Upgrade has become one of my fave sci-fi/thriller films of the last few years. Really enjoyed his version of The Invisible Man as well so I am looking forward to Wolf Man

His talk about weaponizing empty space in Invisible Man is why I think that movie is a masterclass in using nothing to scare the crap out of you.

Upgrade was a really good movie. The way they filmed the moments where STEM is in full control was brilliant.

It’s always so good when a filmmaker who prizes creativity and loves the process gets to make movies. Loved the way Upgrade and Invisible Man used the camera and framing to further the story and mood. Fingers crossed that Wolf Man is just as inspired 🤞🤞

I love that he is an passionate, unpretentious meat and potatoes director in the vein of John Carpenter, not going for "elevated horror"

Love Leigh's movies, absolutely love Upgrade and I've been craving a good, straight-ahead scary werewolf movie a la Nosferatu where its taken seriously and the werewolf is a vicious animal, a real threat. Also love that Leigh is buddies with the guys from my favorite podcast, The Weekly Planet.
    Cant wait for Wolfman

I can’t believe they didn’t cover the Upgrade scenes that were like nothing before (similar to some Apple headphone commercials) w that amazing tracking effect, first seen in the kitchen fight, so memorable

The way he’s focusing on how answers don’t need to be given. We gotta stop spoon feeding audiences. It’s ruining movies.

It's the film critic from Recovery

i think the same whenever i hear his name. Recovery was the best, the sets the crew made for every band, so much Styrofoam. it was chaotic and will never be made again. glad i was around when it was out.

Not only was he the writer but he also put himself through some of the grossest stuff in that first movie. He'll always have my respect for that.

5:10 Elizabeth Moss was terrible miscast in this movie. Someone like Winona Ryder or Ashley Judd would have been perfect.

@uphillracer I suppose she's a good actress, but she's not credible for that role. The same as "handmaids tale", good acting but it demands a a big suspension of disbelief from the audience.
