How to Rebuild A Hydraulic Cylinder

Today Pete is showing how to rebuild a hydraulic cylinder. This cylinder is off a Kubota B21. This will work on all of all the Kubota hydraulic cylinders and most of the main tractor brands too. It is the Same as John Deere,International and New Holland.

Straight up, this was a fantastic video. Very easy to understand and follow with great explanations. You just need a bigger pipe wrench or a cheater pipe. Downward force on the wrench from and elevated position is a recipe for a head injury.

Not a bad idea to run a ball hone down the barrel while it’s apart. That’ll give it a nice surface for them piston and gland seals to seal against and remove any light surface imperfections that could damage the new o rings, wear rings, etc.

Thank you sir. Had to replace a hydraulic hose on the skid steer. Figured I ought to seal the cylinder while the reservoir was already empty lol

I loosen the flange nut while on the tractor.

Good explanation, i just did my Kubota bucket cylinder was just like that. Only thing i did differant was to heat the piston seal to about 200 degrees in hyd. Oil to soften it up.
