Why they dont put in a higher CC motorcyle? Is this similar to honda eclutch?

Good question. In the 1980s, they introduced a semi-automatic transmission to Volkswagen Beetle cars, and I don't recall any problems being discussed, but Volkswagen did not continue with it.
Right now with Honda the opposite happened, maybe to reduce air pollution? If I'm not mistaken, they prefer to produce Cubs in the 110 cc.
In the big motorcycles, they prefer a robotic transmission. And for the big scooters, a fully automatic transmission is put in: A Variator.
So they probably know something that we don't, maybe there are a problems with the semi-automatic transmission that they didn't tell us about? Maybe the semi-automatic transmission is too good and hurts their profits?
And It's possible without conspiracies, that Variator and the robotic transmission are simply better, especially the Variator.
That's my guess, maybe I'm wrong.

What could be the problem if both the 1st and 4th gear sometimes wouldn't engage? The gear indicator would change to 1st or 4th but there's no traction when the throttle is twisted and it would just sound like gears grinding before it finally engages (if it ever does). There are times that if I'm in either 1st or 4th gear, the bike hesitates and it feels like the gear is trying to disengage (sometimes it completely disengages while I'm moving but the indicator remains at either 1st or 4th). The 2nd and 3rd gears are okay - they don't have this issue. Looking forward to your input. 😊

My dear friend, despite your detailed explanation, it is difficult to understand and diagnose the situation you are describing. Maybe the forks are worn, maybe their bracket is worn, maybe you don't push the gearshift to the end, maybe, maybe, and maybe ... I suggest you go to a qualified mechanic in your area and tell us what he thinks of the issue. thank you very much.

@@MyINNOVAMotorcycling yup, i understand it's hard to diagnose the issue since there are a lot of possibilities. I was just trying to see if it could be narrowed down a bit further.
The bike has been in use daily for the last 8 years and 4 months so the parts could be breaking down.
I'll have to take it to a Honda service center for a check up. Thanks!

Where did you find the service limits?

    • @MyINNOVAMotorcycling
      @MyINNOVAMotorcycling  5 лет назад +1

To the best of my knowledge, there is no service limit for the all gearbox. The crankshaft cover open only when there is a problem. In my case, a critical failure of the bearings was found, which required their replacement.
In the original Honda service manual, and in the british Haynes manual, you will find the service limit data for the max erosion allowed in various parts of the gearbox.

Валы и шестерни очень отличаются. На старых Хонда Каб более простая конструкция.

мой дорогой друг, Даже в данном случае, в «My Inova», насколько я понимаю, это обычная и простая 4-ступенчатая Generic передач. [Google translate]

Thanks Honda is so stupid I have constant problems with changing gears since they changed the connecting rod. They cannot explain how the transmission is supposed to work correctly. Maybe they dont even know it. They tried to fix it several times with no result except that they assembled it wrong and the clutch stopped working altogether and when I complained about it they denied it. Hope Honda can learn from this video how their transmission works.

Thank you so much for your response and your attention. In my opinion, even in your case, the problem is not with Honda's engineering. It is possible, and it is quite rare, that a failure arises as a result of negligence in manufacturing or assembly at the manufacturer's parent factory, any manufacturer, even if it is a Honda (as in my case). I hope for you to find a fair mechanic to help you overcome the problems with your motorcycle.
