You can tell by the way the song is structured and how Marlon approached the track that he's got mad respect for Meth. It had this feel like Marlon was setting Meth up like the way an opener does a headliner. It was the perfect beat for the two of them and they both went CRAZY in their own styles. Neither had to conform to the other for the song to work.
It's cool to see an OG co-sign Marlon. If you've followed Marlon from the beginning, then you know that he's always been very candid his feelings on these OGs who want to sit and complain about the culture, but then won't show love or put their name on the shit that actually deserves it. Knowing that, and now seeing Method Man drop one of the hardest verses he's ever had on a track with Marlon, is super awesome to see. It's cool too because Method Man has basically been moving low-key for the past 20 years, but he's always found where the real hip-hop is at. Intentional or not, that says a lot about Marlon as an MC. For anyone not tuned in, the implications of this link up won't be super clear off rip, but us fans know how big this is for Marlon. I can't help but be mad happy for my guy. He's done nothing but put the work in from the start, and now it's paying off in the only way it could've, and exactly the way he would want it to.
