    Very nice video! Exactly covered all the things I have learned in the last couple of year. I had a huge gnat infestation problem this past winter it was getting beyond control even after I used the yellow sticky papers you shared. Eventually I bought organic larvicide powder from ebay and dissolved in water and poured that cured the issue once and for all. Thanks for the video

    Great tips well explained. Recently I found a good gnat repellent. It's vanilla essence. I tried traps & neem spray but it didn't work. Gnats started breeding in the soil. I removed 2 inch of the upper layer of the soil and put fresh layer and kept few cotton pads with few drops of vanilla essence. It worked great. I could see the gants flying away from the cotton pads.
    My FIL is a farmer I seen him making മത്തി വളം for his farm. It's very effective.

    Hi there, thank you for this very informative video. Didn't know there are a few varieties of this plant. I had a curry leaf plant for the longest time. I used to live in a condo and my plant had always been kept indoors. It grew to about 7 feet tall, very bushy and beautiful. Everyone who saw my plant wants to steal it :) 4 yrs ago I moved to a house and on the advice of friends, left my plant outside during the summer. In the Fall, after bringing the plant indoors, it started to have scales. I sprayed it with insecticidal soap bought from a store and my plant dried up and died!!! Have been looking to get one every since. Only last week, I was able to buy one. It is very small, about 7 inches tall and I have been taking care of it like my baby and was not intending to take it outside. Saw your video about what to do before bringing it indoors. What is your take about keep it indoors like what I did before? I live in Canada.. Thank you.

    • @WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam
      @WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam  3 года назад +2

      Aww, that's sad. Unfortunately, scale once present is hard to get rid of unless you are very diligent. I think it depends on seasons too. This year I had mealy bug on my jasmines. Never had it before. I heard that some indoor plants we buy at nurseries or wegmans etc might have them it seems. So we might unknowingly bring them into our house.

    • @ananthseshadri2318
      @ananthseshadri2318 Год назад

      Hi, after issues with many pests in my plants from keeping them outdoors in the summer, I have decided to grow them indoors entirely. I'm curious since you've grown yours indoors entirely, what fertilizers did you use? Thank you!

    • @meikow3804
      @meikow3804 Год назад

      @@ananthseshadri2318 just miracle grow or any fetilizer. I haven't been able to grow my curry plant as nice and bushy as my first one. I think it has a lot to do with enough light indoors. My new home doesn't get too much sunlight and hence, it's not growing as well as I would like it to. Good luck to you.

    Hi Vidya - Thanks for sharing a video with such detailed explanation! I have two questions: (1) In winter, after we move the pots inside; can we still harvest fresh leaves? (2) Do you have any friends who grow curry leaves in a greenhouse (small size)..?

    • @WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam
      @WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam  3 года назад +1

    Winter care : Use a spray bottle to spray water twice a day. Keep water in a 1” depth plate near the plant on the floor. A bucket of water with 1-2 tbs of ammonia can be used to clean the base and use a wash cloth to clean the out side of the pot before the pots are moved inside. It keeps the white flies away.

      Spring is the best time to prune. I wait a week or so to prune once I kick it back outside. That way it doesn't get back to back shock.

    Hi Vidya, I have two curry leaf plants and always wondered why the leaves are always down even though I water and fertilize them regularly. Thanks for explaining your observation. They both must be the dwarf variety. They are in full sun in zone 9b. Do you think moving them to a shadier spot will prevent the leaves from going down and being more flat?

      I have noticed my regular variety curry leaf does that in full sun. Try moving it to a spot that get afternoon shade. I think it is something to do with that variety. The leaves are happy when my plant is indoors for winter.

    Hello from San Antonio,Texas..an excellent video ..very well explained..lot of new information.have a doubt..I have a curry leaf plant that’s about 30 inches in height .Transferred it to a bigger pot in April this year and it slowly started getting new leaves but the problem is the leaves are not growing in size and number even after a month..only 3,4 leaf stems have grown like 4,5 inches ..most of the leaves are of the same size like when it sprouted (oru thandu nu oru inch okke ulloo length and athil chila thalir ilakk black spots und)no new sprouts coming too so that’s depressing..it’s just staying as it is ..tried some plant food from Walmart (not bone meal but the normal all purpose plant food )and I water everyday .chilappol thale naalathe kanji vellom pulippich nerppich ozhikkarundayirunnu pakshe ippo cheyyarilla...the plant is almost 2.5 years old.got it as a big plant of 20-25 inches height from a friend ..what’s the mistake I’m doing?is it because of too much watering??is it ok to sow or plant any new plants in the same pot Or the curry leaf plant pot should have only curry leaf in it?how can I get new leaves that’s bigger and healthier??should I cut these bigger leaves (4,5 inches length)for now or keep it as it is ?I know too many questions to answer ☺️😉but I’m really worried 🥺😢as I take care of my plants as my children ..Waiting for your reply.thank you so much ..once again kudos for making such an elaborate video 👏🏻👏🏻

      Hi Meera. Nice to meet you here. It sounds like over watering to me. Water only when soil in the pot is dry to touch till 1 inch deep. Also since the plant is small I would refrain from using kanjivellam. Try earthworm casting or cow manure (black cow brand) or even fish fertilizer once a month.

      Thank you Diji. You can see some of my roses in this video. ruclips.net/video/XzyYLXfCiKM/видео.html. But I'm struggling with them and had to remove many because of a virus disease. I talk about it on my english channel ruclips.net/video/RSUDvJk2zwg/видео.html. If this continues soon I won't have any roses in my garden. 😥

      Thank you so much. It most likely is fungus. Do a lot of leaves have it? If not please remove the leaves and discard. Treat the plant with an organic fungicide. Hope this is helpful.
