    I have grown these in zone 9b, and have grown almost 10 to 12 curry leaf trees where fall and winter temperatures are as low as 40 F and occasional frost. After 2 years, I don’t cover the tree at all in winter and neither give it any buttermilk etc. the only thing I do is cover with 6 inch bark mulch and pruning and that does the job. No need to save it for winter. Just harvest and prune each branch set in winter for fresher version of leaves . The mulch is the one which does the job .

    Thank you for such an informative video. I live in New Zealand and have just bought my first Curry plant, so being Southern Hemisphere, times will be opposite in the year to yours. My plant is about 30cm tall, and looks very healthy. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to transplant it to a larger pot, as it is Autumn here now. I have a conservatory that I can keep it in over winter. I tend to grow it in a large pot. What do you think?

    Hello! I loved your video! ♥️
    Thank you so much!
    I have a question can we prune the tree branches as soon as it is waking up? So new growth can branch out? In Canada it wakes up around MARCH.
    Also, what could be the reason for my tree that once produced berries through which I grew many other baby plants, however, since two years it is not doing that. I will appreciate your response.
    Thank you again!🍃

    Hi, you mentioned root hormone when planting pruned branches - can you tell me what this is? One more q - is it advisable to prune in January? Thank you for a very informative video, your curry leaf plant looks gorgeous!

    • @charank.7667
      @charank.7667 2 года назад

      Rooting Hormone is basically applied at the end of the cutting of the stem and basically it replaces the stem DNA with root cells which help’s with forming root calluses which is where the new roots form. I heard from my grandma that it’s better to cut during spring season or like between Feb to April

    Hello, I live in southern California and I had this plant in a very large wooden pot for about 4 years. ( about 4 feet tall) 2020 summer it was very healthy and green. by winter leaves turned yellow and we planted it on the ground end of May 2021. ( about 3 weeks now) we dug the hole much larger and to the bottom we put some small fish and bones, cow manure , organic miracle grow top soil and planted it with the soil which was in the pot. I do not see any improvement on the leaves and looks very unhealthy. It gets direct sunlight and do not want o water too much as I heard it could harm the plant. I also put hand full of epsom salt on the top soil 2 days ago. when I shake large leaves fall off. I would appreciate your guidance . I would send a picture or video .Thank you

      When you wash the rice, save the water. Leave it on the kitchen counter by closing with a lid for 2 days. Once you open the lid you should not smell any foul smell. That means it is fermented, give it a good stir and give it to the plants at their roots.

    Mine is not growing at all even after 1 year. I initially repotted to a bigger pot but did not put any fertilizer in it. Is that the reason for not growing? It only grew about 1 inch in a year :(

    • @siliconvalleygardener6262
      @siliconvalleygardener6262  3 года назад +1

      Maybe the soil does not have enough nutrients. Remove, lil bit of the top soil. You can add any organic fertilizer like street manure, homemade compost or cow manure to the top soil. Make sure that it is in a sunny location. Curry leaf plant need at-least 5 hours of sunlight for it to grow

      Hi Shaheda. Thank you for visiting my channel. You can leave buttermilk on the kitchen counter for 1-2 days. Then it tends to get sourness, you can give it to the curryleaf plant root.

      Hello Tripti, after you prune the curry leaf plant. Incase you are located in a cold weather location, keep it indoors under grow lights or near window that gets 4-5hours of sunlight. If you are located in a location like california you can place it in a green house dome and water once the soil is dry
