Your videos are great Albert, they're a fantastic way of celebrating how different climbers all have something exciting and novel to bring to the sport. As climbing goes to the Olympics and grows in popularity there'll always be that mentality of "who's the best, who's the best" coming in, but what I love about climbing is how different everyone is and how it's really the person against the problem or the wall. Your videos really show that well and are great to watch!

Always a special day, when a new beta break video comes out. 😃
Damn, that glance at the end of unsolved problems.. So familiar to me. Like when your brain disagree with your body on why you have to stop here and now, and got to abandon the problem due to the queue, or time, or fatigue, or injury or whatever else. Have a good luck, Alexey
I went to the 2019 Dockmasters competition. too bad I couldn't make it to the one this year to witness this incredible beta break! Anyways Energiehaven is a pretty cool gym and the people there are really nice. Would definetly recommend for a visit! Edit: I saw Alexsey in a competition in one of my home gyms Blockhelden and he is crazy strong! He was the only one to top one final boulder with a relly unique solution when I remember correctly!
I didn't find sports until I was nearly 30. I was pretty overweight at the time (200 pounds compared to my current 145). I earned my pro mountain bike license about 10 years later. While I'm still one of the slower "pros", I still out there. Not too late to start anything.
As a bigger guy getting into climbing i have to find my own little ways to get around my weight, my bigger belly hinders me in my leg movement espacually while placing it high or a matching start with foots and hands in the same problem, but i developed my little tricks to get around. Also i try to get rid of some fat. :)
If we are talking about russian strength, please make an episode about Rustam Gelmanov! pretty sure he has done some absurd Beta Breaks over the years!
@@AlbertOkay wonder if you have a topic for the next episode. I know you get a lot of suggestions, maybe I can suggest the M2 boulder in the 2018 Meiringen world cup. The 4-move dyno was done a few ways. W2 and W3 were interesting too. Instead of a particular athlete, maybe feature a boulder?
I get triceps tendonitis easily, so I'm careful to do things as statically as possible, plus I just prefer to climb that way. The other day I broke the beta on a V4 dyno problem down to V2 done statically (but reachy). It was so satisfying.
yea, i totally know how bad it is to get injured doing sports. my left shoulder will never be the same after that snowboarding accident and i struggle from time to time in regular life after straining it for a little bit too long. last summer was the worst one without a doubt. i was working at a building site and was pulling a hose which was used to fill poles with concrete. first day went by and resulted in bad pain in my shoulder, second day went past and little less than 2 hours before the day was over (12.5 hour days) did i have to tell the foreman that i can't keep doing this the last 2 hours and the day after that was the pain so bad that i was on strong pain medication and wasn't able to lift my hand over waste level when my arm was straight. luckily did i help some divers that day to pick up some poles which had fallen into the docks. so yea, a bad injury is nothing to just laugh off.
Injuries are hard, but all I can say is that I hope you get through any injuries you've sustained and if you get any in the future easily and recover fully!
Epic video and always relatable in so many ways to life. Hard work, creativity and beta break. 👈 Since everything in climbing is subjective, it’s like trying to define happiness or success? Climbing for me is a mechanism to problem solve myself so I am at peace within to deal with the chaos around me. Having started climbing at 46, now 52, it’s not about a grade, but skills learned that help me to continuously improve at my pace with a community of support. The reality is majority of recreational climbers, like myself, won’t get sponsored or endorsements-so why climb? Like the infamous saying in The Matrix: “because I choose to”. Or didn’t Warren Harding (climber) say something iconic at El Cap about “why”? These is no why. 🤷♂️😝
