    you can have phenomenal footwork, ball skills, etc as a qb and always be subpar/decent.. But you will never be anything special without that IT factor.... Mahomes has it..

    I am more than excited (to say the least) as a Chiefs fan to see this kid, but I am a realistic Chiefs fan, like all rookies this kid needs work. The last thing I want to see is him thrust into the line-up with a (currently 6-6 team) that is feeling massive fan pressure to bench a conservative up and down Vet like Alex Smith. To be successful, it has been proven that Alex needs time in the pocket and receivers that are more than "NFL open" for him to feel comfortable pulling the trigger. Alex is (in my view) too smart to play the position - he over calculates risk/reward and does not let it go unless he feels it will be a successful pass. This is a massive detriment to the success of our team. But, this doesn't mean he will not be snatched up next year quick as a hiccup come free agency. The QB position has only approx. 25 solid starters for the 32 teams represented.
    Thrusting him in the line-up now will (POTENTIALLY):
    - stunt his growth with an O-line that is not great, this could potential ie: David Carr (Texans) he was killed early in his career - no, not a great QB but could have been better if given O-line help year 1,2,3
    - we are not winning the SB anyway, let's be real, it's not happening, we still have several great players at key position, but need a CB, MLB and OL help bad (Love you Derrick J, but you're age is showing)
    - his mechanic need work, people tend to revert back to old tendencies under pressure this needs to be work prior to him leading the offense
    - can you pick a better "person" to learn from than Alex Smith, he has and will continue to show him the right way to go about the QB position, no not teaching him style per say, but to keep him mind right, do the right thing (stay of twitter, work in the gym)
    You NEVER hear anything about him off the field other than his charity work with adopted kids getting scholarships
    Be Patient #ChiefsKingdom we have been waiting since 1970, one more year will not kill us.

    His abilities to keep plays alive outside of the pocket are going go to be his biggest strength, by far. Mixed with his arm strength, he's gonna be a monster.

      ZitrohLoL Yeah your right about that I think he's going to get those under control this offseason and a monster he has a lot of talent around him Travis Kelce, Kareem Hunt, and Tyreek Hill why wouldn't he be

    I mean, just the first minute of highlights - is this anything other college qb have done? How the hell was he not #1 pick? What were the jets thinking? It's insane, those throws, those moves - KC did they freaking homework - i read some people in scouting said " he was years away from nfl ready and wasn't 1 rounder"...this just proves yet again how nobody does there job well! You can be in NASA and give the OK for the space shuttle Columbia to fly back and tell them yep you will be ok (wrong ) or you can a a team picking 1-9 not know this guy was going to be a star and not pick him. It's mind boggling.....Just remember this are the same people that said Oh Jamarcus Russell is a definite # 1 pick. It's like WTF. I could be working in the NFL obviously and replace some of these dimwits. SMH.

    throws off back leg, no zip or speed on the ball, nfl hawking db's will have a field day, if he doesn't fix his mechanics, good elusiveness and strong arm, just learn to set your feet kid.

      BreakingDs no zip? Apparently you haven't seen his video where he threw the ball 62 miles per hour... you nothing about football

    • @mikeallison4816
      @mikeallison4816 7 лет назад

      when he throws off his back leg, there is no 62 mph on that pass, you know nothing about passing mechanics, i't's not all about his arm strength,. if he sets his feet he will be fine.

    I just don't see it with this kid. Im not trying to be a hater, I just think him throwing off his back foot and running around like he does will not translate well in the NFL.

    • @dccaleb5529
