I also read that Jay reached out to Yuuri for this collaboration, and it was in the works for almost a year. Jay is my bias, and I have always loved his voice. My idol singing with his idol❤ the fact that jay reached out for yuuri and asked him by himself wether a collab is possible is so sweet and it’s even more impressive that yuuri agreed to this because yuuri is seriously one of the biggest soloist in Japan(just to showcase this: he’s the only artist to surpass bts record with ,,dynamite” on billboard Japan and he did it with ,,dried flower”)! Since he agreed to this collab it only shows how much respect yuuri has for enhypen as artists and knows their impact in Japan. Jay mentioned yuuri multiple times and recommended many songs (jay showed us his Spotify top 5 songs and they where all from yuuri) so it must be great for him to have this opportunity. And let’s not forget jay’s hard work for this collab! He isn’t a native Japanese speaker and it’s not his first or even second language so his way of delivering the words in a foreign language with so many emotions is more than impressive!! There where many many Japanese fans (not only engenes but also fans from yuuri) who said jays Japanese pronunciation sounds perfect so he must have been working very hard to make engenes proud and show himself from his best side :)
I love this version of Always by you and it goes without saying that I love Jay as he is my bias after all. Jay's voice has so much color to it so I need more of this kind of sound from Jay.

I love jay so much and he’s such an underappreciated vocalist so I hope he will get more opportunities to showcase his amazing vocals! I can vibe with all of enhypen’s Japanese songs and I really like the message of them so I don’t have a particular favorite one
So here is the story. Jay is a huge and I mean huge fan of Yuuri. He first discovered Yuuri from Niki when Niki was watching a MV or something from Yuuri and he was doing Dried Flower. Jay loved the song and been listening to him (he shows his Spotify top songs on Live). I believe it was when they were in Japan for a tour, I think, and while they were there, Jay or the company, but I think it was Jay who personally contacted Yuuri for a collaboration. The reason Jay wanted to do a collaboration was because (on Live with Heeseung) he said that the song is so good and that he wasn’t as confident to pull it off by himself so he thought it would be best to do it as a collaboration with the original singer. As a Jay bias, I was extremely happy to, not only see him (due to that situation) but also to see him showcase his beautiful versatile vocal. He sung so beautifully that I was literally smiling from ear to ear with tears in my eyes. And it was my first time hearing Yuuri and he also blow me away. Both of their vocals blended so well together. Also to see Jay so happy naked all Engenes happy. This collaboration was everything 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
My first time to hear Yuuri’s vocal and he sounded amazing as well as Jay’s 🥰. As I watched the music video I was crying with happy tears. Their vocals are showcased with just the instruments played behind them nothing else 😂. Love the raspy or growl part and at the end where Jay is a little higher note than Yuuri. It ended beautifully. My heart is sooo proud of Jay😂. Their collaboration with ENHYPEN’s song ALWAYS was at Yuuri’s RUclips channel while Dry Flower was at ENHYPEN’s RUclips channel. I miss ENHYPEN too . I wish they will have a comeback soon. Thank you so so much💕
No but for real, technically speaking Jay is one of the three best vocalists in the group with Heeseung and Sunoo. Sunoo is my favorite vocalist but along with him I love Jay's voice too.
for everyone who's into J-music, we know Yuri's vocal is top tier heavenly and high notes off the space. That's why i was a bit skeptical of Jay singing with him, i know Jay is a wonderful singer but Yuri's voice can overpower everyone. I was so wrong 😭 Jay's vocal is TOP TIER!!!!
Jay is underated for sure. He has unique and very versatile vocal and hybe love to use his falsetto. His tone can be very low (fever) and can be very high (make a change, just a little bit). And he never not sing, even when they use backtrack vocal. Jay and Jungwon are the two that never not sing even with hard choreo. Jay is the second best for me after Heeseung.
