this is SO inspiring !!!! I have been struggling with this piece for over 20 years and now I honestly feel that I can make a fresh start now after this masterclass of a truly great musician and pianist

Andjaparidze uses words that cannot be said. So much emotions in the way she plays... unbelievable.

I love the way the closing 3 or 4 variations were welded into a single, massive statement. With that heart-breaking final one, I do not see Rachmaninov looking to Russia (it's not such a destination of our hopes these days), but gazing out into an unlimited future, a future filled with the piano masterworks he was never to write. It's like he has expended his rage and is teaching us that what is to come will be broader, beyond our imagining yet possible to catch glimpses of.
Such a hopeful and desolate farewell. It always brings tears to my eyes.
