  • The Noble Eightfold Path is one of the principal teachings of Buddhism, often represented by means of a wheel, in which its eight spokes represent the eight elements of the Middle Path, or Middle Way. This does not mean moderation or a compromise between the two extremes, rather, it means without entering either of the two extremes.

    The Pali term ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga is typically translated in English as "Noble Eightfold Path", however the phrase does not mean the path is noble, rather that the path is of the noble people (Pali: arya meaning 'enlightened, noble, precious people').

    I watched this 3 times back to back because it was so good!! I only wish it were longer lol! Your explanation of these original esoteric teachings are so unambiguous, considering the vastness of the subject, making it easily digestable and endlessly interesting for almost anyone...then choosing to pair your interpretation with Watts' talk was simply.. enlightening. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge! Always looking forward to the next upload 😁

Lol 😂 for real though, thank you Robert, it really does mean a lot to me because of how much I respect you and your esoteric discussions and sexual transmutation teachings. I have truly LEARNED so much from you. This specific subject especially as it really resonated with my soul. You've truly opened my mind to beautiful things and I can't thank you enough for that! 💋

      I’m of the firm belief that Jesus was a Bodhisattva, or a Buddha. We have records of Buddhist missions going as far as Alexandria, Athens, and even Rome, and there at one time being a large presence of Hellenic Buddhists. Perhaps Jesus spent time as a monk, and attained nirvana but had forsaken it in order to spread to us a form of western Buddhism, which was early Christianity, untouched by institutions.

    I am American my father married again when I was 3. She is from Thailand. She is my mother by every meaning of the word. I have also been to Thailand and I've seen many of what you showed on this program. I really had a lot of questions growing up. Because when I was a really young girl I went to Baptist Church. I was baptized when I was really young. And have felt the Holy Spirit. When I visited Thailand though I was blessed by a very special Monk and I also felt something that was very much the same as the Holy Spirit. I do not claim to know anyting on the contrary if I know anything its only from watching your program. Robert, this is one of my favorite SHOWS I love this program so much because even though I've been around Buddhist beliefs and Christianity This truly did help me to understand it a lot better especially when he is speaking about Nirvana. Thank you, thank you so much. Your teaching us at least how to question and to learn on our own and not to take what the government tells us in our school and in our learning as a fact because we have our own mind and we can think for ourselves even the mothers like me who are busy everyday I have an open mind and I'm willing to learn that's why I've always liked the Buddhist beliefs and the teachings of the middle way!

    I believe in the theory that ancient Aryans that broke into India were of proto-Slavic origin. There are several hundred words in Sanskrit that are almost identical in meaning and spelling to their counterparts in Serbo-Croatian. For example, when Alan Watts says Buddha means awakened, in Serbo-Croatian 'budan' means awake, not sleeping. There's a video on youtube made by a Hindu Indian that talks about these linguistic similarities.

    • @augustuscaesar8287
      @augustuscaesar8287 3 года назад +14

      That would actually kinda make sense. From Mt. Ararat, or the Caucasus I should say, some of the Aryans spread North Eastward into Russia & Ukraine. Some from that group traveled Eastward and became the Tocharians, others split off the group going east and went south to Iran, and still more split from that group and started heading eastward again, led by Krishna, becoming the Indians. So the Persian and Indian Aryans descend from the same Aryans that settle Russia & Ukraine, the Slavic Aryans.

    • @asb3pe
      @asb3pe 3 года назад +9

      Nicolai Levashov uses the term "Slavonic-Aryan Vedas" in his book "Russian History Viewed Through Distorted Mirrors" which is an astounding text in all regards, perhaps the most astounding words I've ever read... and I have no idea if any of the words are truth or not... but if they are truth, wow what an amazing history this planet has seen, and almost all of it has either been forgotten, or hidden (occulted)...

      There is a Russian Doctor that holds that the Aryans kind of 'Up-Graded' the Indian society. Her tracking of etymology is really great but from my point of view, very biased. The Aryans, if you look at my second link were trickling through into a very, very rich and advanced Civilization. The Aryans may have been practising mixed-bloodline with gusto but benevolence came from the acceptance by the Ancients of the Temples. They blended pleasantly for a while, but actually seemed to bring in the Caste System which collapsed the Kingdom. If you scroll past the magazine articles to the written text with photos, (get past the Falcon Goddess Isis) irenecaesar.wordpress.com/tag/samarkand/then you will read here take on the Russian Scythian Sacs Aryan race migrations. She touches on Ham and Africa as does the next link fully explains the true very rich Civilization of Africans/Indians as being Dravidians ... histhink.wordpress.com/2011/02/12/nagas-the-ancient-warriors-rulers-of-india-dalits-dravidian/

    • @alisaeedi8973
      @alisaeedi8973 3 года назад +4

      I think roots of all the Aryan nations are the Scythians. Because the only ethnic group that unites all Aryan people (Indians, Iranians, Slavs and Europeans) is the Scythians.

    • @alisaeedi8973
      @alisaeedi8973 3 года назад +7

      It is interesting to me that we Iranians' ancient language (Avesta) was completely the same as the ancient language of Indians (Sanskrit) and both nations roots go back to the Scythians! The roots of Europeans and Slavs also go back to the Scythians.

    Watts has some good stuff on here about wu wei (taoisam) and trying to achieve flow. His voice is so soothing. Thanks for posting. I havent listened to this one yet.

    I started watching to provide myself with an explanation of sorts. I did not find one explanation: I found many. I have learned more in the last three years then in my previous 56. I hope you keep going, because I enjoy each and every episode.

    Thank you so much for giving references to books, Robert! I really wanted to research more myself, after viewing your videos. But couldn't find proper books which weren't watered-down versions for the popular masses.

    Not sure what happened or if anyone else has experienced this with this or other channels, but I’ve been subscribed to you for a while now and realized I was missing your videos. Finally realized today I had been unsubscribed.. I never did that. Anyway, glad you’re still around

    It's interesting how many ancient mysteries and philosophies are geared to achieve unity of mind and chi/ki (Soul & Spirit).
    Everything is shrouded in the veil of symbolism, stories, mysteries and religious practices.
    Thanks for the enlightenment Robert, You are a Rockstar.

    I find spirituality of all kinds fascinating but no tradition has ever resonated with me like Buddhism has since I really started learning more about it around a year ago. Great video!
