    As a vegetarian, this was my confused Calabrese grandparents go to meal to feed me. I love it so much! My nonno still makes this for me every time I visit. Your lovely nonna makes me miss mine dearly.

    How sweet your Nonna is and wonderful :) You are truly blessed:) My Grandma would do the same with the Ricotta container except she would put escarole and send me home with it :) It so beautiful the time you share with your Nonna . Especially in times like this I’m so grateful for how too my Grandma taught me to make the simplest ingredients like beans into a delicious meal for the family.

    Your nonna looks and sounds like my nonna (Graziela) Who was born in foggia, Puglia. The recipe looks like hers as well, and thus is truly authentic. Both your nonna and the dish bring back great memories. Grazie tante. Where in italy did your nonna come from?
    One of my favorite side dishes of my Nonna was Tomatoes that were quartered, and then soaked in some sort of olive oil, water, and onion and salt and pepper. Have you ever done that with her on video? If so, could you please send a link via a reply to this comment.

    Everything looks great. Watched a few videos. My Italian family shares the same surname as Nonna Angelina P! My wife and I have been exploring our Italian roots and enjoy making authentic recipes. Although, I am not exactly a pizzaiolo. I'll leave it to the pros. before I get "acquainted" with the rolling pin lol
    God Bless

    Using black ceci from Puglia, if you can find them, makes this dish truly Pulgiese.

      Nick Tib my family is from Mola di Bari! I love black Ceci!! A lady from Rutigliano used to rent my zia’s villa in Cozze and she would always bring them to us!! I brought some back to America a few times. Very hard to find here.

    Question: Nonna said she makes containers of this and Fagoli. Does she freeze these dishes and if so does she only freeze the sauce and add the pasta later?

    • @cookingwithnonna
      @cookingwithnonna  6 лет назад +2

      Kathleen Brown she’s actually never frozen this before! lol but if she did she would only freeze the sauce and make the pasta fresh when you want to use it
