      Hi Mick - Thanks, glad it worked and was easy to follow, one of my rules is that I strive to keep things easy to follow after various tutorials I find on YT and websites I found them not very easy to follow, some are good of course but a lot are complex and difficult. So thanks. Yeah I guess having it do something would be good 😆. I have it controlling smart plugs and smart lights which is always a good start, something fairly easy if you're a beginner/just starting out with HASS.

    Hello, thanks for this video. I have one question. I followed exactly each step you did and everything worked. But I would like to also install HACS (Home Assistant Community Store), and I was not able to do so. I enabled advanced features for admin account, but I was not able to add SSH integration in HA (it is not visible there) to perform HACS command line installation. Can you please create followup video how to do add HACS on synology docker installation? Or at least guide me how to get HACS there? Should I use Synology build in terminal to docket image instead? Thanks for letting me know.

    • @MrTimTech2022

      I may well do a video re HACS, but you could maybe try doing an internet search in the meantime which might provide a solution quicker.

      @@MrTimTech2022 Hello, I did the research meantime and found a solution and did it by myself. However, not everybody migt be so lucky. 🙂 Also it would be good to add explanation how to perform upgrade of container and not loosing changes made. What do you think? Again, thank you for your videos and guidance.

    I am losing always after the update my Data, will this be solved by using the shared folder? this will helps me!!

    • @MrTimTech2022
      @MrTimTech2022  6 месяцев назад +1

      You shouldn't lose data after an update, there must be something you are doing wrong. I suspect you have skipped some instructions, maybe start again from scratch (do a backup of Home Assistant first) and then restore the backup.

      Same for me, lost everything with the last update. And my ./docker/homeassistant folder is empty.
      I think (maybe i m wrong) that you miss the /config folder creation

      I think there's something that you've missed, however I don't think you should be putting it in a shared (Data) folder.

    sit is not aviable. i cant go to the :8123. What changes do i have to make?

    • @MrTimTech2022
      @MrTimTech2022  2 месяца назад

      I suspect you might have missed one of the steps from my video. If you enter the IP address in the internet browser address bar without ':8123' what happens ?
      If it loads your NAS page then the IP address is correct.
      If it does not load your NAS page then you might probably have the wrong IP address or maybe a firewall rule is blocking access, maybe you have it in another VLAN.
      Also check that the Docker Container for Home Assistant has a green dot against it's name to show it's loaded and running.

    • @MrTimTech2022
      @MrTimTech2022  7 месяцев назад

      It's difficult for me to assist without seeing your setup, but I would probably go through the steps one by one and check to make sure that you haven't missed something. You could try opening up a Command Prompt and try using the ping command to see if you get replies from your NAS IP address & port.

    • @ianbeck5897
      @ianbeck5897 6 месяцев назад

      Firstly, what an excellent video. With a little bit or tweaking for my system I seem to have set up HA on my DS920+.
      I also encountered the same issue of not being able to access HA via the 8123 port (using Google Chrome). I tried the same URL on Firefox and it went straight in. I noticed that URL was modified by the browser to 192.168.1.130:8123/onboarding.html (130 being the ip address on my network for the NAS). I then pasted this same URL into chrome and it also went straight to the HA welcome screen.

    • @MrTimTech2022
      @MrTimTech2022  5 месяцев назад

      @ianbeck5897 - I think it's web browser related as I'm using the Brave internet browser which is Chromium based as Chrome is, there must be some security settings in Firefox that's preventing http url's from being opened, check Firefox settings to allow http addresses (as it's not a https address for Home Assistant with only local access). I suspect the same applies to @eneaas6690 as well.

      You should be downloading 'Container Manager' from the Synology Store. You can search for Docker but only 'Container Manager' shows up.

      @@MrTimTech2022 My NAS didnt show Container Manager as my model DS718+ didnt automatically update to 7.2. This is not unique to this model, as there are multiple models that need a manual update to DSM 7.2. Once this was done, Container Manager was there and your video flowed perfectly. Thank you.
