Jane was kicking, spitting, talking shit, freeing allies, punching, & elbowing plenty guys throughout; She was a warrior in this film. I did not expect that much, i expected her to be annoying, but she was awesome.
She wouldn't surviving the jungle if she was annoying. Like John Clayton said in the beginning of the movie before his death, the jungle consumes everything but the strong.

The movie makes it clear that Akut and his tribe are NOT gorillas, but instead Mangani, the species created by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I enjoy posts by fools who, in their desire to write something negative, prove that they were either not paying attention, or probably did not see the full film at all.

Animals are of course stronger, but people were pretty strong too, looong time ago, when they had to fight for their lives and make everything on their own, now people are weaker and weaker, because we dont have to work that hard, because of machines etc.

Humans, with the addition of standing upright, traded out their incredible strength for endurance. Fast twitch fibers can exponentially increase the strength of an animal tenfold, which chimpanzees and gorillas have. But we have more slow twitch fibers. We have more stamina than almost every animal on the planet. So much so that we could go on for miles, our ancient ancestors having trot down shit over the long run.
Fast twitch muscle fibers activate in humans during high stress situations where we can suddenly pull off incredible feats if strength when the time calls for it. It responds during a need, never a want. Great apes simply have more fast twitch fibers, which for a few minutes, makes them several times stronger than a similarly sized man, no matter how strong they are. They will always be outclassed.

I think it would have been epic for tarzan and Akut to let out a cool brotherly roar at the end of this scene 😬

As much as this movie didn’t seem to do well. I couldn’t help but think about it from time to time. I personally liked it it.

This is as far as we’re gonna get of a Tarzan Disney remake. If Tantor and Terk were in the movie, this movie would lighten up a little. Terk would be voiced by Melissa McCarthy and Tantor by Kevin James
While I would love for Disney to make a live action, it probably won't happen. I've thought of the cast I would choose for the remake if I were to make the movie. I think (if we are going off of Disney's 1999 version) Kaya Scodelario would be a good British Jane although in books Jane was American. Rebel Wilson would be a wonderful Terk and either Jacob Batalon (Ned) from MCU Spiderman or Kevin James would be a good choice for Tantor. Colin Firth as Professor Porter. Viola Davis would be a good choice for Kala and Ibris Alba as Kerchack. And Tarzan? Maybe Hero Finnas Tiffin or Ryan Gosling (cause hairy Ryan looks a lot like Tarzan). Does anyone like my casting choices? Tarzan is my favorite Disney movie and I love the Tarzan story so I'm praying that we'll have more Tarzan movies.

I saw that study too, the one where goths went into a jungle for 40 years and gave routine updates to the ever browning of their skin. It was a great study and i am ever so glad to see it referenced here to prove a point nobody cares about.

So, the movie with Bo Derek and Miles O'keeffe "Tarzan, the Ape Man" in '81 wasn't the best version. However, there were some behind the scenes that made headlines at the time. Apparently the male lion on the set had a thing for Bo and was very jealous and tried to attack her during a scene on the beach. Miles saw this and cold cocked the lion! The lion, stunned, walked away....that's some crazy stuff right there!

I read all the original books and the fight scene between Tarzan and Akut was wrong. In the books Tarzan was able to hold his own against all the apes. He was smarter and faster, and strong enough to fight them. He would rush at them and duck under their outstretched arms and quickly swing around their backs. Then wrap his arms around their necks and legs around their bodies and choke them out. That was how he became king of the apes.
Same here. I told myself they were having on his way to recovering being the real Tarzan again after being in Civilization but.....
He felt guilty and deserving of the beating that Akut gave him so he didn’t put up as much of an effort to win he understood his brother was mad at him and decided to let him get some hits in. That’s my take from it

I remember this ashen pale Tarzan movie. XD One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Not because the acting was bad or anything, though it was, but namely the INFINITY VINE SWING scenes where the vines had no anchor points to be swung from. That and the intensely pale Tarzan, I know he's from England and it's always raining, but watching a shirtless sickly pale man try to act tough and deep is too funny to take it serious. xD I'm trying to remember how it ended, I seem to recall that something way too silly happened as a plot device.

Not a bad movie, but could've been so much better, where is the fight with Bolgani? Despite all the advance in film making they still can't match the book. Oh, and ive read it once a Year since the age of 9. They did an horrendous job on the other Edgar Rice Burroughs movie, John Carter.

Element of surprise. During the fight, Akut was focusing on defeating Tarzan. Here, he had no idea Tarzan was coming, so he was unprepared.
