing we could do if you want it to be old fashioned or antiqued looking is use a bezel much like this coin ring seen here www.etsy.com/listing/575341231/reg-11995-1997-2017-antiqued-mexican-5?ref=shop_home_active_3 but instead of a coin I could use a deeper bezel and position an opal there in round or oval shape. I have dozens of Bezels and band combinations we could choose from. What are your thoughts?
Michael D. Baker your srarting to paint a good picture im gonna check out what your talking about kinda feel the same way about trdition standard looks elegant for her nothing gotty thats over board but if possable maby somthing sweat and symple like no others somthing that sais im different we are both fire and water signs born two days apart if helps in ideas ,ill be back have the grand kids at the moment but will get back to ya asp .gonna look some more on your links

For those interested, thanks to the suggestion by Aaron Joseph below, I now use a different technique to be included in an updated video in the near future but I now soak my antlers in vinegar for a week making it pliable/bendable and cutting long thin sheetings of the antler is much easier now for my ring inlays. The rings look so much better now 😊
I know this is quite a while after the original post, but do you have details/tips on how you do the antler inlay rings now? I tried doing one today, but I'm not happy with how it came out.
@@85GOCARDS I should make a video on it but here's the quick run down on how I do it, I slice the horn horizontally and choose the section of antler I want whether it be the outside darker side or white innerside, etc, making and dremel it as thin as a slice of veneer then soak in vinegar for a day or two which will change it from a brittle piece to a rubber like feel that you can bend. Wrap around and CA glue to your ring blank and epoxy outside to seal in place to help waterproof it. Hope that helps.
Awesome video. Just wondering how you managed to keep the black finish after sanding down the inlay. I've been having trouble with keeping a colour finish on my rings. Was the inlay filled first, then powder coated?
@Brendan Graham Thanks for visiting the channel Brendan, yes this is a rather tricky one to do. I prefer to do the inlay first because I do a lot of sanding and final polishing after you put the CA glue sealer over the top of the antler and it would remove any powder coating applied especially when applied to Tungsten carbide like this is which is "very difficult" to get to adhere properly and that was a lesson that came with time. You then tape over the antler with heat tape, powder coat and bake however this is where it gets really difficult because not enough and the black quickly wipes off in less than a weeks time of wear. Baking too hot or too long on the flip side will yellow the CA sealer and make it look dark amber ruining the look of the antler if not crackling the sealer up altogether. Just do it over and over and eventually you'll get the hang of it. I found a lower temp of around 300F in just 7 minute periods 3-4 times allowing cooling between each session does the trick.
+badshark21 Okay so if it is the clear coat that is gone, to replace it provided the antler is still fine you'll need to put it on a lathe or other device set to turn slowly where the ring is vertical and you slowly drip CA glue in the grove over a period time till it rises above the metal sides. Once dry, then lathe and sand down to a 3000 grit with water like you would wet sanding paint on a car. Even after the wet sanding it'll be foggy and you'll just need to finish it with a coat of jewelers sealer painted on and it'll look very clear. If you have any other questions or need help on how to place new antler on, you can always ask here or if you need my personal help, just contact me through my ETSY account at www.PatriotCoinRings.com
I've often wondered if you could use deer antler intended for dogs and would be a good go to if you didn't have access but I have collectors here in the USA who actually collect antler sheddings and sell them to me by the box lot. I'm sure if you were trying this out you might be able to give one of those dog intended antlers a run just for practice.
It's possible. Go to PatriotCoinRings.com and message me direct with a few photos of your existing ring and any information you might have like it's width, size, thickness, etc. I'll be able to put together an idea and quote on making something like that for you.
Have you considered soaking the antler in apple cider vinegar for a week before working with it? It should turn it rubbery. It may bleach the color out of the outside, but you should be able to shave bits of the outside off much easier.
+Aaron Joseph You know, I'll bet that would work, it makes total sense! I use vinegar all the time for cleaning my tools of rust and such but never thought to rubberize the bone itself. I'm going to put a small piece of Antler in some today and will come back here in a few days and a week to report how it goes. Thanks for the tip!
+technico69 Unless you previously contacted me on my ETSY page yes, I was asked once previously about a month ago but some how lost contact with that person. It can be done and if you were interested you can always contact me direct through my ETSY message center www.PatriotCoinRings.com

This was very informative, love it!
Thank you Kayla
Great video! Do you have any videos that show the process you use to inlay the antler?
Not yet but hope to make one in the next two weeks :)

Hi, would you help me on how to coat my antler ring, because the old coating is gone now

Where did you buy that antler from? Everything I see is for dogs, is that the same?
I've often wondered if you could use deer antler intended for dogs and would be a good go to if you didn't have access but I have collectors here in the USA who actually collect antler sheddings and sell them to me by the box lot. Can you inlay the top section of my old gold wedding band with tiny diamonds into a tungston band?
It's possible. Go to PatriotCoinRings.com and message me direct with a few photos of your existing ring and any information you might have like it's width, size, thickness, etc. I'll be able to put together an idea and quote on making something like that for you.

You have me curious if it would make my wood inlays any easier than soaking in water like I usually do? I think I'll be trying that too.
+Aaron Joseph, been doing it since you told me back 5 months ago and love the workability of the material so much better now, thank you for the tip!
Michael D. Baker wow thats awesome! Glad I could help!! :D
