    This is the best sweater and video pattern ever. I started watching your video in 2018-2019 and have already made five sweaters for myself (different colors of course) and now I'm making one for a relative. And every time I go to buy yarn I see new colors and I want to make a new sweater. Thank you

    I have never seen a sweater constructed this way. It's fabulous. And thank you so much for having the larger sizes. And it was made in one of my favorite yarns which I have plenty of, so it's nice to see how it will come out.
    Have a great day.
    Stay safe, stay healthy.

    I've never made a vertical sweater. So thank you! That and I need a plus size. I'm still trying to get the hang of the foundation chain. But I love the yarn.

    Thanks for sharing this pattern! I finished my cardigan and it is beautiful. I didn't think the 178 stitch would be long enough but it IS LONG enough for me, love it! I'm 5'4".
    I added a few more rows at the end, for some reason I didn't feel that the 2 front panels closed up all the way. If some of you are wondering, this cardigan did take me almost a month to work on. I worked on it here and there, made some mistakes so had to redo some areas but it turned out great! Just in time for the cooling off season.

    I'm just starting this as a Christmas gift for a family member, but I'd like to say thank you for including plus sizes! So many times I've gone to make a pattern and it stops at an XL. Very appreciative of that. 💖

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  4 года назад +2

      Hi! This project does not begin with a foundation chain. Instead, we begin with a row of foundation half-double crochet, which works the foundation chain and the first row of half-double crochet at the same time. (This is abbreviated as Fhdc in the pattern.) I have a full tutorial and free printable cheat sheet for this technique available here: yayforyarn.com/foundation-crochet-stitches/ It is not much harder to work than a regular half-double crochet, but it creates a neat, stretchy foundation edge. Since our rows are running vertically, this helps the side seams of the cardigan to hang evenly, because there is no foundation chain to limit the stretch of the foundation edge.
      The free written pattern includes the numbers and instructions for all 9 sizes, so click the first link in the video description to view the free version of the written pattern. I hope this helps!

      @amydeline1141 3 года назад

      How do I find the size large?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  3 года назад

      Hi Amy. The size Large is the 4th size in the list when the pattern gives a list of numbers. Instructions and yarn requirements for size X-Small are given outside the parentheses, with Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2X, 3X, 4X, and 5X given inside the parentheses, like this:
      X-Small (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X).
      So when you see a list of numbers with parentheses, you'll only need to look at the 4th number in the list. I hope this helps!

      Terri Leist Hello! ☺️👋🏻 Im a size 3x and I am also very grateful for this pattern that can be altered for plus sizes. That being said, I’m a beginner and I looked at the pattern for the 3X but I don’t really understand any of it lol 🙈 it doesn’t say how many rows to crochet at each step to be able to make the 3x. I think it gives cm. Am I supposed to crochet and mesure until I get that length? Please help? Thank you 😘😘

    • @YayForYarn

      Hi! If you click the first link in the description box, it will take you to view the free version of the written pattern. The pattern includes precise instructions for all 9 sizes, from a women's XS to 5X. If you read through the sizing information, the pattern explains how the numbers for the different sizes are written out in the instructions. So you won't need to alter the pattern or guess at how many rows for a 3X, because all of those numbers and instructions are included in the written pattern. I hope this helps!

    This is lovely,I like Lion Brand Heartland too. Your work is beautiful and you explain in very good detail. I’m not a beginner crocheter but I believe this is beyond beginner level. It took me awhile to figure out the construction vertically,I do realize it cuts down on seaming. Unusual way to make sleeves would be a bit confusing. It’s still beautiful though plz don’t think as negative I love your beautiful work ❤️

    This pattern was very easy, I really appreciated the video to go along with it. As it made it easier to ensure I was doing the stitches correctly. This was my 1st time trying a cardigan, so I very pleased with the outcome. I would love to share my picture of my finished product, but I'm not sure how.

      Hi Donna! I'm glad you are happy with your new cardigan! If you want to share a photo, you can post it to Instagram and tag me @yayforyarn, or, if you use Ravelry, you can post a project there. I hope this helps!

    Almost done of my first ever sweater! You've made this so easy to follow, that this is the first time I've almost completed a project!!
    Just a quick question please. I'm at the very left few rows that say to do all hdc. Could you continue with the ribbing instead. I really like that look. Or does it affect the way it seem lie
    Thanks so much for this pattern and all the other patterns you have so kindly given us.

      Hi Cathy! So glad you're enjoying the pattern! If you're referring to the neck edging, then yes, you could work all ribbing stitches in those rows if you prefer. I hope this helps!

    I made a mistake from the very beginning...I used Hometown yarn instead of Heartland... and I am almost finished. This sucker is HEAVY if you do that, so I suggest you don't lol

    Love this pattern, but next time I make it, I'll make some changes. I wear a small, but made the medium size because I wanted it bigger. I used caron simply soft eco. lol this thing turned out huge! Still comfy tho.

      Blondie Newton I’m afraid of this happening too. I always have to tweak patterns no matter. Usually they are made for plus size people and you can only go down so many hook sizes. I will make this but will go down in stitches and hook size. I’m 5’2” and 118#. Nothing ever fits bc it fits plus size people these days. Nice to see her make a medium right?! 😊🧶

    • @Tanacarroll
      @Tanacarroll 5 лет назад

      Yes! It’s a small! I’m so happy. 😊

      Tana Carroll Can I ask how you tweaked it for size? I’m 4’ 11” and 105#. Even XS turns out big on me.
