Ah, Vindel was a great villain. Iredeemable and crazy as hell, but just sane enough to be incredibly dangerous. Good villains are ones you seriously enjoy finally taking down.
Thank god I had ALL the combo attackers in my main party all nice and leveled. I don't think it is even possible to take these guys who pack like 600k with energy shields and hp regen down without them.
These earthly villains must form their own super robot series, retain their natural boss trait in their own SRWs cameos, and start conquest of the universe. Wrecking havoc in the Balmar Empire. Eliminating the Einst realm. And so forth...
To some extent Vindel was right about evolution through wars and conflicts which is same in the real world too since technology in warfare is far more advanced than normal used technology. If there werent any wars,there wouldnt be high tech weapons,air crafts,tanks and submarines. World of constant wars and conflicts will surely evolve mankind technologically but in the long run its not possible at all which is why he got wasted in the end.
O.O And I thoughyt RockMan no Constancy has this song epic. This is the first thing i've ever heard from a SRW game, and holy shit, this is incredible.
SRW A did have an issue with being able to cheese the boss on the final level though; Amuro with a maxed Zaku II (It has the strongest post-move attack when upgraded and with four W-Up pieces) is able to do roughly 25k damage using his Miracle seishin. Combine that with the Revive seishin completely refilling SP on the revived character (And the fact that Amuro has enough SP to Miracle/Zeal, then suicide on his second attack), and you can one-turn the Zweisergain on something like turn 3.
Had he not been such a warmonger I could've agreed with him, for he does say a few things which hold wisdom... Such as the fact, that, without war, humanity would probably still be wearing suits of armor and swinging blades around, if not less than that. Yeah, war brings more sadness than joy, but, without war, where would rocketscience be? Or spacetravel? On those things, I can agree with him. But I was glad he went down eventually... His world of war was something that shouldn't be...

However, like Kyosuke, Elzam, Sanger, Excellen, Bullet, Kusuha, etc proved, even with 20 Robots and 2 Ships, an army of Men, Inspectors, Aerogaters, Shadow Mirrors and Einsts aren't enough to take us down. It may be wild and savage, but all we really need is the will to fight and win.
Toughest fight I had in OG2. He hits like a beast and regernates like a lizzard. Literally half of my team was dead, the other half was out of energy and ammo. I was barely doing enough damage to counter his regeneration. I don't remember who killed the Zweizergain, but it may have been ryukooh.
@DanielFilipeSCouto Yeah I fully upgraded the Cybuster and gave it high mobility plus double image. Nothing could touch it when I was done. Dygenguard and Aussenseiter I really only used for their team attack. The Alteisen Riese I did something more evil with then double image. I gave it the battle items and parts from beating the inspectors on Stage 15.
@DanielFilipeSCouto Yeah, but since you can use it as well it's fair play. I made the God of the Wind, Cybuster, more so by giving it a part that put Double Image on it. Cybuster + Double Image= God of the Dodge Cybuster.

War may help in developing technology, but to make it into a daily routine in our lives? To make humanity expendable just for the sake of technological progress? Not caring about the expenses of others as long as you get the desired results? No, never! I can't accept Vindel's way of thinking, nor would I accept anyone who supports him.
If Vindel escaped, he probably would've become one of the most dangerous villains in SRW... As the Zweizergain did have the System XN, which last time when it was inside a mech kept changing it to fix it's weaknesses meaning the Zweizergain would've most likely come out of it all much stronger while already being quite powerful...
If it got infected and etc. Copy the technology of v where finally boss copy all enemy mechas technology even mazinger zero getter energy etc and learned power of love and plot armor gg lol
Replayed SRW A and I feel like Vindel really doesn't deserve too much credits. The only reason why he is so dominating in OG is because technology in early OG era is pretty bad. Most heroes are operating mass produced Gespensts and there are only few super robots and most of them cannot fly. In SRW A Shadow Mirror's technology is nowhere as good as Londo Bell and they get rekted hard through the whole time. In SRW A's world Gespenst lost competition against Dragonar and Vindel could only hope to use dirty tricks such as capturing hostages to slow down the heroes but failed ultimately. Also Axel and Wodan should be ashamed of challenging Kyosuke and Sanger when their rides are larger and heavier than Alt Eisen and Dygenguar and they have absolute air supremacy over their rivals.
@DanielFilipeSCouto I actually beat the game without doing the game over grind. It's only really hard if try to get the extra stage ending. The 1st Wodan Battle is ridiculous. I did beat it though my first playthrough. The first playthrough is always the hardest in my opinion, cause you don't know what to expect unless you look up a guide, but then I feel that sucks the fun out of it. I used alot of my more mobile mechs to take Wodan down. What's really hard is getting the battle mastery.
All relative, if the Earth were to be in a constant war state/recycled war state, then you could argue that Earth's military would be both divided and weaker (from constant fighting), they would be more READY to fight a war, but raw military strength would definitely not be very high.
His theory was that war drove development. Which is true. Things like the diesel engine, nuclear power, flight, deep sea development only really took off when they were percieved to have military applications.
Vindel in the anime was a TOTAL goddamn wuss. In the original SRT A on GBA he was one tough son of a bitch in the final level. You have NO idea how much I wish I had fucking Granzon with me...

I think the hardest time I had with Wodan was trying to defeat him one on one with Sanger. And I've had my fair share of Double Image annoyances. I was glad I never had to fight Shu in OG2. He was a bitch in OG1.
Not what I meant. What I meant was, if you're gonna fight endlessly, he had the right idea. 'Cause if anyone has to die for the sake of evolution within a species, fairness says that it should be the members of that same species, other species shouldn't be involved unless they involved themselves.
Whether or not Vindel was right, the events of OG2 proved he was too incompetent to manage a world of controlled war. Look how quickly the war slipped out of his control.
Connor Levine Actually, he had all pieces going for him. The Einst were the issue but they are a colossal threat. Mitsuko was his key piece though and as soon as she couldnt cooperate with the Einst, things went to shit for him.
I found that Focus was enough for my characters when up against the Ashsabers. That's 8-12 SP as they also had the ability that reduced their SP costs. You should have plenty of SP for that level unless the GBA version I was playing is a lot different from the PS2 version. If you really need to, take out the Ashsabers, then sit back and recharge your SP for a few turns before taking out Vindel. Irm was particularly fine: with his Ace Bonus and reduced SP costs, Love is only 4 SP more than Valor
Everybody is insane... they just differ in how much they are... Society just tolerates that insanity until a certain level... it's only when you go beyond that certain level do you get sent to the asylum... (^_^)
His incompetence lies in the writing for the game. Einsts and Inspectors were more powerful and according to him should hold more value because it'll force mankind to make even more destructive robots, but clearly we couldn't get Banpreios and other units this early into the series so he got shafted.

If Vindel escaped, he probably would've become one of the most dangerous villains in SRW... As the Zweizergain did have the System XN, which last time when it was inside a mech kept changing it to fix it's weaknesses meaning the Zweizergain would've most likely come out of it all much stronger while already being quite powerful...
System XN is different from XN Geist
If it got infected and etc. Copy the technology of v where finally boss copy all enemy mechas technology even mazinger zero getter energy etc and learned power of love and plot armor gg lol

Replayed SRW A and I feel like Vindel really doesn't deserve too much credits. The only reason why he is so dominating in OG is because technology in early OG era is pretty bad. Most heroes are operating mass produced Gespensts and there are only few super robots and most of them cannot fly. In SRW A Shadow Mirror's technology is nowhere as good as Londo Bell and they get rekted hard through the whole time. In SRW A's world Gespenst lost competition against Dragonar and Vindel could only hope to use dirty tricks such as capturing hostages to slow down the heroes but failed ultimately.
Also Axel and Wodan should be ashamed of challenging Kyosuke and Sanger when their rides are larger and heavier than Alt Eisen and Dygenguar and they have absolute air supremacy over their rivals.
@DanielFilipeSCouto I actually beat the game without doing the game over grind. It's only really hard if try to get the extra stage ending. The 1st Wodan Battle is ridiculous. I did beat it though my first playthrough. The first playthrough is always the hardest in my opinion, cause you don't know what to expect unless you look up a guide, but then I feel that sucks the fun out of it. I used alot of my more mobile mechs to take Wodan down. What's really hard is getting the battle mastery.
All relative, if the Earth were to be in a constant war state/recycled war state, then you could argue that Earth's military would be both divided and weaker (from constant fighting), they would be more READY to fight a war, but raw military strength would definitely not be very high.
His theory was that war drove development. Which is true. Things like the diesel engine, nuclear power, flight, deep sea development only really took off when they were percieved to have military applications.
Constant war would drive humanity to extinction or just leave it vulnerable to alien bastards.
Vindel in the anime was a TOTAL goddamn wuss. In the original SRT A on GBA he was one tough son of a bitch in the final level. You have NO idea how much I wish I had fucking Granzon with me...

I'm just stating what I've found to be true when I played it. Only time I had to hang back to regain my SP was against the final boss (not the secret final boss, I screwed up earlier on and realized later I couldn't reach him).

@DanielFilipeSCouto The only secret I looked up was beating the inspectors on stage 15. The items were so worth it. I didn't get them on my 1st playthrough. I got the extra stage without cheats. I think the hardest time I had with Wodan was trying to defeat him one on one with Sanger. And I've had my fair share of Double Image annoyances. I was glad I never had to fight Shu in OG2. He was a bitch in OG1.
Now who would beat who in a straight up battle... Shu or Vindel?

Whether or not Vindel was right, the events of OG2 proved he was too incompetent to manage a world of controlled war. Look how quickly the war slipped out of his control.
Connor Levine Actually, he had all pieces going for him. The Einst were the issue but they are a colossal threat. Mitsuko was his key piece though and as soon as she couldnt cooperate with the Einst, things went to shit for him.

I found that Focus was enough for my characters when up against the Ashsabers. That's 8-12 SP as they also had the ability that reduced their SP costs. You should have plenty of SP for that level unless the GBA version I was playing is a lot different from the PS2 version.
If you really need to, take out the Ashsabers, then sit back and recharge your SP for a few turns before taking out Vindel. Irm was particularly fine: with his Ace Bonus and reduced SP costs, Love is only 4 SP more than Valor

His incompetence lies in the writing for the game.
Einsts and Inspectors were more powerful and according to him should hold more value because it'll force mankind to make even more destructive robots, but clearly we couldn't get Banpreios and other units this early into the series so he got shafted.
nowadays, Zweizergain just looks like a big, blue Gunmen. (Gurren Lagann fans will know what I'm talking about.)
