I'm in the meat department and we unload the perishables truck, which is 20 pallets a night along with the produce. The most I have to do for the meat is 6 pallets.
Shit, your own pallet for your aisle? Could it get any easier? I use to unload an entire semi-truck (usually consisting of 15 pallets or less) Sort through each individual pallet with my crew, put our shit on a "low boy" (long 6 foot cart) for those that don't know. Spot our shit, then proceed to stock. Afterwards I was the lucky guy that got to downstack all the excess shit in the warehouse. Shit kept me in shape for sure! lol
True that! and the ones we had were all lopsided, and like 2 of them you couldn't even push after adding so much weight. Ugh, I'm so glad I retired from the Grocery stocking game..XD
Patrick Shields my thoughts exactly. i stocked for Randall's and HEB, and we always spot the items in front of the shelves where they go first, then stock, going down each side of the aisle until all the cases are stocked. that way you're not wasting a lot of time going back and forth to the pallet, walking up and down the aisle. pretty good facing though. btw, at Randall's, they called those carts "buggies", at heb, they called them "6-wheelers"
Gotta balance the box on your leg by your knee against the shelving and use both hands to stock. Goes alot faster that way instead of stocking with 1 hand.
sooo lucky.... nice video.... i have to leave the pallets in receiving and ferry it over on a float aka flatbed hand cart. also youre companies way of display makes so muchmore sense, you can pickup the whole case of cans if you want or just 2 or 3.... you dont have to ask someone to go get a case of cambles chicken noodle, ugh... ive been trying to get into costco for years...
I work at kroger as a fulltime produce clerk and the pay sucks ass can't even afford to move out of my parents house.I make $7.75 an hour and my raises are 0.25¢ every six months.
I work at Dollar General, we can listen to music if we are working at night when the store is closed but not while the store is open because we still have to interact with and help the customers.
Is this all you do? I want to apply to this position and someone tells me that they hide certain duties online, and before I know it, I'll also be cleaning restrooms and gathering carts from the Parking lot. Is this true?
Not sure I'd like this job based on the fact I'd be worried I wouldn't get out of the store after fuck knows what time. Rather do cashier but if this is all they had.
I stocked at kroger for a couple a days... 3 ppl including me at grocery and 1 at home and such. We took care of 16 odd aisles. It fucking sucked I did 11 hours my 2nd day stocking.
Depends if the whole pallet is for that aisle or not. Sometimes the pallets are mixed and they get sorted out on u-boats which your calling a buggy. And during the day time its hard to have a pallet out on the floor

+Curtis Nelson Well for Kroger, day stocking was mainly running backstock, which was excess product from the truck that wouldn't fit on the shelf so they put it in back. Doing that and helping customers find crap was mainly what day stockers did at Kroger.
I had my first day to day honestly it wasn't bad they hooked me up with food at service deli and got paid today I will admit smiths/kroger is one of the better stores I worked for hands down
The stockers could be more friendly when customers walk by them. The stockers was by the cash registers I said excuse me to one today. He was rude. No smiles when said excuse me.
bro leave the working man alone. let us get our work done, customers always have to bother the stock clerks with bullshit questions and attitudes when we just want to get our work done and go home. go bother the cashiers with that bullshit
You guys are under appreciated. This Kroger customer thanks you guys for all of your hard work!
I don’t work at Kroger. I work at Publix, but thank you for the comment. We are really underappreciated.

Ugh, the low boys (We call them U-boats where I work) are the worst. if only they were a tad wider.
True that! and the ones we had were all lopsided, and like 2 of them you couldn't even push after adding so much weight. Ugh, I'm so glad I retired from the Grocery stocking game..XD
U used to work for giant/martins didnt u. Thats exactly how we do it Lol.
Ricky B That's what we do on our nighters. Working straight from the pallet seems like a hassle.

Tea not at family dollar

Always condition on the way so you can get out early. Overnight stocking is VERY easy, very easy. People make it hard when it's not.
have you quit yet?

joshua escobar if you work night shift you have to worry about it. But day shift, yeah you might have to do the extra stuff
joshua escobar lmao I worry about the same thing😭
Night shift is really about all the behind the scenes shit with actual work. Freight. Customers have no clue about that back room
Dustin Warren yup and on top of that stockers make minimum wage lol maybe a few bucks more if ur lucky.
Are you overnight stock or daytime stock?
do you load those on to that cart ?
Not sure I'd like this job based on the fact I'd be worried I wouldn't get out of the store after fuck knows what time. Rather do cashier but if this is all they had.
Wow thanks for shareing!
Kroger is a great company to work for 🖒

Are you fast? I takes me less than 7 hours to do an isle and that's back stock using three isles. People ride the time which is stupid.
How long does it take you to block like that?
No peyton truck. Just grocery?
employing of the week
Why do i sometimes see stockers with items in a buggy that they are working and other times they have it all on a pallet?

Is this an easy job to get the hang of?
Yes, super easy if you don't mind the physical labor. The hardest part is knowing where everything is and that just takes about a week.
15 pallets thats a joke we get 30-45 a night
@@Huvvuv I'm going to nights soon
