- 3d animation describing the events that followed after the capture of Rome by Caesar and the retreat of Pompey in Greece in march 49BC, based on Caesar's own account.
With Italy secured, lacking a fleet to cross the sea and follow his enemy in Greece, Caesar decides to take his army to Spain and attack Pompey's loyal legions located there.
Delayed on the way by the opposition of Masillia, Caesar sends forward his legions into Spain.
In june 49BC he resumes his march and joins his men at Ilerda, Both sides engaged in a 2 months campaign of maneuvering, with Caesar facing attrition and major weather events.

Congrats. It is by far the best animation I've seen so far on RUclips. Very easy to understand, everything is shown on the map. Impressive.
A freakin men!
Following the campaigns are much easier to understand with the geography presented on screen and not just some flat MS green paint with blocks running around. Really appreciate these videos.
As beautiful and engaging as a movie. But this movie is historically accurate, EVEN BETTER! Congratulations, I was completely absorbed, GREAT WORK!
How can you be 100% sure of that? Its not like it happened last week but 2070 years ago!
Glad you're back 😀 looking forward to part 2
thank you :)
yes
I think they should be released together because it's really sad not to be able to watch the conclusion.
These videos are absolutely excellent and so well done! These are the best military visualization vids on RUclips in my opinion! If anyone hasn't seen his other vids, I highly recommend you do. Subscribed easy!
thank you and welcome to the channel :)

I watch Kings and Generals, BazBattles, HistoryMarche, Armchair Historian, Invicta, Historia Civilis and any other I can find, and yours is the best. Keep em coming and you WILL have over a million subscribers one day not to mention make a crap load of money.
"Armchair Historian" cover most timeline in history, art-work on important people to famous person in history, with model in animation + some face came.
"Invicta" cover more story, moments & facts, reinforced by alot very nice art-work ( sometime's simply but full of detail & colors ) from Ancient time to Modern day + some live footage.
"BazBattles" forcus more on bird eye views on event & battle formation, with detail terrain & weather in good quality while cover around Ancient time to late Medieval era (with some Game of Thorns)
"Historia Civilis" have very simple bird eye views but add some humor to his work, using lots of colorful "square" people and cover some Ancient Greece, then Macedonia & Rome history (so far)
"Kings & Generals" have ... "general" bird eye views perspective on event & battle, lots of art-work, using Total Wars footage, great narator, cover more timeline in history, sometimes showing battle in 3D, but with good quality overall.
( I love watching all of there Channels video, but didnt know about HistoryMarche & just found Syntagma hours ago. Still, so far "Syntagma" have the most detailed & impressive 3D model, good looking terrain & transition to bird eye views. I really like the History of both Roman Republic & Roman Empire, and i can't wait to watched more video from this channel.)
Im sorry for this unnecessary long comments, but im glad if you read all of them. I wish you have a good day & good fortune in your future.

Thank you.
Wow!! You're good!! Excellent!! Subbing.
First time I hear such detailed tactical and strategic account of an ancient Roman battle... Please keep doing these videos, I love it!

@@Syntagma Thank you very much, thats really encouraging coming from you!
THIS IS SO AMAZING!
Honestly it's a warcrime that you are so underrated! A big round of applause for you sir! 10/10
thanks a lot man :)
Absolutely brilliant work, amazing presentation.
I am so glad I came across this. I really like that you are concentrating on these campaigns that always have only a few words written about them but never any visual representation. I now have a better understanding of how Caesar overran Italy and Spain. Please keep them coming.
Really looking forward to part two! I love the incorporation of the terrain and elevation into the animation. It's very illuminating!
Very interesting to learn that Gaul provided critical logistical support for Ceasar's Spanish campaign.
bro we need more from you, that voice and these animations are just the perfect pair - keep it up dude
What a brilliant documentary. I truly hope you continue your efforts. P.s the graphics are simple but amazing. GG
this content is frickin' amazing. Excellent work - eagerly anticipating part 2!
Not only was Caeser a great general. But his soldiers under him had genius minds also. From building two bridges to anticipating the enemies movement. To the fact that when they knew they couldn't march fast enough for their reinforcements to come they instead marched in the opposite direction and found high ground to set up a defense.
This had me snake fascinated, I even broke out the popcorn, can't wait for part 2.
Wow. Cannot wait for the next episode. This is better than TV! Thanks a million for your efforts!
thank you for the kind words :)
I know what happens but this really helps to visualize the whole thing
I must admit that this was far, far superior to videos of Kings & Generals as well as BazBattles... both qualitatively and unique, immersive visuals! 😍😍
Yeah 100% agree! If he keeps making vids he'll soon have millions of subscribers not to mention loads of money!
True, but i enjoy all of their videos. All of them are talented
These videos are always worth the wait. Keep em coming!
thank you, we will. Hopefully at a faster pace.
such a great job!! thx for sharing. Incredible how ancient people manage to solve problems and how hard they were
not sure what program you're using for the animations and battlefields, but it's simple and highly effective. Your narrative is likewise compelling and engaging. Please don't stop!
this type of visualization is best of its kind. many thanks to your efforts
What a wonderful program!!!Its the best Caesarian history I’ve seen.
As a result subscribing took very little thought.
Wow, amazing job. I'm going to have to go back and re-read some of my books on Caeser. This was informative and entertaining.

Great video and one of the best channels, if not the best, I've seen about this topic. I'm waiting for the 2nd part.
Incredibly high quality production... amazing!
Well done, so much better than what others are putting out. It’s like the difference between a rank amateur and something that’s professional that’s what you guys are doing on this channel love it keep it up.
Amazing Video!! So glad you’re back and can’t wait for the next video! 😊 Keep up the good Work.
Caesar's greatest advantage as a military leader was the total respect and adulation he gained from his legions. He earned this early in his military leadership career by actually leading battles at the head of his legions and showing them he was willing to take the same risk he was ordering them to take. As the years went on this reputation preceded him and he continued to have this incomparable devotion and loyalty from his fighting forces.
I think his greatest advantage was his singular dedication to building walls and trenches
There will be never enough channels like this on yt, never! Amazing video, very informative, easy to understand. I like the graphic style of units very much. This was instant subscription. Looking forward for part 2 and wish you more views in the future!
I'm looking for part 2.

Thumbnail reminded me old Centurion game, so I just had to click on it. And after watching, I just had to subscribe. Good work, sir, I'm looking forward for next!
Want part 2!
This channel could be huge if you released more frequent videos. Huge fanbase out there for Roman battle recreations and narration. Good narration voice too.
i know, but unfortunately a lot of time is involved on the animations and research needed for the videos.
@@Syntagma absolutely incredible work! Thank you thank you thank you.
excellent job! I enjoyed it very much! Looking forward to next episode!
Best video presentation and narration I have seen. Its nice to see actual units not blocks of squares, rectangles and circles.

I'm really Picky in Watching Documentaries. The narration and the animation are just on point!
we've been waiting this for too long!
Incredible work guys! Please more of that!
Awesome video, for all that work and you deserves it, subscribed.
I discovered this channel not even an hour ago and have already seen all your videos and from this video quality is clearly increasing already (tho the quality of previous videos was not bad to any degree) I can see this channel growing a lot and even if it doesn’t I’ll still keep a close eye cuz this channel fits the small niche of content that is rare and sparse that I actually enjoy
The thing that gets me the most when i think of these massive ancient battles is the logistics of feeding those thousands of solders every day. There's a story that's never told.
you can tell that a lot of the tactic was denied the other side a chance to get supply or forge otherwise they both stay in there camp and wait for right moment to attack
This was really good, can't wait to see your channel blow up!
Great quality!!! Can't wait for part 2
That was very interesting, thank you !
Bro this was so good, make more of these please !
It's amazing how Caesar managed to always win despite all the odds
Part 2, part 2, please, part 2.
Also, this is the very first video I watched in 2020.
Happy New Year!!
Your videos are superb, the quality is exceptional. I hope your channel keeps growing.
thanks a lot :)
Woah I just found this channel. Love the amazing work thank you.
Love it, I might add that we do seem to forget that the Roman Armies MARCHED everywhere...how badass is that. My better half is from Albania, then Illyria also one of the oldest languages in the world and not so dominated by Rome.
Love this all.
Really appreciate the combination of scholarship and graphic animation, very engaging!
The animations are amazing. I really enjoyed this vid.
Love it. Im all hooked up on your videos bro great job.
I can't believe RUclips haven't recommended your channel to me until now, subscribed, wonderful work. I went on Google Earth to look at modern day Lieida, the geography is precisely as described in your video. It's so fascinating to see the actual hills and river crossing when we know in great detail of the events that occurred there so long ago.
thanks man, we try to recreate the landscape as close as we can :)
Very nice job. Looking forward to part 2.
Really great video. Historia Civilis did a great vid on this too but this one gave some new information which is awesome
It's crazy how much he leaves out
M S yeah maybe you’re right. Still a good channel
Hey, I'm so glad to finally see you back!
I am reading a biography of Caesar right now. This visualization is wonderful.
Amazing video
